I've been here a few times now, and as it's my first experience with physiotherapy, I might be…read moreexpecting too much. But overall, I've not been very impressed.
My first visit I was late - I had allowed plenty of time (I have been 20 minutes early every time since, leaving the same amount of time every occasion). When I called to let them know, the woman on the phone was rude and snippy, and told me that my therapist was fully booked and might not be able to see me. Okay, my fault, but no need to be like that. In the end, I was 10 minutes late and so my 20 minute appointment was cut in half. He just gave me some stretches to do and did a quick questionnaire with me.
2nd and 3rd visits both involved my bad foot having some ultrasound therapy, and both appointments were the full 20 minutes even though the therapist was running late - 10-15 minutes - both times. The 3rd visit also featured a medical student, who wasn't very bright but to be honest, it's not hard to do the ultrasound treatment once someone else sets the machine.
Today my 20 minute appointment lasted 15, and was just the physio giving me some different exercises to do, and a print out of them. What a waste of my time.
I have one more appointment to come and I don't really see the point. I think the problem is that I was referred as an NHS patient, so I get 5 appointments on NHS and then they send me back to the GP. Because I'm not paying, I definitely feel I'm not getting the same level of service as their private clients.
Oh well, NHS for the win, I guess. The physio does seem to know what he's talking about and is a very nice, courteous man.
