Found in the West End, it is slightly off the main shopping streets but worth the detour. Primarily it is a lingerie shop, and it has a good selection of pretty, dare I say it rauchy, stuff. Obviously as a guy, and a non-transvestite, I have a different criteria of what makes underwear hot, and Boobytrap delivers. Not quite as provocative (let's be frank slutty) as Ann Summers, think more La Senza - sexy but with a touch more class. No crotchless knickers here or nipple tassles. As well as this, we have the unusual addition of a café. Whether all the raunchiness has left you feeling a bit weak at the knee, or are a girl chatting about what to buy, or simply a guy way way out of his depth, the café is a place to chill out. They do a good range of teas, coffees and sandwiches which you can enjoy before heading off for round two. An individul and enjoyable place to spend about half an hour, whether as a couple or on your own (buying gifts, not perving - I am not endorsing this).

Not something previously thought possible; however this delightful little boutique cum tea shop nestled in quaint William Street, offers up lashings of designer labels with their stock of rarely found lingerie and on-hand, but entirely unobtrusive, specialist advice. Allthewhile a temptation of an altogether contrasting variety beckons from the rear where pretty colours and designs lay in wait in the form of beautiful cupcakes and freshly brewed coffee; an utter indulgence of the senses!

Bravado is such a fabulous lingerie and underwear store…read more It is situated on the busy and bustling Morningside Road in Edinburgh and so it is very easy to reach it as it is close to the city centre. They specialise in ladies underwear and they offer a huge selection of different sizes, styles and shapes of lingerie. Bravado also sells swimwear, nightwear and dressing gowns. The staff in the store are incredibly warm, inviting and highly knowledgeable about their stock. Bravado do bra fittings which are very accurate and the staff are happy to recommend which styles of shapes of underwear they think would suit your shape best. Bravado also sell maternity swimwear and underwear, as well as specially made mastectomy bras which can be very hard to come by. The range of underwear which Bravado stocks is quite amazing and it is all very reasonably priced considering how specially made all the items. Bravado is definitely the place I go to for fantastic fitting underwear and nightwear - I cannot recommend it more highly. GO!

It's a delightful boutique geared towards an older style of fashion and a slightly older audience. The dresses and coat sets are timelessly fashionable, lending their inspiration from the elegance of the 50s. Some of the hats and skirts reminded me of how Audrey Hepburn looked in My Fair Lady when she was parading around at Ascot. The cocktail dresses look like they'd fit like a glove, and are all very high quality. They are priced accordingly, but it would definitely be worth it if you were going to a wedding. Places like Chique are few and far between these days, but it's great that this little boutqiue still exists as it has the older fashioned manner of customer service (i.e it's friendly and personal!), and the dresses are gorgeous. However, on closer inspection, I realise that this store is actually anything but dowdy and charity shop worthy. It is a boutique clothing store stocking Mother of the Bride outfits and cocktail dresses from designers such as Gloria Estelles and Linea Raffaelli. Probably not household names to any of us under 30. They have loads of lovely outfits and dresses which would suit the older lady, maybe 40 plus, and they are costly to say the least. Expect to pay upward of £160 for a dress in here, and that's the cheaper end of the spectrum. The website probably showcases the outfits better so you can have a look before you go in, the only disadvantage be that there aren't any prices on the actual clothes. Always a sure sign of an expensive shop!

When I went in for a browse I realised they didn't just have one off pieces but the clothes still looked second hand for some reason... they just looked misshapen like they'd all been worn before. I did notice a few nice dresses with some floral prints but they were about the only pieces of clothing that tickled my fancy. I think their accessories are a lot nicer than the clothes and I saw some cute scarves and purses which would be great as gifts. I don't know... the stuff here just seems really bland and a little bit overpriced too.

It's spacious and bustling with multiple floors (women/men/children). There's a plethora of options to shop from clothes and shoes to accessories and fragrances. It was difficult to find an employee to ask questions as they easily blended in with shoppers. There was also a self check-out section, which I appreciated being able to bypass the long lines for time's sake and only a few items to purchase. I would stop in again without hesitation whenever I visit the area again.
