You know when flowers won't do the trick? That's when Handy has been, well, handy. They're an average looking shop. In fact, they are an average shop. Decent service, okay range, generally adequate all round. The best thing about them is that they're local people, and shopping from local people is something that I do as much as I can. They're worth checking out if you're at Vermont South anyway.

I dropped off my Seiko SK007 to have a new crystal fitted. I received an email when it was ready to…read morebe picked up. I responded to same advising I would pick it up a few days later. I drove the 40 mins to pick it up only to be told it wasn't ready! When I queried this , I was told it was a generic email. What's generic about ' Your watch repair is complete, please come and collect it' ? It then took a few more weeks until I queried where things were at with it. I was told that the crystal was still some weeks off. I picked it up to take it away and returned it for repair on my return. The crystal was replaced by AWIT and two weeks later it cracked despite having received no knocks. I emailed back in April requesting this to be rectified and to date have not received a reply. We went here to make…read moresome initial enquiries about engagement rings and were shocked by the abrasive and unwelcoming attitude of the staff. In particular, the middle aged man (possibly a son of the owner?) was very rude and snobby. He could or would not answer basic questions and looked very much like he didn't want to be there. They gave a very miserable first impression that made us want to leave there as soon as possible. With such low quality service, I really can't imagine their products being much better.

I paid a…read moresubstantial amount of money to get a valuable watch resealed, he FAILED to fix it then accused me of misuse and told me that it's not possible to reseal older watches, which having consulted with a competent jeweller I can say this is not true at all. Regardless, I explained if true that information would have been useful before I paid to get the work done, his response was he doesn't have to tell his customers things like that, very dodgy! He did not offer my money back or to try again to fix it, instead told me he doesn't need customers like me...that being a person who expects to get what they paid for...so basically everyone!
