Pitter Patter is an awful daycare. My 2 year-old son was enrolled there for seven weeks and the…read morecare he received was abysmal. During just his first week there has was twice released to us at the end of the day with a dry BM in his diaper, indicating that he had been left to sit in his filth for quite some time. On the second of these two occasions, his diaper was barely fastened, and his sneakers were on the wrong feet. Only the most inattentive caretaker could remain oblivious to his improper gait. I brought this up in writing with executive director Kristi Hook, who never followed up with me, despite her assurance that she would look into it. Just one week later he was again released to us with a BM in his diaper, and additionally we saw that one of his feet had been forced into the heel counter of his sneaker, bending it inwards and resulting in a large blister on his heel. I messaged Kristi about this, attaching a picture of said blister, and was just flat-out ignored. I followed up a week later, and she only then informed that the teachers had apparently looked at his foot the following day and didn't see any blister, implying that I somehow imagined it. The last straw was this past Friday, when we noticed after bringing him home that his pants reeked of poo. I went to change his diaper expecting a BM, but instead just some dry fecal residue literally fell out as I opened it, with a fair amount still in his butt crack. That his pants smelled so strongly of feces despite there being only some residue tells me that he had again been left to sit in his filth for an extended period of time, until pick-up. As for the teacher who decided it wasn't necessary to fully clean him after a BM, all I can say is shame on you, and I hope you don't neglect your own kids like that. Each of these incidents on their own may not be exceptionally alarming, but that all of them (and more) happened, and in such a short span of time, with zero attempt on behalf of the facility to remedy it, speaks to a pattern of utter disregard. Pitter Patter prides itself on not being corporate-owned, but our son has spent upwards of a year between Bright Horizons in Northbrook and KinderCare in Schaumburg, and we never encountered anything like the above at those centers. See my Google review of KinderCare--I certainly give credit where it's due. This pandemic has made it especially hard for parents to keep tabs on their kids, so I am sharing our experience at Pitter Patter with others in the hopes that they heed my warning and be extra vigilant of the care their children receive. I do not recommend this daycare.

We were one of the first families at Kiddie Academy of Grayslake when they opened in 2021. We…read moreeventually enrolled both of our young children and for a decent amount of time were happy with the care and enriching educational environment provided by Kiddie Academy. However, all of that changed after a DCFS incident which involved our youngest son and one of the teachers. The entire situation was incredibly upsetting, but we felt as though Kiddie Academy at the time took appropriate action. The teacher was fired immediately and Academy wide training took place. We hoped that it was simply a "bad apple." We made the decision to pull our kids from the care of Kiddie Academy about a year and a half after that first incident when our older son also had a DCFS incident with another teacher. The directors response to that incident after reviewing the footage was so passive that we no longer felt that the safety and care of our children was a top priority. It felt more as though there was a protection of the teacher and the institution happening. Additionally, with this now being the second incident that our family was involved in there seem to be a more widespread problem. It has taken six months for our son to recover from the emotional damage that incident caused. We feel as though Kiddie Academy of Grayslake failed our children in not providing the most basic care and safety to them and we were extremely sad to be leaving under these circumstances.  I have really wrestled with whether or not to post this review, but upon hearing that a coworker of mine had considered this care provider without knowledge of our experience, I am finally making the decision to put our story out there.

My daughter went there for about a year before we got relocated for work. Everyone there is absolutely so so kind. They LOVE each and every kid. They were such sweet people and I wish we could've have kept her there. Love them! Don't look anywhere else because you're not going to find a better daycare center.
