They asked if I was browsing for anything in particular, and I told them I was looking for a 21st birthday present for my sister, which isn't for another 6 months so I was simply gaging what they had. Lie. Complete lie. But I wanted to avoid the hard-sell. The assistant was lovely and left me to potter around in the store unattended. The jewellery in Lannah Dunn is stunning. Simple, elegant and stunning. It's a mixture of antique and new pieces with something for everyone. I am a huge fan of their monogram rings and was secretly (and selfishly) shopping for one for myself. They are super reasonable in price starting at $89 for a small silver ring, and upgrades in price according to the size of the face and whether you go for silver, gold or white gold. These would make for an affordable and memorable gift for any young woman. Whether you're shopping for an engagement ring, a present or something special to spoil yourself, Lannah Dunn have a gorgeous range worthy of a swoon. The staff are lovely, and not at all as forward as some other unmentionable jewellery stores. I needn't have told that little lie after all!

My partner and I were both after something a bit unususal and after discussing our concepts with Phil and Kim they felt confident they would be able to create what we had in mind. Today we went to pick up our wedding bands. I can't even explain how happy we are. The rings are so much better than we both envisaged. Phil and Kim took our concepts and produced two amazing rings, we don't know how we can wait a month to our wedding day to start wearing them. I cannot recommend Kimminson's highly enough!

After my husband lost his wedding ring, he decided to get a new one I should point out that my husband loves his precious gemstones and also is not afraid to say that he likes his bling and has very specific tastes in jewellery. We checked his usual places but found nothing that really appealed to him. We had never been into an Anthony's store and decided to give it a go. We were immediately greeted by the Store Manager Peta-Ann who asked us if we were just browsing or after something in particular. We told her what happened and what we were after. She asked us several questions on stones, colour, weight, type, price etc and she presented some rings to him. He was amazed because after asking just a few questions, she knew just what sort of tastes he has and was able to choose a stunning ring to replace his lost one. We were also very pleasantly surprised that a lot of the jewellery was very well priced. So we purchased that ring then and there! We came back a few weeks after my husband found his original wedding ring and asked if it could be resized. Due to the type it was, they advised us that it would not be a good idea to resize because of the damage that could be done to it so we decided not to do anything with it and keep it on a chain but while we were there, we found another ring that was very unique and my husband just had to have it so we ended up buying it. I first met Craig when having my engagement ring resized, I was a little apprehensive because my…read morering is a pearl and quite delicate, but Craig did a great job and my ring now fits perfectly. We were so happy with the quality of work and Craig's friendly attitude we went back to have my fiance's wedding band made. I showed Craig a picture of one we liked, and wrote an inscription for it on a scrap of paper. He took measurements for my fiancé, giving advice on what would be the most comfortable, we agreed to a reasonable price and left it with him. I just went to pick the completed band up today and wow! The band itself is beautiful, well crafted and timeless. But what made me so happy was Craig had used the scrap of paper with the inscription I had written and had it copied to the inside of the ring. Such a special touch to have my handwriting engraved in the ring, I hadn't even thought of it but as soon as I saw it I knew it was perfect. He even saved the scrap of paper to put in the ring box and keep. Beyond that, there are always absolutely gorgeous pieces in the shop. 10/10 would recommend

Rock collecting is something I've done since I was a pup. I used to collect rocks that looked like…read morehearts, miniature grave stones, or just ones with cool patterns in them. The Rock Shop on Adelaide Street is home to many semi precious stones. Some are for sale, but most of them are actually just on display. It's more like a small museum than a shop. Any person with a minor interest in geology would like to go in here. They've got your unpolished and polished versions of most stones. The malachite and lapis lazuli are particularly enchanting. There's a stone called 'Ribbon Rock' which while not sounding very scientific does represent the rock well. There's rocks that have patterns that make one think of outer space and star dust. Then there's the psychedelic ones. Trippy, star burst kind of stones of all sorts of colours. The staff in store know their stones. They can explain to you why a particular rock will have red in the centre and then change into yellow, and then to green. They'll blind you with their science. They spend most of their time selling rock ornaments and jewellery to people, but they are more than happy to talk rocks with anyone who is interested. If you're like me, you'll just go in to ogle the pretty colours and patterns in the rocks.

When I was but a wee thing I made my mother buy the (now…read moredefunct) fossicker weekly. Each week a new semi-precious gem would be added and before I knew it I was hooked on those mineraloids. Fill of gems and jewels this store would make any fellow rockhead whoop for joy. From garnets and amethysts to tigers eyes, crystals and pearls. The rock shop has you covered. This place also boasts some of the best range of Opals I've seen (Be sure to check out the QLD boulder opal displays) as well as offering up some beautiful jewellery to display them in. So the next time you have an itch for some unpolished gems (or some apology pearls) I highly recommend you pay these guys a visit.

It's strange how much impact such a small thing can have on the appearance of a store, because the rest of the shop design is lovely, as is everything else. Friendly staff greeted me the second I walked through the door as a variety of jewellery sparkled up at me from within glass cabinets. My purpose for entering was to take a look at the Pandora range. I have one of their charm bracelets and always pause at shop displays to take a look at the latest bead designs, deciding which I would like to add to my collection next. Pandora became famous because of their innovative charm bracelets, but they have a lot of other items too. This store had a whole cabinet of Pandora rings. It is certainly a nice jewellery store, with a wide range of items and many helpful sales assistants eagerly attending to customers.

Being a bit of a rockhead, I've had a couple of rings designed around stones that we've bought at the gem shows and overseas. One in particular is a work of art. That's fairly high end stuff, but I've also bought reasonably priced jewellery and watches here as gifts and had my own repaired more than once. It's a great, friendly family run business.
