I had a really great experience here! I'd never ventured into an Anthropologie before, but I was shopping with my Aunt and figured, what the heck. I love the vibe of the store, and found the mix of household items, clothes, and accessories to be pretty cool. I loved the eclectic nature of everything. I had been looking all day to find an outfit for my engagement photos and was pretty much spent at that point, but with the help of a great sales associate I found a beautiful dress that I felt amazing in, and a great belt to go with it after some trial and error. After a day of things not fitting and frustration she made it easy to feel great about myself and my shopping experience was excellent! I was definitely intrigued to see a "bridal registry" binder behind the till! I bought some cute gifts while I was there as well. I will definitely be a repeat customer! read more

I am writing to share my deep frustration regarding the recent experience I've had with their review-based rewards program. I am a frequent shopper who values your brand, but the current implementation of their coupon policy is incredibly disappointing and feels intentionally misleading. Between April 2nd and April 13th, I submitted five product reviews. Based on my understanding of the program, I was anticipating receiving my 25% discount code on July 1st. To my dismay, I discovered that the coupon is tied specifically to the last date a review was submitted. Consequently, I am now forced to wait until July 13th to receive the discount, rather than the beginning of the month. This policy is incredibly frustrating for a few reasons: Lack of Transparency: Nowhere on their website was it clearly stated that the issuance of the reward is pegged to the specific calendar date of the final review submission. I feel blindsided by a rule that isn't communicated upfront. Inventory Risk: Because I am now stuck waiting until the 13th, the items I intended to purchase with this discount are at a high risk of selling out or having my size become unavailable. It defeats the purpose of being a loyal customer who takes the time to provide feedback if I cannot actually use the incentive provided. The Logic of the Policy: The current structure simply doesn't make sense. If a customer submits a review on the 30th of a month, they receive the coupon on the 30th--practically at the end of the window. Furthermore, if I purchase an item on the 29th, I am effectively forced to wait until the 30th to review it anyway. It would be far more customer-friendly and logical to have these rewards issued on the 1st of the month, regardless of the specific submission date, so that customers can actually plan their shopping accordingly. I truly enjoy Anthro products, but this experience has left me feeling undervalued as a customer. I hope Anthro will reconsider how this policy is messaged to shoppers or, better yet, update the system to be more functional and transparent. read more

I ordered online from EMI at the Calgary branch of Anthropologie. She was so great. Efficient, personable, patient, kind, knew her business perfectly. I will always call and order through her now. First she wrote everything down then checked each item diligently. Then she called me once everything was ready. It was smooth and very easy for me. I appreciate such a great salesperson. Stopped in here this afternoon. I don't get a chance to go to the mall without children often so I was able to do some browsing. Found a few pairs of pants and sweaters I was interested in trying on. But after walking around for over 10 minutes and past five separate employees, not one offered to assist me or even say hello. So instead of spending about $800 I chose to walk out of the store. Not sure why the retail associates are so rude and unhelpful. They have one job to do and none of them were doing it. I'd rather support a store with friendlier employees. read more

After much anticipation, Anthropologie has finally made it to Calgary. Residing in the new wing of Chinook Center, this store is awesome. It seems much larger and better laid out than the store in West Edmonton Mall. All the staff were very friendly and they had tons of stock. Even though it was the first day the clearance section was full too....with an extra 25% discount! The only negative was the ENORMOUS line for the till. I think many people were in line for gift cards so though the line was long the rest of the store wasn't that crowded. Even the fitting rooms were pretty much empty. As we were waiting to pay they brought around candy and bottled water for those waiting which was a very nice touch. I will definitely be back to look more after the holidays. read more

Back in 2010, I was sooo excited for Anthropologie to come to town. I was enchanted by Anthropologie's clothes and fragrance lines when I visited the incomparable San Francisco location in Union Square. Little did I know, I would be playing this game on Regretsy a few months later: http://www.regretsy.com/2011/01/31/etsy-or-anthropologie/ It is kind of irritating when something is factory made to look vintage or handmade. I find the prices are very hit or miss for this kind of stuff at Anthro, and if I am after an item that looks like I could find a DIY on pinterest, or the same thing on Etsy, I will usually just go for that route instead of purchasing from this store. I do like picking up perfumes and little accessories there, though. They carry some lines of perfume which have confirmed with me are cruelty free. I also almost always find a cute piece of clothing in the sales rack in the back, even amongst all the weird abstract uglies and the usually swarm of other savvy ladies who scour the sales wrack-because no one wants to pay 300 for a boxy striped sweater. Wow was there ever so much hype for this store!! For people who love the Anthro line, I'm betting they're all giving out 5 stars. The store itself had nothing wrong with it. It was clean, well laid out, easy to find, huge, lots of selection, etc etc... definitely worth 5 stars for an anthro-lover. My rating here is for the over all Anthro line. I'm just not sold on the quality and style. They have some cute things, but I always leave feeling like things are just a tad over priced. Ok... maybe a bit more than a tad. My favourite part of the store is the sale room back in the corner. My last trip there, it was quite bare, which was a disappointment. And the end of the day, I will be back again and do recommend that you check the store out for yourself! They carry it all: clothes & household items! read more

This review is for their online website. Our last order though the site was absolutely terrible. Starting off with instead of sending us the pants we ordered, they sent us some random dress. When we called them up, they proceed to tell us that they have 7 in stock, but that they from the actual stores or something, and that the stores don't ship out to international addresses. They said that we can try and re-order, but that it might it again might get cancelled again. What a complete joke. Really lousy customer service, for their own screw up. Ah, Anthropologie. I had discovered this store while traveling in the States many years ago, and I fell in love with it. The home decor and kitchen stock carried some funky hooks, door knobs, plates, salt and pepper shakers, teapots, etc. It also had a great selection of hip, fashion forward clothing that was unique from anything I had seen in other stores. This Anthropologie location is very hit and miss for me. Sometimes, I've found great stuff or awesome deals in the sale section. More often than not, I've walked out with nothing. They definitely do not have as much inventory as other Anthropologie stores I have been to. Occasionally I have encountered really friendly sales associates there. But usually they all tend to look like they don't want to be there. The sales section also has times where there is barely anything, and the clothes look like they've seen better days. I once saw a shirt that had a shoe print on it, which was kind of funny, but it shouldn't have been on the sales floor. Overall, the store is nice. But it is missing the charm of other Anthropologie stores I've been to. I still like to come here and check out the neat stock they carry of course. read more

STAY AWAY-- here in a nutshell is my experience. Bought two pairs of shoes on line. Called their 1-800 number before purchasing. They said the shoes could be returned at no charge to me. I paid 425 CAD -the shoes were approx. 325 USD. When I got the shoes back I had to pay an additiona 29 CAD for duty although I already paid hefty taxes. The shoes did not fit. When I called Anthropologie about the return process that I was previously told was seamless and no cost to me, they said I was responsible for the shipping-- add on another whopping 75 CAD. When Anthropologie refunded me the money, they charged me the FX hit and got back only 374 CAD--the big retailer passed on the FX loss to me.. I am out over 155 CAD-- lesson learned.. read more

This store is in Chinook Centre and has quite a bit of space, yet they don't seem to fit in enough clothing selection. The store is nice, smells nice with their candles they burn, and is well organized however for what they do have. The selection in the Chinook store ok, but they often don't have the nicest pieces they advertise online which results in expensive shipping. Anthropologie uses DHL as a shipper which is an extremely expensive as they add in very expensive brokerage fees for handling. If Anthropologie used a different shipper and had a better selection in their store, id give them a higher rating. This company could do much better, but is slow to improve. Their anthro cards get you barely anything, and it seems like an data mining tool. Id opt out of an anthro card. read more

The price point of Anthropologie always makes me feel like I'm about to take the contents of my shopping bag for a snowy-nose snuff when I get home. And I guess that's exactly the feeling I get every time I take out an Anthropologie outfit from my wardrobe - I'm running high on life with Anthropologie on my lion mane. Anywhos, my latest dilemma was that I had my eye on an ultra wooly sweater and spoke to Kasia (spl?) over the phone to see if I could run over to Chinook to grab one (or as a result end up coming home having committed a shopping crime). They did not carry it at this location. Fear not however, quicker than I could snap my fingers she successfully connected me with Laurie at West Ed to order the product. Both girls were super helpful. I just wonder where Anthropologie get girls like these who go all out to make a sale happen, but Anthropologie will certainly making a run for other designer stores, these girls are selling like they've been dealt a share of the fashion mafia that is Anthropologie. read more

It's likely one of the most fashionable and stylish stores in this city but it's one level. They carry hardly any of the stock you'd see in other stores (Vancouver, San Francisco, NYC), no j brand jeans no nightgowns, the sale section looked rummaged through like a herd of Walmart tramplers had been grazing). It needs to expand!! Get more stock, expand,Calgary shoppers want a good store! This doesn't do Anthro justice. After fighting chinook traffic for a half hour to get a parking spot (middle of the day), I was pretty disappointed at the waste of time. read more
