Anthology is a fabulous downtown Madison bookstore and gift shop that is well stocked, beautifully curated, and staffed by genuinely lovely people. Such good vibe, glad we stopped in!

If I lived in or near Madison I'd probably be broke. :) I found Anthology on Facebook and quickly hopped over to their website. I realized they sell something called 'good things, small packages' and immediately wanted to order one. As a lover of grab bags growing up (and still!), this offering really spoke to me. What you get will be unexpected! When placing your order you get to include your likes/favorites. For example, a couple of the things I included were: midwest, 1984, purple, rocks/gemstones, anthropomorphic foods, coffee. I had a specific sticker request and they included it! Fast forward a few days and squeee! My 'good things/small package' just arrived and it brought a huge smile to my face. Stickers, decals, a purple Gelly Roll pen! My 11-yr old self reemerged. A very fun gift to myself. I plan to order again and purchase the next size up. The $25 price included shipping. Thank you, Anthology, for curating a package that was very customized. I'll be ordering again!

Whenever I used to come to Madison, I would always visit Anthology. Now I've lived here for 2 years, and I still love to come peruse the aisles. My toddler son is now a lover of the store as well. The people who work here are super helpful, and you'll find awesome gifts for others as well as cool items for yourself and your family. Check it out and grab some unique gifts!

This is the cutest little shop on State Street and it all started from 2 sisters! They had cute shirts and even onesies with clever prints on them. I love that they had protest and election pins and free tattoos for the March for our lives! I am so glad I purchased a "nevertheless she persisted" T-shirt from them to give them my support. They are doing great things!

A lot of eye catching little knickknacks that will just end up as unneeded junk in a few years.

This is hands down my favorite place in town. Such a unique little store, I could spend hours browsing.

They do an outstanding job and I enjoy they use different and unique flowers in their arrangements. Ordering is easy through their online form but take note-it is not automated and they will call once they receive. I like that is it allows me to describe exactly what I am looking for and provide more context that a simple click of a button for a generic arrangement. Their staff is super friendly and would encourage anyone to visit. I believe they are the best in Madison and have been using them for years.

The cookies were delicious! It was so thoughtful to have a tray available for us to snack on. Shannon and Jason were so helpful and informative, never leaving us in the dark or confused about the process. I was nervous going in, as it seemed overwhelming, but they made the day so seamless and fun! I couldn't believe how well my wreath turned out, and how beautiful everyone else's was as well! I absolutely plan to come back next year and bring my mom and sister-in law with me - what a super cool activity for the holiday season! I definitely will check out their other workshops throughout the year.

Felly's Flowers is an institution in the Madison area, serving the community for decades. That…read moresaid, my recent experience was "utter failure". I called before noon for next morning delivery. On hold so long, finally called back. I had picked out a couple of examples from the website, the person answering was not familiar with their examples on the web. While she was searching, she suggested an arrangement she'd made "the week before" ... I declined the offer, as I preferred "fresh" flowers. She eventually came up with something "similar" to the examples on Felly's web site. Said she could not get them delivered timely the next morning, so we agreed on "this afternoon before five". The location would hold them for me until morning. She never gave me the final amount, I'm estimating $175. The ordering process took over a half hour!! When we arrived at the event the next morning, there were no flowers. I called Felly's and the person said they'd be delivered "this afternoon" .... Which would be after the event! She acknowledged an error had been made and "apologized". I asked if she could get them delivered yet in the morning, but despite their error that was a definite "no". Afternoon, after the event, take it or leave it. I canceled the order. I got a call back and the person acknowledged there had been an error and "apologized". Asked if I still wanted the order...I stuck to the cancellation as the event would be past. The employees didn't seem to understand how the timing could be important. I had originally called a Felly's location near the delivery point. I now believe deliveries are prepared at a central location, so it may be prudent to call their main number. They may have more knowledgeable people, less prone to error and a better chance of getting delivery when agreed upon. Or, you may try a more "hands on" florist for your orders with better product knowledge and care.
