It is one big room with a limited amount of furniture items, some pottery, old beer steins, and a cacophony of other items, with a few larger pieces in an adjacent room. Last time I was here, I picked up an old piece of iron fencing from the 1800's for $35; my Mom plans on using it with her garden. Beware that the couple that runs this place out of the building beside their house goes to Florida for the winter, and comes back up in the spring; if you're unsure of whether they'll be there, I recommend calling ahead. I had purchased a pair of shoes this past April in the Lee Massachusetts store. I wear them less…read morethan 10 times and walked less than 30 miles in them but they started to wear out very badly. I called the store and Lee and they said because they are defective I could bring them in to my local store in Jersey and return them even without a receipt. The least I was also able to look me up and look at my purchase very easily. The next day I drove out to the store and they gave me a horrible time about returning the defective shoes and then were unpleasant to deal with. I spent a half-hour finding an email from bath and then figuring out how to log into my bass account in order to deal with this mess. I finally got into my account and even then the manager said if I didn't have a matching form of payment they would not allow me to return the defective shoes. I should add that the store in Lee said that for defective products you have a year to return them and as you can see in the photos they are defective, unless it is normal that the heels of shoes wear out with 6 wearings and that the elastic breaks with only six wearings. I'm glad I was able to get my money back because I will never shop at Bass again after this interaction. I should also add that before this interaction I had purchased about half my wardrobe from Bass. This company is losing a loyal customer willing to drive very far because she loved the clothes so much and now after dealing with the Lafayette store I will never shop at Bass again. (One more thing... I drove that far because my last boots from Bass lasted 4 years and I loved them. I am literally wearing them right now. Still going but tired after 4 years and +500 miles. But these new ones couldn't make it past 30 miles and this Lafayette store said that the new boots wore out because I walked in them too much. Unbelievable.)

Preferring to support a local independent business rather than the FTD service model, I gave them a price, a general idea of what I wanted, and a great deal of latitude in putting together an appropriate arrangement. The employee who assisted me was very helpful, courteous, and professional. Unfortunately, the arrangement did not appear to be worth the price I agreed to pay. I presumed there may have been some kind of mistake and contacted the owner. I was disappointed when her initial and immediate reaction was a defensive posture, but hoped that if I sent her a photo of the arrangement she might see things a little differently. She did not. She again defended the value of the arrangement. I set to task confirming my instincts with actual data by creating and emailing her a spreadsheet with a breakdown of each stem in the arrangement, the wholesale price of the arrangement, and based on the percentage markup of a comparable arrangement with FTD, what I felt was a fair price for the flowers. Rather than look at the spreadsheet I had spent considerable time compiling and actually responding to it directly, Michelle, the proprietor, lost her shit and started putting words in my mouth. But they were absolute nonsense. She said I was telling her she had a "shady business" which is not true and absolutely ridiculous. What I told her was that she was overpriced. If you're more expensive (and by a large degree) than FTD, you're too fricking expensive. She told me I was "extremely offensive," when in fact, I'd put considerable effort into confirming my general suspicion that I'd been overcharged and was never anything but polite in my communications with her. You don't need to take my word for it. I have copied links below to both the chain of communication, except the initial very brief phone conversation in which Michelle was also quite bristly, and the spreadsheet I compiled to calculate a reasonable estimate of value of the services rendered. If you are looking for a florist in the Hacketstown area you'd do better to contact Calico Country Flowers on Willow Grove Street. I had not asked my mother-in-law for a recommendation before ordering as I wanted it to be a surprise, but have since learned that she has used them in the past and speaks very highly of them.
