To make things worse, the doctor and his wife were fighting and yelling with each other right there in front of us. So unprofessional! She mentioned the only person that plays a part in my genetic makeup is my mother and no-one else - so even though the majority of heart health issues came from my grandmother, down to my mother and now both myself as well as my sibling that all others aside from my mother was invalid towards me. I don't believe this to be true as I have even my own child with heart problems that had to be seriously addressed at a youthful age. Nevertheless, my siblings are in the medical field. One worked at the Az Heart Hospital for over a decade so I do not agree or believe this practitioner has a full scope. Ileft the office feeling unheard, invalidated and stressed out. Incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. They might specialize in vein restoration and do a excellent job at that, but the fact that can't even take the time to verify insurance indicates a huge problem. I've NEVER had any issue with doctors offices regarding insurance. If there is a issue, they take the time to call me and communicate that. Communication is key.

Dr. Alpern and his staff completed a thorough exam of my veins using ultrasound and then sclerotherapy to get rid of the offending veins. I have to say everyone I saw was helpful, informative and really pleasant. The whole procedures was done in about 30 minutes. Already the leg that had the worst (ugliest) group of spider veins looks much better! I would definitely recommend Vein Specialists of AZ to friends and family. They were great!
