There is a small art studio in the back, some lovely, tasty treats near the register (small batch, local source!) and friendly, helpful staff who are right there where you want them to be but not up in your business. They GET Lowell (all the local flavor is there if you want it) but you won't feel like you've visited just another place in Lowell--this shop makes me want to go back again and again.

After moving here recently, I was very excited to find a used bookstore within my area. I drove almost half an hour to get to Annie's Book Stop, with my baby in tow. As I walked in, I was greeted with a "Kids books are in the back". Not even a hello. I said thank you and proceeded through the store. My baby then informed me that she needed to use the bathroom. As a potty training child prone to accidents, that's a general emergency for me. I asked the woman at the counter if there was a restroom my baby could use, I was answered with "Not a public one. You'll have to go to Wendy's". After a moment, realizing my child couldn't hold it, we left. As someone who works in a locally owned business, I know the importance of customer service. I can't say I'll ever return to this shop, which is probably a bigger disappointment for me than it will be for them.

But the men's bathroom? Absolutely unacceptable. The toilet was filthy, and there was actual feces under the seat. That's not a small oversight -- that's a serious sanitation failure. For a place that otherwise feels clean and welcoming, this was a jarring and honestly disgusting experience. I'd still come back because the bookstore and café are worth it, but management needs to take bathroom cleanliness seriously. A quick check every so often would go a long way toward keeping this location up to the standard the rest of the store clearly meets.

As far as vintage audio is concerned, there couldn't be more passion and genuine love for the formats of yesteryear. I purchased a Pioneer sx-6000 and matching csg350s from them a while back and still plays my 1000+ records with such magnificent unadulterated beauty I would be hard pressed to replace it. Rusty has unequivocally captured and resurged a moment in time that will prove immortal. Handsome lad to boot!

I didn't see any Harley Quinn figurines while I was shopping. Comics were priced as is per the cover price. There were some DC dollar comics but they ere reissues of older comic titles. Good to see that the store is opened 6 days a week even with the COVID-19 situation.
