Maybe it's the lack of restaurants around or maybe it's just because they are just not good at what they do - they forgot the Italian hospitality and service. How come all the reviews are praising this place?!?! We came here in the afternoon, quite a big group and had a table reserved for us, the menu is a bit confusing as it's full of ads and weird articles. I really felt like having bolognese which is a must in Italian restaurants and they didn't have it, not in the menu and not in the specials. In addition - I had to ask twice for everything (took them 15 minutes to bring my very-not-tasty-from-cheap-syrup Apple juice. My pasta dish was very small, so small I left the place hungry, and not even offered me some Parmesan cheese. One positive thing - the garlic Aioli, which is great.

Three of my traveling mates and I sat down at a table on the outdoor patio to eat at this restaurant. Everyone ordered drinks and one of our four decided that he would rather get a dish from another restaurant. This area has about 10-15 restaurants all together, each with an outdoor patio. Our "outsider", lets call him Andy, ordered his food and then sat back down to enjoy his drink and our conversation. The other restaurant actually delivered his meal, in a take-out container, to our table at the Italian restaurant. All of our meals arrived and our Andy opened up his meal to eat with us. Within one minute, the owner of the restaurant came outside and started to scream at Andy with wonderful Italian hand gestures to go along with the loud voice. It was apparent that he didn't want Andy eating someone else's food at a table in his restaurant. Now, what I object to is not that he was upset about someone eating another restaurants food at one of his tables, it is that he had the opportunity to communicate his concerns in a civil manner. A simple "I am sorry, but this area has a policy where food must be eaten at the restaurant it is ordered at and you will either need to put the food away or take it outside the patio". If that is what happened, we would have been fine. I am glad that the owner didn't have a gun available because it felt like if he did have it, he would have pointed it at Andy. So, what did we do, Andy picked up and sat down at the public fountain that is literally 5 feet away from the tables and ate his meal. If you look thru the pictures for this restaurant you will see one with the outdoor patio tables and you will see the public fountain. After he ate, he came back to the table to finish his drink. Ok, I need at least one comment about the food...we ordered 2 pizza's and a pasta dish. We had just come from Naples, Italy, so the pizza simply didn't live up to anything more than average. The pasta dish was pretty good. All in all...no reason to ever go back after a missed opportunity for better service from the owner.

The waiter is italian and a rather funny guy. He always greets the clients in italian and all his reactions are in italian. I like the guy and his accent in german is really sweet. The menu has a variety of pastas pizzas and a 'fleish' section. It's not exactly cheap but i wont say its expensive. A pasta dish costs between 7 and 10Eur whereas the 'fleish' dish (be it fish, chicken or meat) is at least 13 eur. They serve really good tiramissus too and a number of other italian desserts. I've been there 4 times (i think) for dinner and there was nothing much happening, not a lot of clients Annexed to it is the porta nova lounge which is in the basement. It's owned by two turkish brothers. The joint is also not bad, you can have your food served at the porta nova lounge/bar rather than eat it in the restaurant. I would be back to porta nova but only if i am in that area, i wouldnt go out of my way to eat here.
