I was super pleasantly surprised by this place…read more It looks a bit eclectic and cobbled together, but in a "what they like" rather than a "what they dragged from a shop to fill a place" so it feels quite homely- the lighting is quite dim downstairs, and there is much more space down there. Now, don't be thrown off by the laminated menu like I nearly was, the food was great, and super cheap for a big afternoon tea. On our table was coffee, earl grey tea, brie and apple sandwiches, coronation chicken sandwiches, fruit scone, turkish delight scone (surprisingly epic, I just had to try it), carrot cake, chocolate fudge cake, for some reason- grapes, a bit of salad, crisps in a tea cup and a couple of little sweets. The staff were lovely, and it really is such good value.

My wife 3kids and myself like the local cafe that is warm friendly and serves good food. The Curiosity shop did not disappoint and is beautifully decorated. If you like the family friendly cafes then this one is perfect. If you like a lovely clean original place this is for you. Lovely decor, lovely hosts, lovely food!!! Will even make a day trip from derby to go back there for lunch!!

There are only 6…read moretables and if all of them are taken, they close down the place with a sign at the door - so from time to time people have to queue to get inside - peculiar but effective. We came here for an early Afternoon Tea and were not disappointed. A big pot of tea, home made fruit scones and cake combined with cream and jam. All of them tasted fresh and delicious. For us it was a really a great place to warm up after visiting the castle in a light drizzle. Service was very friendly and helpful and you felt right at home from the very first minute. The whole decoration has Victorian charme with lots of lovely tea pots and whole tea sets on display. The tea shop is in a very old and small building and so the owners had to find a way to install some bathroom facilities for the guests - the solution is quite ingenious, but for some people a little bit discomforting as you have to cross the tiny open courtyard to reach the "outhouse". In the wind and the rain it is a little challenge but it should be managable - the bathroom itself is modern and very clean - so no complaints at all. We really liked the place and can highly recommend it for a lovely tea stop on Anglesey.

Cooked meals took quite a while to arrive, which was suprising considering the amount of tables they had to look after. Food was inbetween 'greasy spoon' and 'pub grub' quality. Hot drinks were nice but cold drinks tasted cheap. Only worth visiting if you're after a drink and a small bite to eat, such as one of their home made cakes.

Well lets start with the basics…read more 1. Its a Costa Coffee , so as you expect its your typical Costa 2. It is in a student city, It will be busy 3. High staff turnover as its in a student area, so expect teh odd trainee Now looking past all these its your high st costa coffee. Personally with every coffee shop I think we should all have that one drink we go to as a staple beverage. My personal one is a flavoured latte - this was you can test coffee, milk and flavours in one hit!! I tend to go for a Toffee based flavour. I find costas vanilla syrup far too sweet!. Now costa has its new coffee variety out as well ( Paradise st me thinks ). So now we have a Caramel ( new coffee ) latte , Im sat with friends at the table at the back ( far more comfy seats at the back ), But there is a flickering light above me. I asked the manager to the reply of its been noted. Anyway Coffee finished and we were made to feel as if we were being rushed away. About 5.5/10 for me Costa can do better for its customer service, The only saving grace is the manager with the anchor tattoo on her forearm. As her smile will make the dreary weather seem awesome!

You also know you're getting a genuinely decent drink that will taste the same as your closest branch of Costa which may be miles away and in a different country. That being said, there's something comforting about that. Also, the staff in this branch are high on my Christmas card list for recommending a shot of vanilla syrup in my chai latte to add a little sweetness. Oh. My. GOD. My mouth is a party and THE FLAVOUR was invited. Vanilla syrup in your chai latte, kids. It's the future. Trust me.
