They have jewellery from local designers and do a good job of promoting this fact, with the pieces organised by who created them, and with a profile of the artist on display. I was particularly taken with some stuff by John Walters, who makes intricately detailed pop-culture icons out of silver. They also have a good range of goth stuff (skulls, scorpions, those weird pointy finger-armour things that Marilyn Manson wears sometimes) which didn't appeal to me but no doubt will to some people. The prices range, so although you'll pay quite a bit if you want a big piece, you can get smaller things like earrings for less than thirty bucks. The lady behind the counter was friendly, and was happy to let us try anything on if we wanted.

The guy was told about it, he told us to pull it really hard. The fault kept happening, so we took it back. He's now had the watch for months, and today when I called him up, he denied any knowledge of the fault that he's already seen, and when I said that wasn't good enough, I got a lovely tirade of aggressive abuse. It's a shame when you have to tell a grown man to stop yelling at you. I expect this will end up in small claims, but unless you enjoy wasting money and being treated like dirt, I'd keep well away from this cowboy.

From highly wearable rings, necklaces, brooches, and bracelets, to high-art pieces that would look equally good displayed on a wall at home as they would on a human body, Fingers has hands down the most exciting range of contemporary jewellery in town. The shop is not a huge store however has so much selling that you are just spoilt for choice. The owners have put their heart into the foundations and you feel this, as you browse the shelves. If you want to buy an original kiwi gift, this is where you should look. The highlight of this store for me is the Home Textiles Range, really vibrant and creative designs on Table cloths, Table Runners, Tea Towels, and Cushions too, all reflecting creativity, and culture, and it makes me remember that we are living in the largest pacific island city .
