Appalling customer and returns service. Don't take the risk online, go to the shop! Good products but APALLING customer service and returns management. Was sent a faulty item which I returned, and they received back within 2 days. Impossible to get an update on progress, no matter who and how you contact them, here is the standard answer: "Hi Once your return has been received and processed by our returns team, your refund will be credited back to your original payment method. While we strive to process returns as quickly as possible, please note that it can sometimes take up to 28 days to complete. We'll send you an email to keep you updated once everything is finalized. For more information on our returns policy, please feel free to visit our website. Thank you.". "Apologies, I am afraid that we are unable to check the progress of the return. Please allow our Returns Team up to 28 days to process the refund. But don't worry, we'll keep you updated via email as soon as it's completed. You can also check the T&C's on the website as reference. Thank you" From a customer experience prospective I've been mis sold and been further impacted by being left £140 out of pocket. If I'm not mistaken, Anthropologie is the grown up version of Urban Outfitters and this particular branch just works while the one in Westfields just leaves me cold (it has the same feel as Oliver Bonas there, lovely products but no character). The King's Road shop is just the right size with beautiful fashion, colourful crockery and unusual smellies spread out over one large floor. They had a lovely exhibition of dog paintings in a small side room, supporting an animal charity. I almost always walk out empty handed as the shop invites to browse more than to actually buy. Having said that, I have bought quite a few gifts before, and the fashion becomes more affordable during the sales. But this is one of the few shops where you feel happy just browsing without the urge to spend money. A bit like a trip to Liberty, a place just oozing good taste. read more

I should preface this by saying that I can't afford to buy anything at Anthropologie. But if I COULD afford to buy anything at Anthropologie, I would do it at the Anthropologie in Chelsea. I've been to many Anthropologies in the States. And I've been to the Anthropologie on Regent Street. I have two words to say about them: 'Ho' and 'Hum'. Yeah, they're nice. Yeah, they're filled with things I love and want to buy in multiples of 50. But they're just Anthropologies, you know? But the Anthropologie on King's Rd in Chelsea? Stupendous. Open Light Airy Inviting Spacious There's a freaking water fall in there, people. If you love buying clothing and housewares that easily cost three times as much as you should pay for such things, then make your way to the Anthropologie with haste. If you love looking at clothing and housewares such as these but don't feel the need to buy everything you see, then you should pay Anthrologie in Chelsea a visit, too. A word to the bargain-minded. Don't be put off by the fact that the sales floor is seemingly bereft of clearance bargains. The sale area is hidden away in a completely separate, cavernous room at the back, and it's quite tricky to find. Because, Anthropologie? Put things on SALE? Never can such a thing be visible to the public! It would break the façade. read more

My home away from home! Anthro has been my favorite store in my hometown of Houston for quite some time. Any time someone asks me "where did you get that top?" it's gotten to the point where I just raise an eyebrow as if to say "do you really have to ask?" and each someone just nods and says "of course." Yes, the prices are obscene... even more so given that on the price tags they seem to have just lopped off the dollar sign and stuck a pound sign on (although, the same could be said for the whole of the UK), but I'm just HAPPY once I walk in. And the fact that a lot of the sales staff seem to be US imports helps with the homesickness as well! This is by far the most gorgeous Anthro I've been in. It's got a lovely, spacious (Spacious? In London? GET OUT!) layout and the sale room is enormous. It's lush and green and I could go on, but other reviewers have said it all. read more

Don't bother with the one on Oxford Street,come here for an amazing shopping experience. Seriously, if I could, I would live in this shop. Door knobs, patchwork throws, vintage inspired tea dresses; it's like they stole my dream and put a huge price tag on it. I first discovered this shop in the states, fell in love and was sat at the edge of my seat in anticipation when I heard that London was not just going to get one but too. Oh Anthro, you never cease to make me feel fat and poor. Overpriced pseudo-handmade for those who have graduated from Urban Outfitters, but still love a bit of hipster trendiness in an extremely limited size and price range. I like looking here. As someone who personally has a beef with so much the UO company stands for and the claims it makes about its customers, I don't really want to give them much money. But it *is* full of pretty things. The space itself is gorgeous - full of stained glass and skylights. But then, it's Anthropologie. WIth a bit of savvy, you can get those glass drawerpulls, generically "ethnic" skirts, and beaded curtains elsewhere for a good deal less. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with "Anthro". I mean the stuff is so overpriced and some of it is cheap quality, but oh how pretty it all is. Of course the sale rack is stupendous. But this particular Anthro is beyond fab! Same stuff, but in the most spectacular retail space in London. I just love looking at the roof, the windows, and all of the pretty little rooms. It is so spacious, never too crowded (I have elbow scars from the sale racks at other Anthro stores in the states) and so the stuff even looks prettier than pretty. I can just wander in there for hours high on the smell of their delicious scented candles. It puts all other retail experiences to shame. read more

This Anthro is lovely. Take a quick peek into my wardrobe, and you might find out what an addict I am. It pretty much looks like an "Anthro sale throughout the years" exhibit at a museum. Except poorly organized. I LOVE Anthropologie. Yes, it is expensive, but wait until the sales, they have great semi annual sales, plus this location has a nice, large back sale room that is open all the time, and not too picked over like some locations. Anthro hasn't hit the UK in the way it has the US.... just you wait (indicative by all the sales girls.... ALL from North America practically). Oh! They also have a separate SHOE SHOP, which I've never seen before. An Anthro shoe shop?!?! Does God WANT me to be broke?!? Apparently, since this is on the way to the church choir I sing in every Sunday.... read more

anthropologie, je t'aime. If I die tomorrow, send me there. For the newest Anthropologie store in London, you have truly "out-decored" yourself: the complexities include an indoor waterfall complete with trees and a garden, paper mache animal heads, wood floors and colored floor tiles, and a range of textile designs only a full time textile designer could have pulled off. The building itself is museum-worthy. I did some Internet research and it began as a Chelsea gentleman's club and a pool hall in the 1920s. However, and this is lame sauce: the prices are the same as in the us, but with a £ instead of a $ sign. So I purchased nothing and left coveting a silk and lace vest.
