I have been seeing Dr. Mike for nearly 3 years. Dr, Mike has a warm engaging personality. He is happy to see you when you come in, he remembers what is going on in your life and talks to you with heart when he sees you. His adjustments are spot-on, and best of all he does not try to sell you any supplements or extra services. His staff is excellent, they even respond to text messages after hours when I have questions. I'm not sure I can recommend this place highly enough. They have taken away a great deal of my pain CONSISTENTLY over the past few years. I don't usually write many reviews. And I tend to write mostly positive reviews, for folks who are doing a superior job because I feel that people who write terribly negative reviews are doing it in order to bring the person down out of anger, spite, or competition. I suspect that some of the negative reviews here about his practice are targeting Dr. Mike for other reasons. Perhaps it is competitor, or a or disgruntled past employee who wrote them...? I have seen five different chiropractors in the last 20 years in the Ann Arbor-Saline-Ypsilanti area, three different osteopaths, and several different Physical Theripists. I had an injury that required different therapy at different times and I also have rheumatoid arthritis. Of all of the people that I have gone to see, Dr. Mike ranks in the top two. Some of these therapists and doctors were excellent and some were terrible. A couple were mediocre. I would name their names because it's not an ethical thing to do. I am a kindergarten teacher and I live and work in Ann Arbor, MI. I practice what I teach about honesty and kindness. Here is what I can tell you... Dr. Mike has a lovely, clean office, with a terrific atmosphere. The bathrooms are clean, he has complementary coffee, tea, and water in the waiting area, and (I'm not sure I can say this last part enough) HE IS AN EXCELLENT CHIROPRACTOR. Dr. Meath can do traditional manipulations, and he can also do manipulations with that tiny metal gun shaped device which some folks prefer. He can take X-rays, but does not require it. Also, I think it is important to note that I don't go to see Dr. Mike because of the atmosphere, or the free drinks, or because of how clean the bathroom is. I go to see him because he is ethical, kind, and he is not a shyster who sells a bunch of extra potions, lotions, x-rays, tonics, or other services. He is straight up, honest, he listens to what you say, and he tells you about all the things he can do to help, always listening to what your preference is. He has never over-billed me for ANYTHING and I have excellent coverage. I love that after my first visit, I have never waited more than 15 minutes for an appointment. Once as a walk-in, I waited at most 18 minutes. He does not ever mind adding a walk-in client to his schedule! Today, while I was thinking to make an appointment to go in, I decided to leave Dr. Meath a review because it occurred to me what excellent care I have received there over the years before seeing him. I was shocked to see anyone negative review here! Prior to finding Rr. Mike's office, I floated around from place to place looking for a person who wasn't trying to sell me something other than an adjustment. That is sometimes hard to find in the world of adjustments and chiropractic care. If you are searching, like I was, this is the place to go; your search will be over. I saw Dr Meath today for some neck stiffness. He knows his stuff and is very gentle when making adjustments. Dr Meath has an amazing ability to detect the slightest imbalance, previously in my gait, and this time in my shoulders. He corrected my neck stiffness and the shoulder issue I didn't realize I had. Dr. Meath is a master. Quite literally. I'm a bigger guy and he adjusted me with ease. I was going to another chiropractor who did the "usual" techniques. They were unable to properly adjust my mid back and lower back and also did little for my hips. I've been watching chiropractor videos on YouTube for quite a while so I've come to understand there are so many different techniques. Not only is Dr. Meath less costly than other ineffective chiropractors, but he adjusted my neck three different ways! I'd be weary of this place. First of all, they answer the phone as Lori Chiropractic (which has a misleadingly excellent write up on the web), but the name on the building is different, and the doctor there is not Lori. Even if the business changed, why would you answer the phone incorrectly? I have a bad back and I just needed my hip realigned. I would have waited for a doctor of osteopathy but it was really late in my pregnancy and I decided to do it with such short notice. They were able to schedule me right away. When I arrived I was so confused as to whether I was in the right place, but my appointment was in their book. I sat in their waiting room and was really questioning as to whether or not I should stay. I stayed, and the chiropratctor was nice, but he used controversial methods in his practice. He cracked my neck (read up on it!) and he wanted to do X-rays after my pregnancy. I know that insurance companies cover chiropractic services, but not necessarily because they feel they are reputable. So the chiropractor can charge your insurance for things like X-rays even though can be very unnecessary! I've been to a doctor of osteopathy before so I know that X-rays aren't necessary for a realignment. I would never feel comfortable with that sort of radiation exposure if I was not fractured! Someone in this field should be able to feel whether things are out of place. After my session here, I did not feel better. I felt worse. To their credit they have excellent customer service. The doctor was super nice and so was the receptionist. I would just be really aware of what services you are getting and to not allow the chiropractor to do any adjustments you didn't come there for. They are getting three stars because they were so nice. If you want to try this place out, be armed with research and questions, and do not be afraid to ask them. read more

Dr. Meath does at great job. I've been seeing him for years, and every time I leave I feel better. I have chronic pain, but have injured myself a number of times in those years, and they are really quick to get me in, sometimes the same day. The atmosphere is relaxing, the customer service is great, and Dr. Meath is very friendly, and remembers details of what might be going on in your personal/family life. I go there at least once a month, for maintenance, and when I am particularly hurting, I go see him once a week. Dr. Meath has been a miracle worker for me. I had a minor surgery in 2008, and my hips were twisted out of place when they moved me in the hospital. I could not walk without a cane and extreme pain. The first visit to Dr. Meath helped so much I no longer needed the cane, and my own husband could not believe his eyes when I walked out of the treatment room without help. I was diagnosed with sciatica and was sent to physical therapy. After three weeks of physical therapy I was still in incredible pain. I thought I would try chiropractic but was a little skeptical. I called Dr. Meath because he was highly recommended on yelp. His office is very no nonsense. I first went in and he gave me a consultation and looked me over he then decided that I needed x-rays and did those. He then did an adjustment right on the spot. I felt 100% better , the sciatica was relieved. They had to charge me the going rate since they didn't know how much my insurance would cover. It was only $65. I have since gone to him twice a week for the next three weeks. My sciatica is allmost completely gone. He's a great chiropractor didn't try to sell me anything extra didn't try to do anything weird . I just felt very very comfortable with him. Hello! I began going to Dr. Mike 2 years ago when I got up one morning and literally couldn't walk to the bathroom. I had to crawl. I had never been to a chiropractor and so I asked my friends around the area who they went to, 98% said Dr. Meath. I was so worried. I made an appointment right away. He took xrays, and showed me exactly what was wrong. He told me how he was going to help me, and educated me on Chiropractic and healthy living. I had a car trip planned for Florida, and he even came out to the car to look at the seats to tell me what kind of back support to get, and he ended up GIVING me an extra one of his from his car. He is concerned about his patients. He is kind, funny, honest, and professional. I not only ended up walking, but I felt like a new person!! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Meath. This clinic is by far the shadiest place I have ever been to. I would run and run fast away from this place. On the surface it seems as though it's a nice little business but just wait until you dig a little deeper. While the doctor is relatively good at what he does don't let this fool you. My first impression of the looks of the office is that it's a dump. The carpet is about 100 years old and dirty. There are spots on the walls where you can tell they've been torn down and then someone just painted over them without taking the time to re-drywall. And then you reach the bathroom. This bathroom looks like Dante's 9th circle of hell. The toilet was disgusting and there was actual DIRT in the sink and on the floor. Doesn't anyone think to bust out a broom every now and then?? You would think he would want to take some pride in the way the place looks. I guess not. I came for my first few adjustments and all was going well. Then I received my explanation of benefits from my insurance company. To my surprise my insurance company was being billed for services that I never received. I guess just because I have good insurance this quack thinks he has the right to bill and get paid for stuff that he did not do. He sent a bill to my insurance company for xrays he didn't take, an "extended" exam he didn't do (I was with him for about 20 min) and a form of "therapy" I've never heard of nor did I receive at any of my several visits. Seems like a ploy to get more money out of my insurance company if you ask me. I wouldn't recommend this scum bag to my worst enemy, let alone my friends or family.
