They love it even though it is not a dog park but I have a whole gang so we make our own fun lol. The old building is still in use. The old building also has a children playground, tennis and basketball court around it. If your kid is signed up for leagues there you may be utilizing both buildings. The combination of these really stinks - pay $6.75 for parking only to find the pool is closed. The gym is amazing with dozens of complete weight setups of all types, I can't really imagine a better equipped gym. Basketball, badminton, and lots of other things go on there that I don't know about. I mostly do strength-training and then laps in the pool. The locker rooms are excellent - clean and well equipped. Actually, just having looked back at pictures, it is very CASTLE - esk. It's practically a large castle. So, you get into the center and it's more like a large gym space though. The ceiling is very high which is nice- makes the room very airy. I was here for the Maryland Ensemble Theater's Retro Prom. They decorated the place nicely. And the venue seems like it could easily fit 500 people reception style. There is a lack of parking, but the large expansive room makes up for it. If memory serves me right, there were basketball hoops attached to the ceiling. It is very much like a gym feel. There are fields around the building. A great large event venue in a town where not many at all exist.

During the weekends you'll see the pool taken over by youth swim lessons. The deck is very small/narrow. When walking you might bump into a lifeguard walking and doing their job on the deck. It feels tight. There are no high bleachers so come early to find a good spot to watch from. They do have benches surrounding the pool on the deck. The center is an older center but has all your basic needs. Locker rooms don't appear the cleanest but has showers. The shower water goes from warm to cold when more than 1 or 2 are using it. This location also has a preschool with a small playground on site.

I walked along the Havre de Grace Promenade with some friends yesterday. The views were nice, and…read morewe saw the cutest goose family (two geese and 12 goslings). There are also some attractions along the Promenade (a lighthouse, the lighthouse keeper's house, a fish sculpture, a maritime museum, a decoy museum, and a waterfront restaurant). Walking along the Promenade and back was the highlight of our visit to Havre de Grace. It's not long, but it's a great little place to take a stop and stretch your legs if you're in the area (we were driving from Baltimore to Philadelphia and stopped for a visit to Havre de Grace on the way).
