Many years ago I got into Seaquarium for free. I didn't intend this, it was just that the entrance…read morewas bit chaotic and before I knew what was happening I was inside. The entrance has now changed so there's no chance of sneaking in anymore, however when you pay you get your hand stamped and this stamp allows you to leave and re-enter again as many times as you like on that day. As has been mentioned in previous reviews admission to Seaquarium is not cheap. Prices are adults £7.99, children £6.99 or a family ticket £27.99 for 2010. Too be honest it's not worth that much. Fortunately the weekend before I visited with my daughter I picked up a copy of a free events magazine called "Raring 2 Go" which included a voucher to get free admission for a child with a paying adult so we paid a far more reasonable £7.99 for both of us. UPDATE - You can also download a printable 2 for 1 voucher from the Raring 2 Go website (http://www.raring2go.co.uk/offerMenu.php?#offers) . As the name suggests the aquarium is devoted to sea creatures rather than freshwater animals. You'll see a variety of fish including lion fish, clown fish, sharks, rays and conger eels. Other exhibits include crabs, lobsters, starfish and octopi. There is also an outdoor area with sealions and seals. Shows are put on at set times during the day and there is a seated area if you want to watch. This is actually quite good, I've seen the sealion show at Colwyn Bay Zoo several times and it can be difficult, especially for small kids, to find a decent viewpoint there. The banked arena here means that there is no problem with seeing the display. The aquarium is set out as a trail and the final section takes you through the underwater tunnel where you can watch the fish, including sharks, swin over your head. As you leave the underwater tunnel you find yourself in the middle of the canteen. Presumably the idea is to encourage you to stay for lunch. You can also have a browse in the gift shop which is next to the canteen. All in all an expensive but enjoyable hour or so but if you are planning to visit my advice would be to visit the Tourist Information Centre beforehand and try to find a copy of 'Raring 2 Go". I'll give it four stars but would have been three if I'd had to pay full price.

It is not cheap to go in but the wonderful array of displays make it worthwhile. There are the rays and sharks amongst others. The walkthrough where you can see all the fish swimming around you is fantastic. I found that a big plus for me was also the gift shop, it was not big but ample in size and had some lovely gifts. All in all, not the best aquarium i have been to but i enjoyed it and was glad i went.

Having said that it is still a zoo and the animals are kept in cages. Most of the animals are small including lots of little monkeys and there are a lot of reptiles as well although there are leopards, crocodiles and ocelots if you want something a bit more carnivorous. The downside for me was the cost of admission which I felt was way too high given the size of the zoo. On the plus side you could buy tubs of nuts and grapes to feed to the monkeys which my daughter really enjoyed. It's probably worth a look if you've got some cash to spare.

Full disclosure: I've never been to an animalarium or zoo in the U.K. All of my experience with zoos has been in the U.S. This zoo is filthy, dated, and very sad. There is a wide variety of animals there, from Sheep and Goats to Lions, Linx, and exotic monkeys. None of the enclosures seemed big enough for the animals. This was especially noticeable for the Leopard, Crocodiles, large snakes, and Lions. I was also concerned about safety. The big cats were separated from the public by little more than chicken wire and there was one disinterested, young, female employee with the lions. Moreover, the enclosures were dirty, stinky, and overrun with weeds. I felt sorry for all of the animals. Allegedly, all of these animals are rescued and rehomed and my two year old enjoyed the animals, so 2 stars seems appropriate.

Its an ideal Family Day out and great fun for Children of all ages. For children its a great opportunity to feed and cuddle the smaller animals, and watch the farmers go about there daily activities - collecting eggs and ploughing the fields. Children can also ride on Mini-Tractors in the childrens farmyard and have a ride on the much loved Pony named Barney!! The Farm is home to mainly Cows and Sheep and some rare breeds, it also has a resident Llama, Goats, Deer and Birds of Prey including some very cute Owls. The Farm also has the Cartwheel Cafe which is located in the Old Stables and has a covered BBQ area and a lovely courtyard which is great in the evenings. The Cafe serves good homecooked food and offers a Grill menu with delicious Homemade Burgers and Steaks. It's also a great place for Childrens Parties and they also hire out the Function Room for private parties, weddings and special events. The Farm park is open all year round and costs £6 for Adults and £4.50 for children Well worth a Visit

Access is via a rough and ready trail off Nant-y-Gamar Road. Admission these days is free, which you can't complain about, although there are charges for some activities such as pony or tractor rides but these are very reasonable. You can also purchase bags of food to feed the animals. The farm park is precisely what you might imagine a farm park should be with a few extras. You'll find a collection of all the usual suspects including cows, sheep, horses, goats, chickens, ducks and an enormous fat pig called Boris. Less expectedly you'll find deer, llamas, a rhea and a kookabura named Sheila. You can explore the park on foot or take a guided tour on a tractor. The park is also the home of the North Wales Bird Trust where you can visit their bird of prey display. This is great if you like owls as they have a collection of owls of all sizes and from all corners of the planet. There isn't much other than the owls so if you don't like owls you might be disappointed! The park also has a kids play area and a courtyard crammed full of pedal powered tractors. There's also a very nice cafe and bar with an outdoor courtyard which now has a wood fired pizza oven. There's also a function room which is licenced for weddings. Personally I enjoyed my visit although living in a semi-rural area there wasn't much of a novelty for me in seeing cows and sheep in fields. However the kids had a great time and I could imagine that anyone who lives in an urban area would love to get close up with the animals. All in all an enjoyable couple of hours, especially given that admission is free.

Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs!!! I wouldn't even…read morebother paying for this place anymore. I've been visiting so many times since I was a kid and it's just not the same. There are hardly any animals left! The so-called "meet and greet" is a complete rip-off - who wants to pay extra to interact with a rat or a ferret? Where are the adorable lambs, chicks, and rabbits we used to see? And hold? It's a shadow of its former self and feels like a ghost town. No rides or bounty castle where it used to be. Everything is poorly maintained, and the whole experience is just depressing. You'll honestly have more fun and get your money's worth at Chester Zoo, which is similar price! They charged us £75 for three adults and two small children extra ££ to meet and greet animals. Save yourself the disappointment and your money elsewhere!

There are also times when the puppies and other animals are brought out for feeding time and the children get to participate. There is also a small park with benches for those wanting to bring a picnic with enough play items to keep the kids entertained. The best part of the day for me was the tractor ride which is extremely cheap. This goes around the field passing the horses and cows, etc. At the end the tractor driver threw some food for the pigs and gave a racing style commentary which seemed to amuse all aboard. Great place for the family
