I am so incredibly disappointed in my experience with Borer Chiropractic. I am bummed that this isn't a five star review and that my back issues have not been treated properly. I was having back/shoulder pain and limited range of motion. Dr. Rob Borer was recommended to me because he had a very gentle approach. Dr. Rob uses a clicky-tool to make adjustments and not his hands. At my first appointment, he adjusted me through manipulation with the clicky. After going to him twice a week for about 6 weeks, I started getting headaches after our appointments. The headaches became regular. Then, I started getting migraines after seeing Dr. Rob. I communicated this to Dr. Rob. He suggested taking xrays, because he said that I shouldn't be getting these migraines, and that maybe there is something going on with me that he wasn't aware of. The xrays shed light for Dr. Rob on the state of my spine. He said that it was good that he took xrays and that he was going to change his approach in how he adjusted me. My appointment after the X-ray assessment seemed better. Dr. Rob was more gentle than he previously. He even used something as a buffer between me and the clicky tool when he adjusted my neck. However, the next time I went to him, he didn't have the same approach as the time before. He took his clicky tool and adjusted me. I felt a migraine come on while I was still laying on the table. I asked him if he adjusted me differently, like last time, because of my X-rays. Well, he had actually forgotten all about the xrays and the new/different approach. His response to me was "I didn't change anything about how I adjusted you, I adjusted you like I did last time." Wait.... What? I didn't even say anything. I knew right then that I had to stop going to him and that he was not going to help me. I vigilantly communicated with him about my symptoms before every adjustment. He took lots of notes. I really had faith in him helping me, and went to him like he instructed me to, which was twice a week. I went to him twice a week for a total of three months. I went to him up until the time after my xray review, when it was extremely obvious that he did not have my xrays in mind at all during the adjustment. The aftermath: it is now almost three months since the last time I went to Dr. Rob Borer. I struggle with intense migraines DAILY. They are 100%, directly a result of my adjusts from Dr. Rob. I have been to my doctor several times for migraines in the past three months. I have a referral for a physical medicine doctor that I will finally see next week, after a two month long waitlist. I am on a daily medication for migraines, to try to prevent them. On top of that, I have two separate prescriptions as over-the-counter medications have not helped at all. I also bought specific glasses for migraines, so the light sensitivity associated with migraines doesn't have such an effect on me. I had to buy these (expensive and extremely stupid looking) green-light-filtering glasses to be able to go into work every day. I was struggling to work every day in a brightly lit office and the glasses help make my work environment more bearable. Sunny days are very difficult for me. Bright lights trigger my migraines. It is important to note that after I stopped going in for chiropractic appointments, I called up there to speak with Dr. Rob and tell him what was going on and why I stopped coming in. I couldn't reach him directly on the phone, but I did explain on his voicemail that I stopped coming in because I was getting bad migraines. I was hoping he would have make a new plan of action. I was hoping that he would get back to me with something.... Anything! But I did not hear back from him at all. My biggest piece of advice if you go to Dr. Rob is if you have chronic back pain, insist he take xrays before he does any manipulation. Talk with him BEFORE each adjustment about what he is about to do, so you can remind him of your plan of action every time. I do realize that my side effects from Dr. Rob's adjustments are very rare. But the pain and discomfort I now deal with on a daily basis can be all-consuming and debilitating and I felt responsible to share my experience. I'm going to end this on a positive, and that is to say I honestly enjoyed each visit to Borer Family Chiropractic. The receptionist Audrey is truly a delight. I loved all of my conversations with her that I have had while waiting for appointments or while I was checking out. I also had pleasant conversations with Dr. Rob. Extremely disappointed to find out that Dr Borer is a covid denier. I don't feel that the clinic is a safe place during the pandemic, and I'm furious with myself for not doing better research before my first visit, since it means I'll have to go through the intake process somewhere else. I also just realized that their website promises "$87 DOLLARS FLAT RATE FOR CONSULTATION, ADJUSTMENT, EXAMINATION AND X-RAY IF NEEDED"... They did the exam and X-ray but had me schedule a different appointment for adjustment, and said that would be $40-something dollars. Edit: Just so that we're clear, it wasn't the lack of masks at the office that make me think Borer is a covid denier (though every other medical professional I saw over the summer was still wearing them) it was a series of social media posts that were forwarded to me by someone familiar with him - articles from right-wing propaganda sites about how masks don't work and covid numbers are fake, among other egregious Trump-train material. read more

Since 2018, Dr. Robert Borer has, much to my skeptical mind's surprise, successfully treated my neck pain, back pain and most recently, hip pain! In 2018, I had started a new job answering phones all day, which totally kinked up my neck. Within a few weeks, Dr. Borer had gently and effectively remedied that issue. Over the last year, I have also seen Dr. Borer for lower back issues, which he addressed quickly and effectively as well. My visits have been always been to treat a specific problematic issue. Over the last 3 years, I have also been diagnosed with recurring hip bursitis. I have done physical therapy and even, out of desperation, treated it with cortisone shots which provided a short-term relief. Unfortunately it is always aggregated again by any type of repetive motion activity. Ultimately, I have had to scale back on such activity. However, last week, my 51-year old self was feeling pretty good at the gym, and I totally overdid it on the elliptical and stair climber. The next day, I could barely walk. I couldn't sleep - every move was excruciating, getting up from a seated position was agony. I was beside myself and about to call the pain clinic to set up yet another cortisone shot. Then I had a light bulb moment as I recalled that last year, while Dr. Borer was treating me for back pain, I remember saying to him, that although my back was feeling better, I was suprised how much better my hip was feeling too - an added benefit I wasn't expecting. So, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Borer hoping that it might help my hip again, this time intentionally! I was able to get an appointment the very next day! (I love the scheduling app the office uses- it is wonderful - so easy, flexible and such convenient time slots.) Within 24 hours of my appointment, I went from thinking I may never be able to exercise again, to 90% better. People at work thought I had been faking it the day before. There was such a change in how I could move! I was able to sleep without pain! One more appointment, and I think I will be back to . I think I will be able to resume my morning walks next week! All if this before I probably could have even gotten in to see a doctor at the pain clinic. I'm just amazed... and so grateful! I have a whole new appreciation for the Chiropractic profession. I just love it here at Borer Chiropractic. I have been to 2 other chiropractors since my car accident in 2017 and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have fewer headaches and I feel better overall, especially my back/neck pain. Every time I drop in to see Dr. Sherri I always leave feeling better than when I walked in. I know I can depend on her to truly take the time to listen to me and she is very educated in knowing how to care for me, so I get the best results. I am so thankful I found Dr. Rob at Borer Family Chiropractic! I had neck problems after suffering a concussion almost two years ago, and I finally decided to try chiropractic care, despite my insurance not covering it. I knew right away that this was someplace special, and after receiving treatment I feel infinitely better and have much more confidence in my body's capabilities. Here are some of the wonderful things about this place: - Dr. Rob is very knowledgeable and thorough. The initial tests and consultations included X-rays, a detailed analysis of all the angles and rotations of my spine, spine flexibility tests, medical and accident history, among many other things -- it was far more thorough than any other chiropractor I've been to. He found that I've had a spine condition for a while, but that the concussion exacerbated it. - His treatment technique is very precise. Dr. Rob does movement tests every time I go in to determine exactly what vertebrae are upset so that he only needs to adjust the ones causing the problem. This means no cracking, no crazy twisting, and knowing exactly what the problem is and how the progress is going. - Dr. Rob truly cares. The structure of the appointments, which include 10 minutes of rest time, help to make each adjustment as effective as possible. He also gives you an audio clip describing all the things you can do to help make your adjustments last as long as possible, giving you the maximum benefit. He wants to help your body heal and your spine to stay aligned on its own so you won't need chiropractic care forever. - Dr. Rob gives you his time. In my first appt, I asked a million questions and didn't realized until afterward that we had gone about half an hour past what I'm guessing what my appointment slot time. Despite this, I never felt like Dr. Rob was rushing the appt. Instead, he answered all my questions very patiently and thoroughly while giving me his full attention. Nearing the end he even asked a few times if there were any other questions he could answer or any other worries he could allay. - You can be an active participant in your own care. If I am feeling sore in a new spot or have been experiencing new problems, Dr. Rob happily checks into them for me. He clearly wants you to feel better and listens to you to help make this happen. You can also work together to design your schedule to make sure it's within your time and financial capabilities. - The online scheduler is easy-peasy. I love it! If you're not a fan of online scheduling, Audrey at the front desk is super great and can do it for you. Also, it's a-maz-ing how much flexibility there is with scheduling. - They work with you on payment options. As I said above, my insurance didn't cover this. They had several different pricing plans and payment schedule options, and it very much felt like they were trying to make the payment easy on me. (By the way, my treatment has been worth every out-of-pocket penny.) Before receiving treatment with Dr. Rob, I was limited in the activities I would do; I wouldn't do things like go bowling or lift anything even mildly heavy. I was nervous to carry in the groceries from the car in case it would upset my neck and cause me not to be able to turn my head for the next week. I've been seeing Dr. Rob Borer for over a year now. Migraines run in my family and unfortunately I was prone to getting them more than a few times a week. I have taken medications, gotten massages, changed my eating habits and I still was not finding relief. One day I came across a coupon for Borer Family Chiropractic and decided why not? What did I have to lose? As it turns out, my neck was completely out of alignment putting a lot of pressure on my head. Dr. Rob was extremely helpful in keeping me informed of the progress (or lack of progress) I was having with each visit. I started out with weekly appointments then after about two months, I was down to every other week. Now I am finally down to once a month (success!). From personal experience, I could tell my health was improving as my migraines were getting down to once a week to now maybe two to three times a month. That a is a HUGE difference from where I was a year ago. Even without insurance, I have found the appointments to be affordable and worth it if you are in pain like I used to be. My 11 year old sons 6 day migraine went away within 24 hours after one adjustment. My son is quite active and has hit his head a few times over the past month...and years. One recent hit was on the pool doing backstroke several weeks ago that left him dizzy and in pain. He seemed to get better but when he came home last Wed with the worst headache of his life with dizziness, weak neck muscles and focal pain on the side of his head I was worried about post concussion. It is the worst feeling in the world to see your child having pain like that and not having answers. His doctor diagnosed a migraine and sent us with medicine that lasted the weekend. The instructions were to take him to ER if it got worse. It didn't get ER worse but didn't get better either. I used essential oils, migraine medicine and ibuprofen, with some gentle massage to his neck and upper traps trigger points. It helped relieve symptoms but did not fix the problem. He missed 6 days of school due to the pain and difficulty sleeping. I knew from personal experience that it was possible his neck was out of place pressing on a nerve. We made an appointment with Dr Borer and sure enough after careful assessment and X-rays he came to the same conclusion. The adjustment was made at the discovery session and by that night he was much better with only tenderness. Within 24 hours his personality was back and I had to remind him to be careful while playing laser tag with his brother. At his second visit 2 days later he did not need to get an adjustment because his neck stayed. We will do more checks over the next month and then only if we see a need. I am so grateful that I had been going to him for my back issues and shudder to think my son could still be in terrible pain. Dr Borer doesn't rope you in to tons of visits. Started using Borer Chiropractic through a Groupon I had purchased, and honestly wasn't expecting such amazing results! I figured I'd get a quick crack crack, and mediocre massage out of the deal. HOWEVER, Dr. Borer was amazingly thorough, and took his time evaluating everything from my posture, my past history, my x-rays etc. It wasn't like other chiros I had visited in the past who got me in and out in 15 minutes. He really took his time to pin-point the problem and focused solely on that area. I felt results almost immediately, and after just a short time of visits felt I no longer needed treatment! Not only is Dr. Borer great, but his massage therapist Amanda gave the absolute best massage I've ever gotten (I've had alot)! This chick is tough, and I left feeling sooooo relaxed. For a couple of years, when I would drive for long distances I would experience sciatica in my right leg. Then last summer I took a spill down a flight of stairs and started to experience occasional numbness in my left hand and headaches almost every day. I'm so glad I gave chiropractic care with Dr. Rob Borer a try. I was pretty skeptical about whether it would make a difference... but I had suffered from severe neck tension and pain, and ensuing migraines, for years. During the initial consultation, which was very thorough and pinpointed a lot of physical problems I never knew I had, Dr. Rob did an xray of my neck and found that not only was it not curved as it should be, but that it even curved a little bit in the wrong direction! No bueno! The xray and other diagnostic measures allow Dr. Rob to be very precise and directed in his intervention. I get a little, quick, painless neck adjustment and although it took a little while, this eventually did the trick, and now my neck pain is drastically reduced, and my migraines are completely gone. Whew! What a relief! I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you're on the fence at all, just go. I bet you'll be glad you did! read more
