    Restoration Services - Broken ornament

I have a Christmas ornament that is made out of an egg shell that my first grade teacher made for…read moreme. I'm 56 so that gives you a reference of how old it is. A few Christmases ago, my cat tipped over the Christmas tree (first time ever after 10 years having this cat) and I have hard wood floors, so you know what happened. The egg was broken in many places. I was devastated. But I picked up the egg and its broken pieces and put in a plastic bag, determined to figure out how to fix. I spent a few months looking all over the internet and reached out to friends for help with no success. I took a break for a few months and then decided to ask ChatGPT for assistance. The first answer it gave me was Restoration Services. I went to the website and the rest is history as they say. The owner, Micheal, helped me directly. I sent him pictures of the egg and he provided some options to restore it. This was no easy task, I didn't have all the broken pieces so he had to create those missing pieces. It took him close to a year to restore but I got it a few days ago and it's PERFECT! I'm so thankful that he was able to restore my precious keepsake with such precision. I will say this ornament will never be going on the Christmas tree as I will find a way to display in a case on my fireplace mantle. I highly recommend Restoration Services. Thank you, thank you, thank you

I sent an enquiry for cloissone repair for a vase I owned. I was quoted $100-…read more$200, so I shipped them my vase. That cost me $65. When they received it, they said the repair would be $750, more than the value of the vase. They said if I wanted it back, it would cost me $200. I said I did not want to pay more than double of what it cost me to ship it to them. They said they would dispose of it for me. I told them I was unhappy with this program, no response. I sent a follow up email, no response. Very unhappy with this business.

To the person complaining about the 'fee', I say, by all means GO to a lumber yard.... You get what you pay for. Additionally, the AIR is always pleasant and smoke free! The prices are in line with what I expect to pay at an award winning frame shop. I heartily recommend David Pratt and his superior staff of framers!

I've used them for years for framing and matting. They are capable of genius when cutting down a frame to fit another painting. If I want a French mat done, I don't even need to suggest the colors used. If I ask for a watercolor or print to be "floated" on a lower bed while a raised mat surrounds it, a little bit of lovely magic, they can do it. While generally, I do not order frames, they have a great line of frames - both contemporary and traditional. I've priced frames out locally and they are very competitive with their pricing. As to the time it takes for them to complete a project, I've gotten jobs back in 48 hours. It depends on how busy they are. Thankfully for them, lots of people agree with me and there are times when it takes alittle longer to get my project back from them. I have never smelled cigarette smoke in there ever. The gallery is clean, airy, and open. The work that they've done for me has been hung at the Winter Antiques Show in January in New York City. It's hung in my home and the homes of numerous other people. Can't recommend them enough!
