The Wall of beer is Beer swillers only beer. It's a good selection. Light to none on craft beers. They got your dairy, deli meats, and eggs covered, for that morning after breakfast. Tons of soda and every energy drink imaginable,. Mmm, cherry NOS energy drink, my fave. The snacks are vast and fair value priced. Astor Florida is a nice community just on the edge of the Ocala National forest off the St. John river. Everyone comes here for the things that end in the letter "N". Huntin, fishin, hikin, you get the idea. There are almost as many bears as people. In that forest there is a little bar, where my niece was going to, so I asked my Brother in Law to take me there. Its a nice little place, Everyone was friendly, they served my favorite beer, and it was cold. The atmosphere is very red in the neck. It is 100% gen-u-wine, from the memorabilia for NASCAR, the rebel flags and down to the deer heads on the wall. The karaoke machine has every song as long as its country or western. I take that back, there was a couple rock songs there. There is no book, you wander up to the DJ and tell him what song you want to sing. I bet Freebird or some Allman Bros is on there, but I didn't sing. I could not. Its smokey. Very smokey. It is oxygen mask smokey because everyone is smoking all the time. In Tampa the cigar bars don't get this smokey. It goes with the turf. Did I mention it is a smoke friendly place? So all in all, it you are out here its a great place to rub elbows with folks in Astor. If you smoke you will be fine.

A new name for an old favorite…read more We stopped for lunch on a beautiful weekday. Parking lot was surprisingly empty even though Bike Week was going on over on the coast. A nicely prepared hamburger and a delightful bacon-stuffed BLT both hit the spot. We didn't get our requested medium rare, but it was tasty nonetheless. The BLT was served on toasted and buttered bread. Don't see butter much - seems to always be mayo. It was great. Having an abundance of bacon certainty sealed the deal. The cole slaw was creamy and looked and tasted freshly-made. The black beans and rice side was a pleasant surprise and delicious. Our service was prompt and efficient. This place can succeed if it keeps serving good food like we had.
