I wish i checked the reviews before i came here. This is the worst office i ever been to. The receptionists are not winning any personality contests. Cant really blame them too much because they are a reflection of Dr. Rizzo, when you hire ex 7-11 clerks what do you expect. Three weeks to get blood work results not kidding. Awful facility. DO NOT COME TO THIS OFFICE. ST JAMES OR BAYSHORE. They go through employees left and right. Why can't they keep staff? Very sketchy. The way they treat you is disgusting. There are a few nice girls but the ones in charge are nasty. I'm scared to know what goes on when patients aren't there. Dr. Rizzo only cares about money. Dr. Smith is a good guy. The front desk receptionist at the St. James office, Danielle, is extremely rude. While I was asking how I can get my name on my elderly parents file to help them, she was snickering and speaking condescendingly towards me (saying I wasn't on it without asking my name, she assumed). I had asked to speak with someone else or even an office manager. She insisted no one else was there. While I was explaining again what I wanted to do she hung up on me. She had told me in person she hung up because we weren't getting anywhere. My main concern is if someone calls her and can't hear well or isn't communicating the best due to age or disability her solution would be to hang up on them. That is immature and surely not how an office should be ran. When I went in person she was still rude, rolling her eyes as I was speaking. I would NEVER be a patient there all because of her deplorable attitude. I feel for the elderly who are patients there for I hope she doesn't hang up on you and be rude to you. read more

I have read all of the negative reviews. People tend to over exaggerate, but I will not. Patient's do not see what goes on with the staff. How overworked, and overstressed they are. They work 11 to 12 hours per day and there are a few that work longer than that. No breaks are allowed. There is no compensation to the staff. The current "Office Manager" has no managerial skills whatsoever. They push and push their staff to work harder and harder. Management cracks a whip. There are cameras set up all over the office, in the lab so the doctor and the office manager can observe the staff at all times . Office manager and doctor have cameras set up in their homes in order to observe the staff if they are not present in the office at any given time. Staff is given a specific amount of time to process patients. No thought is given to the need of each individual patient. Each patient is different and requires a certain type of care from the MA's. The staff is hurried even by the Receptionists, they too crack the whip. Staff members are cursed at by the office manager, there is preferential treatment to certain personnel. Same Day patients are now welcome. So, what begins as 74-patient day becomes a 97-patient day. Office manager changes the employee schedule at will, without first consulting with the employee. Not a good place to work. No transparency in interviews. Once hired, all that was said at initial interview quickly changes. A very unhealthy atmosphere to work in, both mentally and physically. Literally the worst doctor ever. He is extremely dismissive!! I was just diagnosed with celiacs with my GI doctor, but I needed to go to him for a medical clearance and he was telling me my symptoms were normal and food does that naturally. Made me feel like I was making it up, meanwhile I was feeling this way because my body was fully rejecting the gluten I was eating because I was unaware of my condition. Do not even get me started on the front desk ladies. My insurance card fully says I do not owe a copay and they would try to get me to pay. Every single time I paid and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. they refunded me afterwards because I didn't need it. They are all so rude and unfriendly. They have such an attitude the second they pick up the phone. I understand having a bad day if it was once or twice I wouldn't have mentioned it here, but they are all so rude everytime I call, from the hello to the goodbye. read more

Dr. Anthony Rizzo is a very thorough professional. He has been our family doctor for years. His staff is great. I had a unusual injury and he stayed late to see me and be sure I was treated for my injury. We have mentioned Dr. RIZZOs name to friends and they see and love him as well. Dr. Rizzo takes care of his own body as well. Some doctors are overweight and out of shape. How can they tell you to take of yourself when they can not take care of themselves ??? read more

If I could give negative 0 stars I would .... worst staff ever.... easily a 2 hour + wait rude staff and office manager I want to say her name is Donna is the rudest nastiest woman ever!!! They said I had bad test results but lied to get a copay.... lost my and my husbands business and she said she didn't even care... and hippa laws don't apply in this office... office manager insulted me and had comments about my test results and about confidential things I spoke about during my visit.... run if this is your doctor and stay away if you are looking for a doctor read more

If you are thinking of finding a new doctor in the Saint James area BEWARE of Dr anthony Rizzo on lake avenue. ***DO NOT trust yourself or your loved ones with this office***He has been my primary care doctor since he took over the building. I don't go very often. He has gone through many workers since then. It always seems very unorganized and disheveled when I go there. There is one current employee by the name Tina. She is a BEAST of a woman. Do not allow her to bring you in a exam room alone!!! She is verbally abusive, as she cannot communicate with someone without cursing them, disrespectful and as unprofessional as they come. She's one of those old people who should have retired 10 years ago but just can't let go. She is not a Dr or nurse and does not hold a medical license of any kind yet she will try to have you believe she does. She told me she "runs" the office and zero prescriptions get sent out without her authorization. I asked Rizzo for her name so I could lodge a complaint. Nice enough guy but you have to wait at least an hour in his waiting room before you get to see him. Then after they take you into the exam room you have to wait about another half hour. His staff is not very helpful and truly give the impression that you are just a number. The doc is pretty good once you finally see him. read more

NEVER GO TO ST. JAMES OFFICE. YOU WILL WAIT 1+ hour and have an overweight nurse/clerk act unprofessional. I went today and there is an overweight woman with short hair who does referrals and stuff she was working the front desk. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL she INSULTED ME AND MY MOTHER. She eavesdropped on a conversation I had about the 50 minute wait, and she basically cut into the conversation saying something along the lines of "if you don't like the wait you can just leave" in a VERY RUDE AND NASTY TONE. Seriously the tone she used sounded like she thought I had just insulted her weight to her face or something. Almost as if I was directly attacking her. That tone alone, is what is making me write this review. She shouldn't have eavesdropped and if she happened to hear something than she should have just kept her mouth shut. After waiting so incredibly long, (saw another patient leave too) she ended up being the final straw that made us leave, and we got our Copay back. First time writing a review on this site and I just had to do it because this woman will not get away scot free. If I was in a position of power in that office and witnessed that level of unprofessionalism she would be fired instantly. She has been working there for a long time too, so perhaps she is too comfortable. IF I do see Dr Rizzo again (unlikely, he might have lost a client forever) I will tell him straight up what happened. God I wish I knew this womans full name so I can write it here.
