At that point I was told the building was being sold to an out-of-state company and i knew it was time to leave. The apartment was OK. It could have used some updating and was very 80s but fine for $500-600/mo. (They may have been updated since.) The nearest airport/big city is three hours away so that was hell and there's really nothing to do there. I remember I called the gym, which was really the only thing to do there and asked if they had hot yoga and they didn't know what it was. When I moved there, they had just opened up a very small airport with those tiny 6 seater planes but it was a ridiculous amount of money to fly to Salt Lake and then pay to fly out of Salt Lake. It's a small town with not much to do and not many jobs so $1000/mo is ridiculous IMO. I'm so glad I got out in time and bought a place in Arkansas.
