There aren't enough words in the world to describe how much we loved working with Matt and his team at Rewind Photography during our wedding weekend in Santa Barbara! WOW! We absolutely loved working with Matt, Bex and Coral for our wedding in Santa Barbara. They had such a positive energy and vibe that channeled everywhere throughout the whole day. Words can't describe how amazing Matt is! My husband and I recently eloped in Santa Barbara and faced some dark clouds in regards to heavy rain the day of and both of us catching bronchitis just two days before. Matt worked with us to shoot over two days in order to capture our vision for our photos. Not only was he incredibly accommodating but his high level of experience was very obvious. He clearly scouted both locations ahead of our shoot times to check lighting, etc. He knew the best places at the courthouse for the most amazing shots. On our second day, we shot at our hotel (the El Encanto) and he was able to maximize our limited time to get all of the best shots on the property. This review is a little bit hard for me to write because these guys are just so awesome that I'm afraid my words won't do them justice. But I will try: My now-husband and I met Matt and Kristen at a bridal expo in Santa Barbara about a year before our wedding. We already knew we were getting married in the Court House's Mural Room, where flash photography is not allowed. Before meeting them I had only considered photographers who had mural room photos I could see. Rewind did not have any, but we were so drawn to their energy and excitement that we booked them right away. Over the next year, they kept in contact to get the details and timeline squared away. I never had to reach out to them - they were always on top of getting me in line and getting me ready for the big day. We just received our photos and they are so unbelievably beautiful. The thing is, Matt and Kristen are not just photographers - they're artists. The composition and lighting in the photos is breathtaking. They are truly works of art that I know we will cherish forever. And their work in the mural room is fantasitic. It's far superior to any mural room wedding photographs I've seen from other photographers. We rented the photo booth for the wedding too. I'm really glad we did, especially since we had considered cancelling it to save money (when you're planning a wedding, you get to a point where you need to find ways to cut back or else it will get out of hand). The guests loved the booth, of course, and it takes really good pictures. Plus, I didn't realize this when we rented it, but all the pictures from the booth were included in the final photos we received. Lastly, these guys are photo ninjas. As we were looking through the pictures, we kept commenting that we hadn't even realized certain moments were being photographed. They somehow managed to be completely unintrusive yet still able to capture so many special moments. AMAZING!!!! is how we would describe our wedding photography experience with Matt and Kristen of Rewind Photography. My husband and I planned our wedding from across the country and only met them on the day of the wedding. We had the pleasure of working with Matt at Rewind Photography as our photographer for our wedding this past April. We had interview a few photographers but we knew as soon as our meeting ended with Matt, we know he was our guy. My husband and I both said to each other "he is the type of guy we would both want around on our wedding day". Matt was our photographer for our el encanto wedding earlier this week. It was an absolute pleasure working with him and I could totally tell that he loves what he does for a living. My fiance and I tried to talk to Matt about doing our wedding photos. We met with him in Jan '16 and after being asked about many personal things by him, he seemed nice and professional enough, so we asked him to send over the contract. After giving him a few reminders and 20 days, we finally got it. The contract didn't specify that he would be one of the photographers, did not say how long after the wedding until the photos would be ready, and also said Rewind could basically do whatever they want with the photos, meaning they could post or sell wherever they wanted. I didn't think these were make-or-break issues, but when I simply asked Matt if he could add them to the contract or explain them, he said simply that he wouldn't change anything, that we were "at an impasse", and we were not a good fit for him. My fiance and I felt that this was quite rude, especially for somebody who expects to be able to ask so many personal things of people, and should be used to working with people on an important matter. He didn't refer us to anybody on his own, but when I asked, he gave us some recommendations, and one did end up being our photographer. We liked the new photographer because when we told him any concerns, he simply talked us through them, and we worked something out, unlike Matt at Rewind. 1/18/17: After seeing Matt's response below, I'm lowering my rating from 2 to 1 star. Matt says, "After reading your review, I've tried to open a channel multiple times to discuss your concerns and address your feedback through email and messages. As I haven't been able to connect with you there, I'll respond here." Actually, he did email me once, and I responded that I thought my review was fair, and that I was sure he'd be able to increase his Yelp rating with other positive reviews. That's where the messaging ended. Saying he wasn't able to connect with me and that he tried multiple times is simply a lie. I just wasn't willing to change my review simply because he asked me to. He also says, "The eContract was sent to you from my eContract service within 48 hours after receiving your email request (received 2/5/17, send 2/7/16). When I heard back from you 10 days later on 2/17/16 saying you did not receive the email, I resent it directly from my email account so it didn't get caught in your spam filter." I actually requested the contract on 1/31/16 looking at my emails, and this was after meeting him once and him saying that he would already send it. I then asked for the 2nd time on 2/5, then the 3rd time on 2/17. He sent it on 2/17 with a link in his email but also with another email from "cudasign.com", which is the domain that he claims was causing the filter to my junk mail. Since I received that email, it shows that it was not going to my junk mail, but that it simply wasn't sent. Not that this is that big of deal in the first place, but to lie about so much deserves calling out. read more

Let me start by saying the Matt and Kristen are amazing photographers!!! All of our photos turned out amazing, they even caught some I didn't know they were taking. LOL We will hire them again in the future for all our photography needs. My sister said to me, "don't skimp on the photographer, they will provide you with what will be memories for you to look back on forever." I went into the process of finding a photographer with that in mind. My husband, Fred and I (fiance at the time) met Matt at a Wedding Fair in SB. This was our 3rd wedding fair and had already met with about 15 photographers. A GREAT photographer was what we were looking for at that point. We were about a year away from our wedding and I was worried we wouldn't find "the one". (We had been looking at photographers for about 6 months) I called Matt a few weeks later and asked him to come talk to us at our venue. He said sure and we set up an appointment. When Matt arrived we could feel his positive energy and felt comfortable with him right away. When we saw his work it was Love at First Site. Fred looked at me and said lets hire him! (This was the first and only vendor he chimed in on.) So we hired him. Over the year before our wedding Matt kept in touch. Came to different locations with me where I wanted photos done, answered lots of phone calls and emails with lots of questions. He even helped me get our film permit from the State of California (we did our wedding party photos at the mission before the ceremony.) The day of the wedding they showed up early and ready to work. They were all over the place taking photos of everything. They climbed up on things, crawled on the ground and did what ever they had to for the perfect shot. It all paid off! We have the most amazing photos. I believe they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and that our vision was captured. These photos will be with us forever and when we are old and grey with a failing memory we will be able to look back on them and feel the love. I have to gush about Matt once more. My now-husband and I were lucky enough to have a non-profit organization cater our wedding--the proceeds were donated to youth communities in the area. My uncle volunteers for this club and was hard at work preparing the food for our guests when we started our family photos. In all the hustle, I did not notice my uncle's absence. If you are researching wedding photography, STOP NOW AND BOOK REWIND PHOTOGRAPHY! If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would! My words will not even remotely be able to describe how incredible my experience was with them. I just got married, and I don't even have my photographs yet, but I don't even need them to write this review. Matt and Kristen bent over backwards to make sure my husband and I got everything we wanted and more on our wedding day. We were on a very strict budget for our wedding, and Matt was able to work with our budget without any hassle, while still giving us the coverage we needed. They made us a detailed schedule for all photography sessions, traveled to three, yes, THREE different locations for us due to timing constraints at the venue, and did not charge us extra for going a half hour over coverage time. They were there to answer every question I had and even Skyped with us to confirm that the plans were fit exactly to our needs and specifications. Matt and Kristen were both very energetic and positive, and made our photography sessions so much fun! Rewind Photography did a fabulous job with the photography for our company holiday party. Matt was very professional and extremely helpful. Matt worked with us to make sure the pictures turned out great and the whole experience went smoothly. From the moment we first spoke with him on the phone, he made it a point to understand our requirements and expectations. He came out prior to the event to scope out where things would be situated and measured the space and checked the lighting conditions. He also coordinated with our party decorator to ensure the theme of the party would be reflected in the pictures. The evening of the party went very smoothly. Matt arrived early to set up and was ready before any guests arrived. He took photos of the guest and printed lovely high quality prints on site.
