MY GOODNESS, how much time do you have to read this review, because I could sit here and talk all day about Emily and her absolutely incredible team. I will do my very best to keep it concise as I know how valuable time is for my fellow brides :) My original wedding was planned for June of 2020, and I *magically* found Emily and Anna Delores via Pinterest. I was never a huge fan of wedding photos until I came across hers, and I immediately knew she was the girl for us. Just one conversation with Emily and I was sold - she is so incredibly professional, timely in her responses, made me feel at ease despite the mountain of work ahead of me, and even made recommendations to me about other vendors to use as I had mentioned I didn't have those secured just yet. Of course, we all know what happened as of March of 2020. As I tried my hardest to hold out, by early May we could see very clearly that the wedding we had planned would no longer go forward. While our other vendors negotiated with us on our cancellation, Emily went above and beyond and told me that we could keep her reserved as our wedding photographer, and we just needed to let her know the new wedding date once it was confirmed. Even though I hadn't the faintest idea when that would be, I knew Emily did not have to do that for us. Just a glimpse into what a special human being she really is. Shortly after my original wedding date, my dad passed away. This put my wedding on hold indefinitely, up until October 11th of this year. Throughout the 2+ years we waited, Emily became a good friend of mine, and the kindness and compassion she showed me during that time was so special and meant the world to me. As soon as we picked our second, new wedding date, we reached out to Emily immediately to ensure she was available. Not only did she make the trip up from Santa Barbara to San Francisco, but she was just as excited as we were that the day was finally here! I must also note that while we added on coverage time with her, she did not charge us anything additional for keeping her on retainer, despite all the time that had passed. When we were deciding to hire photographers we ultimately chose Emily because of three things 1.) other vendors were raving about her - not just her photography but her personality 2.) we clicked instantly when we chatted 3.) loved how she captured emotion and love in every shot. There are two parts that really stood out about Anna Delores and their amazing work during and after our Summer 2017 Santa Barbara wedding. The first was the pre-work and day-of photo coordination. And the second were the photographs themselves. I. The pre-work, call, and in-person meetings we had with Emily and (mostly) Rhianna turned out to be invaluable. She really got to know us over lunch, genuinely cared about our story and how to make that come alive during our wedding photographs. It never felt like a client-vendor relationship where it was transactional...quite the opposite. They were a very real and positive part of our experience, which in turn made for some very dear and personal moments captured wonderfully. Rhianna and Kelly's personalities are MADE for high-stress situations. They were both able to corral our over-exited families and friends in a very efficient and polite way. They were able to take some very coordinated photos with very large groups, and in parallel, also take amazing candid shots throughout the day/night. I didn't realize this until the day of our wedding, but you spend more time with your photographer than with anyone else...so it's extremely important that their personalities elicit re-assurance, confidence, and overall positive/happy vibes. They both nailed it!! What many other couples had told us about the 'grueling and tedious part of taking too many pictures' proved to be the total opposite. It was awesome and a lot of fun to be around them...they undoubtedly had a lot to do with setting the tone for the wedding. II. The pictures themselves were absolutely gorgeous. The composition, tones, and arrangements of the photos were so creative and elegant, they make you feel like you are right back there, living it all over again. (We made the mistake of opening the link late one night right before bed, and before we knew it we were still up at 3am on a work-day...they're that good!) Choosing a wedding photographer is SUCH a daunting task -- the good news is that because you are reading this review you have already discovered the magic of Anna Delores Photography and you don't need to search any more. Book them! Change your date if you have to -- they are so worth it! I had a destination wedding in California (I am from the east coast) and choosing ADP was the best decision I made! I met Emily and Rhianna the August before my June wedding for an engagement shoot while I was on vacation in Cali. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would have a California wedding, but after our awesome engagement session I just had a "good" feeling about these two and literally planned my private, intimate wedding around them being our photographers. They were quick to help me with vendor selections when I asked, and put me at ease by providing a timeline for the day. As anticipated, I was a ball of nerves the morning of my wedding and I can remember feeling so relieved when they arrived. I was a littler nervous that it would be weird having a camera crew following us around with only 9 guests for our private event, but the energy and enthusiasm they brought was absolutely perfect. They are fun, energetic, AND professional and their personalities really added to the event (without at all being overbearing). They were so thoughtful to bring some props like pretty hangers, vintage stamps, and other little touches that I hadn't thought to bring like ribbon for my bouquet. When the flowers I had on my place setting wilted in the Ojai heat they were quick to come up with a pretty solution. They surprised us by shooting with real film in addition to digital and even stayed past the time we had them booked for when things ran a little longer than anticipated! Truly the best money spent at the wedding was on Emily. She is worth every dime, people! From the first phone call, her energy was so great and made me feel relaxed. Our wedding was 3 months ago and still one of the first things our guests comment on when we talk to them is how amazing our photographers were. 2 of my bridesmaids have since booked them for their own weddings, with more of our friends to follow. As soon as we decided on our date and our location (Maui) I started looking for photographers local to our venue. I must have contacted every photographer on the island before realizing I wasn't finding what I was looking for and deciding I needed to start looking close to home. I met Emily and Rhianna at their studio in Ventura and we spent almost 3 hours together talking about the wedding, Hawaii, life, and more! After visiting the website and checking out Emily's portfolio, I knew Emily would be a perfect match. Rhianna (Associate Photographer for ADP) and her assistant Rachel were our photographer on the day of our wedding and oh my goodness were they really great. On our wedding day she even came a little early to take photos. She was very professional and really fun to work with. Rhianna not only took great photos on our wedding but she also helped a lot even with just little things like fixing my hair with her hair spray. I am 88 days into wedded bliss and totally miss being in wedding planning contact with Emily of Anna Delores Photography. When I first got introduced to Emily via my wedding planner, Emily and I talked on the phone for an HOUR!! Emily's energetic personality and knowledge shined through that convo, and I knew she was the one I wanted to work with - I didn't talk to any other wedding photographer vendors.
