Sorry to say it but was left disappointed considering I had heard good things. I was super observant while my friend tried on dresses and we went to a nearby restaurant after and we agreed it wasn't the most pleasant experience. 3 girls in at the one time was ridiculous. It was boiling in your shop and if I could feel the heat, then so could my friend who was sweltering getting changed. The assistant kept looking at her watch. It felt like she couldn't wait to get out of there or get rid of us. My friend was shocked that she had no privacy changing as she was dressed with two other staff and also in front of two other girls. She loves one of your dresses but she said she prob won't be going back again as it was like a cattle mart. I think you should review your tactics as I was up from London and you would never see three girls in a tiny space.

The only reason I did not purchase a dress was due to the fact I fell in love with a dress that was double my original budget, and I didn't want to put my parents in that position. I would DEFIANTLY recommend this store to any bride to be. However my advice is to only try dresses that are within your budget/price you are able to stretch to. The experience actually brought me to tears when I left. I was made to feel second best (there was another family in the shop so we were sat to the side). Every time the lady "dressing" me left the cubicle she left the curtain half open and I'm very body conscious. She suggested everything I said I didn't want and never made sure I looked ok before asking me to show my family (one dress I refused to walk out in because it was 2 sizes too small but she'd done nothing to make it look nicer or cover me up in anyway. In the end we couldn't get out of there fast enough. I was so upset about the whole experience I don't want anyone else to go through what I did that day. Please don't let them dent your confidence like they did me.

After a bit of a trip and quite a few missed exits I found the shop and... I cannot recommend it highly enough! It is an absolute treasure trove of dresses in loads of different shapes. The owner Donna couldn't have been nicer and really encouraged me to try on different things to see what I liked/disliked with no pressure or the stupid 1 hour limit which I have encountered in other wedding shops. She didn't even mind when I phaffed about looking at all the bridesmaid dresses and had said I wasn't buying until next year). The dresses are beautiful plus the prices are, well gobsmackingly cheap. This shop puts other wedding shops to shame - I just wish it was nearer Cardiff, but then I guess the prices would be a lot higher! It was however a bit hot down there and the poor bride did once faint after standing there for some time in her heavy dress and probably not eating anything to slim herself down! The fitting rooms are really airy and spacious, with floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and there are plenty of accessories (shoes, tiaras, etc) to try along with the dresses. Secondly, the staff go out of their way to welcome brides (and their tag-along shopping buddies!) and help them find the perfect dress for their big day - and they also carry stock for bridesmaids, and for mothers of the bride and groom. And finally, the shop carries some beautiful dresses (although obviously this comes down to taste!) from some of the industry's most respected designers - including Ritva Westenius who has dressed the likes of Jane Seymour and Faye Dunaway. The dress designs are gorgeous and I never in one million years thought I would look good in a wedding dress. But so many people at the wedding were amazed, and the groom was surprised and very touched. The shop is incredible and makes you feel very special. We were lucky as we live within easy travelling distance. But there are others who travel literally hundreds of miles and stop overnight, which just shows the quality of service and the fact that so few places seem to cater for the larger bride. We decided to get married and arranged everything in 3 weeks, whilst our daughter was only 4 weeks old. After browsing the web I came across Big Beautiful Brides. After calling the owner I had an appointment at short notice (3 HOURS) and found my beautiful wedding dress, for my wedding that was held on 9th September 2009 (09-09-09). They had all the accessories, veil, tiara, necklace, everything that I needed. I even purchased a second gown for our wedding garden party, which was held a few days later. I needed 3 fittings, (especially as my body was changing due to child birth). As it was short notice they arranged for the dress alterations to be completed whilst I was in the shop, to ensure a prefect fit, before I took both gowns away. Yes, it a was nerve racking time, hoping that all would be completed in time, but the shop owner put me at ease. The owner and her assistant even came to our home in Hereford on the morning of my wedding to dress me, to make sure I looked perfect and travelled to our wedding venue to ensure I looked perfect to walk up the aisle. You can not really put into words what this bridal shop done for us to make our day perfect. Oh by the way ..... we got married at 09.09am on 09-09-09. To be honest we didn't need an okay appointment so I pre-warned my sister that it could be similar to the weeks before. My experience was quite opposite. We rocked up a little early to the store at 2.20pm. We were greeted professionally by my sister's name in a friendly manner and jackets were taken. The only information she asked us was if we wanted tea, could she take our jackets, wedding date, had my sister tried on dresses before and what styles were we interested in. To be honest we had no preference of style as we have had a mixed bag of shopping recently. But i felt the questions gave both parties an idea of what we wanted and how she could help us. We were then left in peace to browse while she prepared tea. I actually secretly counted the dresses as my sister browsed as I was curious from the review which said all the dresses were the same. From what I could see there was (and don't hold me to this) approx. - 17 fishtail, 13 aline and 1 very slinky summer dress with a huge slit ....eek (this included the mannequin dresses which were all fishtail on the window). All dresses had different necklines from off the shoulders to strapless, v neck to sleeves and of course some were simple double laces to sparkle dresses. I know I watched my sister in a few of them. She also made a wild card suggestion if the bride wanted to opt for this option to give those a chance of choosing something the bride may have overlooked. Its a good idea as my sister went away with a wild card option. My sister left the store with a smile and thinking about two dresses (one fishtail and also the slinky slit dress) I liked the no sales pressure approach but she rewards if you know that one of her dresses is your wedding dress. She was also one of the only stores to allow photographs so we could look back at the two favourites. Thanks for that. Sara also tried on beautiful lace veils, sparkle edged veils and a soft, Italian tulle veil which suited depending on the look you want. Perfect to go with the dresses. Perfect if find a dress elsewhere but want a special veil. Its maybe worth a trip back for that also if she does opt for a different dress elsewhere. My family enjoyed this experience. Three dresses brought my mother to tears at certain times and considering we have been to other stores that have turned us away or been okay, I believe my sister will try one more store before making her mind up on whether any of these two dresses are her dress. She doesn't have time on her side either with an early spring wedding so maybe we will return or maybe she shall find her dress elsewhere. Thank you for the pleasant experience. We will definitely be back for a bridesmaid session and if not maybe a veil.
