So I was panicked to find another of such excellent within the MacNeal system. I thought I would have go to a different hospital altogether especially after Loyola and MacNeal merged. However, in my searched, I stumbled upon Miracle in Dr Porto's office. From the moment Miracle answered my call, I knew this was the right place without a doubt. She took the time to answer all my questions professionally and accurately. Then she worked diligently with me to find me an appointment because Dr Porto was extremely booked up. Miracle's caring, kind, upbeat, charismatic personality was infectious. She represents that office with such efficiency and humility. That first impression confirmed that this would be my new OB/GYN doctor. Consequently, I had every reason to believe that Miracle was an extension of Dr Porto...and I was right. On June 7th, I had my first appt with Dr Porto and she was amazing!!! I felt as though she were always my doctor. She took the time to get to know me and my medical history, answered my every question and concern, explained everything she did during my exam and why, gave me sound health advice and information to make my life easier. Excellent bedside manner!! I met Dr Porto and Miracle for the first time that day...even got a bonus and met Angeles at the front desk. I left that office feeling like I met long lost family. Dr Porto even called me personally to give me my test results! I am soooo please with this fantastic find. I just had to write this review. MacNeal is a great hospital. I would have gone elsewhere if it weren't for Miracle reeling me in with her customer care. These 3 ladies have heart. Thank you for having them on your team. Loyola inherited 3 great assets from MacNeal. Please acknowledge these ladies' importance to Loyola. I don't want them to leave anytime soon. I will definitely follow them if they do.

I was supposed to receive a Kyleena, but was instead given a Mirena, which is typically recommended for women who have previously given birth. The insertion and post-procedure period were extremely painful, resulting in several days of debilitating pain and months of chronic discomfort afterward. Following placement, I developed a bacterial infection and was told it was likely due to my partner cheating, rather than being informed of the known risks associated with IUDs. Over the next several years, I experienced recurrent yeast infections and ongoing symptoms. When I contacted the office for help, I was repeatedly told I could not be seen for 7-10 days and that I should not treat the symptoms myself, an unrealistic expectation given the severity and frequency of the infections. I eventually expressed my desire to have the IUD removed after researching and strongly suspecting it was the root cause of my symptoms. I was told this was "not a good enough reason" to discontinue birth control or remove the device, and I felt dismissed and pressured to keep it despite ongoing harm. I kept the IUD for another year before finally having it removed against medical advice. Since removal, I have been symptom-free for the first time since the device was placed. This clinic failed to listen to me, failed to provide informed, patient-centered care, and failed to respect my autonomy. I strongly urge patients, especially young women, to advocate for themselves and seek second opinions if something feels wrong.

After trying to explain each month I can hardly walk or even stand up she told me cardio would help. This appointment made me feel so hopeless, I've never cried in a doctors office until yesterdays appointment. She told me she "didn't want me to feel like she was just throwing a pill at me" but that's exactly what happened. I wasn't able to explain myself, and I think it really comes down to me being young. I'm only 20, but I know my body, I've been going through my cycles for nearly 9 years, and I didn't feel heard. I tried to make it clear that my menstrual cycle is nearly tearing my life apart and I don't even know if I can make it through another month, but she told me to come back in 4 months to see if anything changed. I tried being as open minded as possible, and I understand that she is busy, but this just added to my negative experiences of women's health care. This doctor would be great for someone looking for reassurance that they're healthy, but if you feel that something is wrong, based off my experience, I would NOT recommend this doctor. I came to Dr. Butler with concerns about chronic pain in my vulva. Over the course of the ten minutes she spent we me she proceeded to blame my recent weight gain, tell me I was "being dramatic", and condescend to me for using the wrong medical terms about a condition I did not know about until that visit. On top of her overall horrible bedside manner, she was unnecessarily rough while examining me causing me to cry out in pain. When I did so she asked me why I was acting like I was in pain despite the fact that I was there because of pain in my vulva. After having complications with a medication she prescribed me I returned to the office to find out what was wrong. After waiting with my clothes off for a full half hour she chided me for returning over something "so minor" and then preceded to act as though I was making up that she prescribed me the medication that cost me $120 with insurance. When she finally found the note that she had in fact prescribed this medication she completely dismissed my concerns. I have now left her office crying twice because of her rough treatment and I advise anyone looking for a gyno in the city to steer clear.

I saw Rehana today to figure out what's going on. I was diagnosed with post concussion syndrome and need to reschedule my trip. Due to SI joint disfunction, I've had trouble walking and getting around. I'm not sleeping well, too. She ordered a CT scan and we're going to figure out a PT program to deal with the SI joint issue. I love coming here because I always receive top notch, quality care. Rehana and other care team members are always attentive and accommodating. I can't thank them enough.

I want to start by saying the doctors themselves (I only saw Dr Beth) and the ultrasounds techs and phlebotomists (seriously LOVEDDD them!!) are absolutely incredible really. i have no issues with the back of house staff whatsoever it's the front of the house that's the issue. The first experience I had was in August of 2024 when I believed I was having a miscarriage, I was a new patient and they got me in for blood work to confirm. This was my second pregnancy and would've been my very first miscarriage. I called a few hours later for results and the woman on the phone was so inconsiderate and lacked so much empathy during this, she said "What exactly are you looking for?" after asking for my results and I said I had bloodwork done and was looking to see if I was having a miscarriage. She said "Um well yeah you're not pregnant anymore." I said "I had a miscarriage?" she said "You're not pregnant anymore." I was absolutely heartbroken and even though I knew this outcome could happen it still would've been nice to have had some empathy during that from someone. I ended up getting pregnant again in May of 2025 and decided to give them another shot- and now after 2 months of going there I'm going to another practice for the remainder of my pregnancy. Their payment plans are very unorthodox to where they look at your insurance and estimate your total cost through delivery and ask you to pay monthly and pay up by 32 weeks i'm assuming so they can kick you out of the practice if you haven't paid...my estimate was $764 a month. I had asked many questions about this and said "Will anything be submitted to insurance or will I have to do that myself?" "What if i lose the baby halfway through the pregnancy and at that point have already paid for half the L&D that won't happen?" and the lady responded "We just want to ensure we get paid." The billing department also called me constantly to talk to me condescendingly and in my opinion almost gave a vibe that I "can't afford this practice" it was almost like they were telling me I was too poor to stay..she asked me if I could apply to Medicaid? Not knowing my situation whatsoever. Another thing is their scheduling department. It's almost as if no one there actually knows what work the office does..everytime I call it's almost as if they're wanting to say "Why are you calling an OB office for OB appointments??" couldn't be bothered, and when they don't understand the appointment type you need, they schedule you for an ultrasound even if you don't need one. I personally think they were trying to raise my bill because they knew I was leaving. At 13 weeks pregnant, I have had 4 ultrasounds...while having a completely normal pregnancy and they cost ~$150 each. As I said, the back of house is lovely, so kind, and listens to your concerns. The way the actual business is run is disorganized, they lack empathy, and only care about money.

Yep, this was the practice my mom went to (back when it was Drs Lorenzini and Moran) and they delivered me. I've been seeing Dr. Simmons since I was 17 and I couldn't be happier. She's been practicing gynecology for over 20 years and she's a really great doctor. She is knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Her care really is exceptional and I can't see myself going to another doctor. I know that when I'm ready to have children (far in the future), she'll be the OBGYN that I turn to because I know I can trust her. This practice is really popular, so be sure you book appointments well in advance. They have tons of on-call hours (for any type of urgent need) and they are open late during the week (some days until 7:00 p.m.). I can't imagine going anywhere else and I hope some other women out there can experience all of the positives I've had at this office.

She actually got angry the first time I told her what I had been through with my history of menstrual issues and how each previous doc just prescribed birth control which caused further issues. Dr. Senica delivered our first daughter and Dr. Mace delivered our 2nd daughter. My only complaint is that if you are looking to try a natural birth or even a birth plan of your own, it almost seemed like one doctor in particular (Dr. Bruneau) seemed annoyed with the idea of it. She is a great doctor and very experienced, I'm sure, but she literally rolled her eyes and laughed when I brought up that I had done some research after my 1st child and wanted to try a natural birth with my second. Obviously I read the risks and understood that complications could arise and that plan might have to change. She told me that most women that come in with a birth plan usually don't stick to them, which kind of offended me. She then also explained that they had a lot of due dates around the time I was due and I might want to schedule being induced so the doctors could plan around it. That was the exact opposite of what I wanted the second time around. I am now expecting my 3rd and although I really liked the other doctors here and they did a lot to help me feel comfortable and important, I would like to try another natural birth again but am considering a midwife service instead. It's a shame that they don't have a midwife service through their office because their staff is amazing and I really liked most other doctors there.
