This was our first experience and most favorite spot for Pintxos. We came here on our first night in San Sebastián. It was late, we were tired and hungry. There was a line and we were told 30 minute wait. We considered leaving, but realize that we probably would also have a wait anywhere else. And we were happy we did. The pintxos were all fantastic. The foie gras was the highlight of our entire trip. And the price is very reasonable. We came back the next morning for their famous tortilla and found out why it sells out within two hours. It held up to the expectation. I would recommend putting António Bar on your list when in San Sebastián. We can't wait to come back.

Pintxo case. Tortilla de patatas on the counter

Antonio bar was on a YouTube blogger we came across and featured their tortilla de patatas. We showed up shortly after 9am and the bar was full inside, outside counter with customers and there was a line. The bar doesn't like people waiting in the hallway so the line wraps onto the sidewalk. It didn't take long for a couple chairs to become available at the bar. Ordered a cafe with milk and a couple of tortillas. The tortilla is served just about everywhere- tabernas and restaurants in Spain. Antonio's version is different, a really good different. Made with 35 eggs, caramelized onions and potatoes. The caramelized onions really sets their tortilla apart from the rest. We stopped by twice to eat their tortilla. Pintxos start at 7pm. Get there's early for that. We got seats at the bar around 630 pm and finished our cold pintxos from the case. We still had 20 minutes before we could order the hot Pintxos and felt bad just waiting and was about to cash out when our bartender said if you leave it will be hard to get seats later. Ordered another round of drinks and waited it out. Enjoyed the scallops, oxtail won ton, shrimp won ton and foie gras. Food came out quick and as soon as we were done, our seats were quickly occupied. The same servers were there in the morning, there at night. They hustle and it shows. You must go here!

Antonio was perfection on every level. The food is amazing, but the service both at a table or at the bar is outstanding. They are incredibly efficient, organized, knowledgeable, unpretentious and good humored. Their staff works seamlessly together like a world class team. My husband and I visited twice during our stay in San Sebastián and they remembered us when we returned. They see so many people coming and going but they still see you. Maybe because we showed appreciation for their food and service, but that was cool either way. Just a great neighborhood vibe we didn't expect as tourists. Needless to say, this was our favorite spot in San Sebastián. On our first visit, we came just after 1pm for lunch. We sat at the bar and ordered all of their seasonal specials explained. Fresh fried anchovies, white asparagus, artichoke hearts, green pea caviar with egg yolk and jamon, softly scrambled eggs with wild mushrooms, and a couple more traditional pinxtos (all ridiculously good). Tried my first callemocho (red wine and coke- which they made with Diet Coke at my request). Delicious! We were so full we weren't able to try the many other dishes we wanted to. So we came back the next night for dinner. Longer line to get in at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, but it moved quickly and we were seated by 7pm. Had their classics- the shrimp ravioli in martini sauce, the crispy oxtail, the scallops and the fois gras, plus one of the best beef carpaccios we have had (we've had many). Everything was excellent. Truly a great experience all around. Thank you Antonio's for being a highlight of our time in San Sebastián! We came for the food, you delivered that and more. We look forward to visiting again when we return.

While taking a walk in San Sebastián Old Town, we stumbled on this eatery. It was crowded inside and we decided to give it a little wait. There was no line at the time, so after about 5 minutes we were seated at a community table. We were seated with two ladies from Argentina and we had a pleasant conversation over a glass of wine as we perused the menu. The menu is on a QR code and can be translated into English. Turns out this was a tapas or pinxto bar. Full bar and lots of food coming out of the kitchen. We had a couple of glasses of sangria and a pinxto of their Spanish tortilla, which was delicious. The onions were heavily carmelized, which gave this tortilla a nice smoky flavor. We also enjoyed the anchovy tapas, which was a sliced baguette with olive oil, green peppers in oil and the anchovy on top. Very tasty. As a finisher, we were given a flan-like dessert with cinnamon ice cream. All in all, even though by the time we left the line was down the block, still a fun place to meet new people, have good wine and very good tapas. Servers were very nice and atmosphere was electric!

Came back here early to get their tortilla de patatas and it is so good, we had to order 4 orders of it. It's flavorful and full of umami. It is the only potato omelette I have tried so far, but I've been to many pixtos bars, and a lot of the foods they serve is delicious and full of flavor. Coming back for more!

Amazing, favorite pintxos we had on our recent trip. first was the iberico - the best we had in San sebastian. delicious. next up was the fried beef wonton which was insanely good, as well as the langoustine ravioli. then the burrata and tomato salad with anchovies - super refreshing and delicious, very well balanced. And finally the tuna tataki which was the least favorite but still tasty. We returned in the morning to try their mini sandwiches (jamon, jamon with pepper, pastrami and mustard) which were delicious, and of course the tortilla - this one is huge and very messy/wet inside, really tasty with lots of onions and peppers inside.

The tortilla is absolutely amazing, available starting at 9am every day. It absolutely draws a line on weekends, and as each one comes out they sell out quickly. It gets absolutely packed all the time though, even going in at 9:45am on a weekday by myself I had to jockey for a space.

QUICKIE REVIEW By far the best, and richest, tortilla you will have. FOOD This is what I tried: Tortilla Rich and savory, two best words to describe what it tastes like. The onions...goodness. This is truly a breakfast treat but I could see where some people would prefer it for brunch or lunch. To have it first thing in the morning might be a bit much. PARKING NA SERVICE Order at counter, pick up at counter. PRICE Less than $10 TIP/OTHER THOUGHTS Had to come here twice, first time was in the afternoon. Couldn't get a seat if I tried. Second time was in the morning. They brought out the first tortilla at 0930. Worth the second trip.

Friendly service, clean and nice design, good coffee and wine, and most importantly very good pintxos. The cold and hot ones were great and the tortilla was the best so far.

This is the perfect place to grab breakfast and people watch while enjoying a unique tortilla de patata and savory cup of cafe con leche. My wife and I had been in Donostia, or San Sebastian, for nearly a month when we stopped by Bar Antonio after our morning walk. So we had tried tortillas de patata, or Basque omelets, at several places. This one was different! Cooked with the eggs soft, as in some other establishments, this tortilla also included carmelized onions, green peppers and had a crusty top--all of which made for an interesting texture and savory taste. It came with warm bread, and the cafe con leche was frothy and brewed from good coffee! We enjoyed this treat as we sat at the window counter on the street, giving us a view inside the bar and outside as the city came alive on a cloudy but pleasant morning. Truly a worthwhile experience!

    BEST Spanish tortilla!

This is a LOCAL gem located in the upscale shopping district of San Sebastián. It is family owned and run by Antonio and his two sons. We went back 3 times on our visit. The STAR of the restaurant is the Spanish tortilla. It is the best we have ever eaten. It is enormous and full of sweet, carmelized onions. There is nothing eggy about it. I have to try to replicate this when we get back.

We stopped at Antonio Bar towards the end of our trip and I really loved the vibe here. After stuffing myself to the gills on a bocadillo at Haizea, I wasn't really in the mood to eat more, but I had to find something to try. I opted for shrimp that had been battered and fried, along with two generous glasses of txakoli. More than that though, I really loved the vibe here. Filled with mostly locals but had staff that spoke English, this was a really great pintxo spot that was buzzing on a Saturday night. I would definitely come back here - try to sit by the bar, that seems to be where all the haps are!

Not worth over €50. Rip off. Perhaps if it tasted better.

Not worth it. So many little bars and restaurants in Donostia/San Sebastian, we came here on a recommendation. For the taste and quality of the food it wasn't worth over €50 for two glasses of red wine and two orders of pintxos. The food was mediocre and disappointing. We felt like ripped off tourist, actually we were.

I get it, and I could have tolerated it for a bit, except that the service was horrible too. Nothing like our previous visit when we were greeted by friendly people. This time it seemed as though they didn't care to be bothered to serve anyone. I don't know if it was an off night. Either way, we left not long after arriving. It may be a post-pandemic thing, where people are overworked and tired. Hopefully it will improve as time goes on.
