I also got a reminder e-mail from the clinic that I should go in for more dental work to take advantage of the full insurance allocation for the fiscal year - or something to that effect. I don't approach dental care with such a financial gain perspective nor of going after work you don't really need simply to maximize your benefits out. Rather, I would prefer to get the work done that I need without doing excessive work or adding on a host of additional services that aren't actually essential or really needed. Having said that, Dr. Nowysz and her team are always extremely nice and friendly. She was great with my kids and I had a positive dental exam the one time I did see her. She also does charitable work for free in Latin America routinely and I have a huge amount of respect for that and her voluntary spirit. So I would recommend her, but be firm in saying "no" if you get the impression she is proposing additional things you don't actually need or perhaps get the feeling she is exaggerating an issue that might not be as intensive as she suggested (she had a high priority treatment my daughter needed which I declined as we were traveling and two years later my daughter's teeth are just fine, no issues so obviously the treatment wasn't that critical or urgent).

I offered to come on Monday or Tuesday at 5. Nope we can't do. Would you refund me the first visit. Nope we can't do, It is like playing a game of "Mother May I". In 62 years, a dentist has never, not once rescheduled, let alone for an internal business meeting. I have had dentists come in after hours for a root canal. When a judge tells me to be in court, I don't look in my schedule book, and say, gee, judge, you are going to have to reschedule. They are supposed to be PROFESSIONALS!!! NOTE: I checked with a long dentist I had in another college town. I was informed than other than patient emergencies and a dentist getting sick, they have not in their memory (which is long) rescheduled on a patient. I suspected as much. Had an infection hit full force over the weekend, and got ahold of Hart Dentistry's after hours number. 9:00 this morning they had me in and I'm now one tooth and one massive infection less.. and so far feeling much better already!
