I'm surprised to see all these glowing reviews for Anna. She must have some good friends. She's a pit bull and not in a good way. She will only respond until she gets paid. We had a real estate attorney review some documents she insisted that we sign as buyers and it turns out that there was no need to sign them. She also asked for copies of financial statements that even our lender didn't ask for and we learned she shared the information with the selling agent. So much fiduciary responsibility. She's a shark and does not have your best interest in mind. All she cares about is her commission and how fast she can get it. Her tactics are less than honorable and I suspect in some cases, not even legal. Stay away unless you want a headache once you're too far in to turn around. We are sad to say that we had a very negative experience with Ms. Ow. When you choose someone as important as an agent to sell your home you want an ally - but from almost the first moment, we never felt that with her. To the contrary, we felt like we were always fighting with her or pushing her to fight for us. We've worked with other realtors since then buying and selling two properties, and renting one other, and they were all very positive experiences - no drama, no issues, no hesitation at all to recommend. There was never a doubt that these other realtors were on our side. Not so with Ms. Ow. We were sorely disappointed with her. We had a few issues arise during our selling process and considered pulling our house from the market and/or renting instead of selling. We felt (and feel now in hindsight) that these options would have been better for us but she never seriously considered them. We felt that she just didn't want to deal with our house anymore when it didn't sell as quickly as we had all hoped and just wanted to close any deal she could to be done with it. As we were making important decisions we just never felt that she was truly on our side. Here were our main concerns: a) We interviewed a number of realtors before deciding who to use to list our house. One of the main reasons we went with her is that she told us she limits the number of clients she works with at one time so each client gets lots of attention. This turned out to be inaccurate, at least when we worked with her. She always had multiple clients and seemed unable to figure out how to juggle us all. She apparently thought our house would sell in one weekend. When it didn't she appeared to essentially drop us - on the second weekend she planned to come to neither of the open houses we had scheduled. She begrudgingly agreed to come to one after we reminded her how unfair this lack of attention was. But - REALLY? On weekend TWO we have to convince you, our realtor being paid to sell our home, to even show up to one open house day? b) We felt that she was filtering information and we never quite knew the full picture. We overheard another agent complain to Ms. Ow that she had asked her to be in touch before we accepted any other offers as her client wanted the house badly and so her client could consider making a higher bid. We were never told this by Ms. Ow and apparently Ms. Ow did not do this (something that could have bumped up our price). This agent represented a client Ms. Ow was always dismissive of and didn't think would come through (turns out she was wrong - they ultimately bought our home) so she kept trying to steer us away from them. This cost us a lot of money in the end. c) Communication was awful. We constantly had to beg for information about what was going on. She seemed annoyed when we asked. Sorry to want to know what's going on but this was the first house we ever sold and it was kind of a big deal to us! d) We felt that she was extremely reluctant to negotiate or bid on our behalf. She wanted us to just accept what was offered without going back and forth at all. e) We felt that she was focused on the negatives of our home (any home has them) not the positives (of which there were many). We truly regretted choosing Ms. Ow by the end of our experience. I am glad that others had more positive experiences but one thing I note is that the positive reviews mostly seem to relate to quick transactions. I think when something doesn't move as quickly as she wants she simply moves on to the next one. We would never recommend Ms. Ow to anyone. read more

We just closed on our condo in Redwood Shores. It was an amazing / whirlwind experience. We recently sold our home with Anna Ow as our listing agent. We are extremely happy with both the process and results. We interviewed several possible listing agents, and we chose Anna based on a combination of her focus on and track record in the area where we lived as well as her professional demeanor.
