My mother-in-law came out to visit and she wanted to do a little shopping while she was in town. She's from a really small town in North Dakota. I was totally stoked that there was a sale. I love their stuff. When I walked in, I noticed that the employees here were not overly friendly right away. It made my mother-in-law feel awkward because they never came over and asked if we needed help. I would have to say they were a little standoffish. She said it made her feel like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman". Her words, not mine. Maybe because she was in gym attire? I don't know. It was rather annoying to me. I have been in high end stores and they don't normally act like that. I do enjoy being left alone when I am shopping, and I hate it when they come over every two seconds to see if you needed anything. But at the same time, I feel like you should always greet the customer at least once. Once I grabbed a few things off the rack, I was finally asked if I needed a room. I guess they want to ensure that you may potentially purchase something before they waste their time trying to help you. They must be really busy standing there... Will I come again? Probably not. I live in Longmeadow, and this store would be really convenient for me. We have to dress in business casual at work and I love Ann Taylor, I am also a shopaholic. But I will take my business elsewhere, a place where it isn't such a burden when it comes to helping their customers. read more

I love Ann Taylor and will shop with this brand almost exclusively for all my work dresses. However, I really dislike coming to this particular store as I've never felt welcomed by the staff. And after reading all these reviews below, it seems like I'm not alone in this thinking. I find that its the middle aged to older staff at this store who are more the type to be rude and turn up their noses. I never once get a greeting when I walk into the store, even when empty and there's an employee standing in the front.. they'll actually look away to avoid saying hi. When I return dresses I've ordered online, they'll dish out really critical and snobby attitude as if I've done something wrong. It's a freaking Ann Taylor - this store isn't selling luxurious high end stuff. I don't understand why these women think they have a right to act above any of their customers. The only times I do see these women interacting in a nice enough manner with customers are when the customers are white, middle-aged and dressed nicely. Not to pull out the race, age or status cards... but pretty sure anyone who visits this store (in a well-to-do suburbia town) regardless of appearance, can afford to buy something from this store and should be treated with respect. Even if they can't afford to buy anything or if they're just browsing, the customer service thing is pretty much mandatory for a retailer. If management is reading this - please review staff performance and coach them to deliver on customer service. If they're not competent enough to learn or step down from that pedestal they're putting themselves up on, terminate them and hire new people - that should drive sales up. read more

I buy most of my clothes @ AT but this particular branch has the worst sales staff. Unlike other ATs, they do not check on you, they are usually talking amongst themselves & overall they are not paying attention to the customers. read more

This was my first visit to Ann Taylor on Bliss Road, and an excellent sales representative treated me in a friendly and efficient manner. I walked in with a shipping box containing a too-large suit I had to return, and I wanted to shop before completing the transaction. Before I asked, the representative approached me and offered to take the box plus set up a room with the items I wanted to try on. She processed the return and a new purchase promptly. Thanks for the excellent service and help for a new customer who was worried about requesting a return during my first visit. read more

I was a little nervous from the other reviews, but I found the staff here to be helpful. This location has a lot of suiting, which was great for me. Lots of styles, colors and sizes. Good sale and clearance section too. Only complaint was that online and in Ann Taylor promotions it said it would be 60% off sale in stores and online, but in the store was 50% off. Not a huge deal but made me wish I had ordered online instead. read more

Beautiful store but the most rude two women I have ever met! They both think they are worth a million dollars but work retail maybe remind them of that, "They are retail clerks!" I had money to spend but was in work out clothes and I was like dirt the others dressed nicely had all their attention. I then made it obvious that I needed assistance and to my unbelief I was more of a nuisance. Maybe Julia Roberts from pretty woman should have walked in that store and said, " you work on commission?, oh well and flash the bags from another retailer! Be friendly is the advice to them and treat everyone equal!!!! Won't be back. read more
