I visited this library today for the first time since the total renovation. During the pandemic, it was open on a limited basis, and you had to make an appointment online. Now it is open to walk ins. It is a very bright, spacious, and modern space. I perused some of the aisles, but it will take me a while to find everything, which is OK (I love time spent just wandering a library). The staff is very helpful, and anxious to assist patrons. Masks are still needed and they have blocked off some seating for social distancing, but otherwise, it is back to business as usual. Such a welcoming airy & fresh space with plenty of room to devote focused attention & materials to peruse. Amy & Suzanne- just a few of the wonderful librarians/ staff, eager to help & address my concerns; I'm so glad I stopped by. They have added quite a few new materials to the library & I can't wait to spend more time here. Please note library will be doing curb side pick up starting Monday 8/17-until further notice; because some people are not following instructions regarding masks during a pandemic. I had an excellent experience at this library! Just moving to the area and needed to print out some forms. But then I realized I needed a library card. The lady at the information desk was very friendly, looked me up in the system from 10 years ago, updated my info and gave me a new card. Then she walked me through their system to sign up for a computer station and I was online in no time! We're allowed to print 5 free pages per day and then it only costs 5 cents or something to print additional pages. I felt like I won the lottery. Thanks public library! FYI- new accounts need to provide some proof of address like a utility bill or mail with your address on it. Not sure about their selection of books because I was just using their internet but it is a cute library and I could definitely hang out. There were people of all ages surfing the internet, reading, gathered in small conversations, studying in the quiet room...and they all seemed content. read more

I like this library a lot. It doesn't have a lot of collection but it has books that I want to read. I love their quiet room, where I can just relax and read periodicals. I love to spend my time here to nourish my geeky side! :) read more

I am a self confessed bookworm, and have been coming here since I was little. 90% of the books I want to read, A.A. Co. Library has. If the book is in another county, one of the friendly staff will order it for you. I love the fact that they have a quiet room. Their computers (lots of them in my opinion), are fast. I am looking forward to the new building. read more

I love this library. The location is perfect, the staff is so helpful and welcoming. Anytime I am looking for a specific book they never point, or give vague directions they stop what they are working on and walk me right to the book. If ever there is a time when they don't have what I am looking for they order/buy it so that I and other patrons can have access to it. I have never encountered such help in any other library, ever. For someone who becomes slightly intimidated by libraries (since I was a child) I can honestly say this is the first time in my life that I am excited about going to the library. It's small, easy to navigate, and full of friendly staff willing to help. Their hours are great too. They are not open until midnight like Yelp has listed but they are open until 9 pm most nights (not saturday.) I would be so disappointed if they ever closed, or changed this branch. Lastly, the library is old (and still awesome.) Yes, its a bit musty..but it does NOT smell like sewage like a previous reviewer stated. I visit this library twice a week and it smells like books. The only thing that has ever bummed me out about this library is the pre-school time in the morning. It's a wonderful concept but the 4-5 times I have been it was so crowded and loud my children could hardly hear the story even though it was clear the story teller was projecting her voice as loudly as she could. Perhaps there should be a max # of children allowed or at least talk to the kids about keeping it under control. read more

This library is terrible. Yes, they have a great selection of books and other materials, but the staff is beyond rude. I was there to use the copier for a reference book, and I couldn't figure how the payment system worked (it's on a separate computer from the machine). I asked two women at the desk for help or at least tell me what I was doing wrong, they both just stared at me until one got up to help me. She told me what to do, talking to me as if I was some sort of idiot and walked away. I ended up needing to make more copies and had enough change for the two more items I needed, so I pushed the button on the computer screen that had the money symbol, instead of credit card. The same woman came running over to me asking what I was doing, claiming that that button is only if you have money on yur library card. At this point I'm already annoyed with the service I was getting, so I turned to her and asked why there was a picture of a dollar and change there then. She continued to just stare at me and said that for cash you just insert it without pushing any buttons. Mind you these instructions are NO WHERE. Not on the screen, not on the wall- nothing. So excuse me for being clueless as what to do. Making a copy shouldn't be that hard, and the staff certainly shouldn't talk down to you for needing help. That's why they're there in the first place, right? If you ever visit this library and need help stay away from the woman with short brown hair and glasses. She'll treat you like you're a toddler. read more
