When I first arrived, I was greeted by Yazmin. My only concern was that before reviewing my insurance, I was told I had a $30 copay. I explained that my insurance covers one annual preventive physical at no cost and asked if she could double-check. After speaking with her supervisor, she confirmed that I was correct and that I didn't owe a copay. I appreciated that she took the time to verify it, but I think checking insurance benefits before requesting payment would make first impression smoother. After that, everything was wonderful. Juliana, the medical assistant, was absolutely amazing. She immediately made me feel comfortable, especially since I was there for a physical and Pap smear and hadn't been to a doctor in a little over three years. She was kind, reassuring, and made me feel comfortable. She checked my vitals, blood pressure, oxygen level, and weight, and let me know that everything looked good overall, which really eased my anxiety. She did mention that because my appointment was later in the day, they might not be able to complete my Pap smear or lab work, since those are usually scheduled earlier. When I explained that I had specifically requested a physical, lab work, and a Pap smear when I made my appointment three weeks earlier, she immediately looked into it. Dr. Lillo was absolutely fantastic. Once he was informed of the situation, he made accommodations to fit everything in during my visit instead of making me come back. I truly appreciated his willingness to make it happen. One of the highlights of my visit was having my blood drawn by Azure. (Never thought I would say that) Anyone who gets nervous about blood work knows how much this matters. Azure has incredibly gentle, feather-light hands. Before I knew it, she had found my vein, drawn my blood, and was done. I honestly didn't feel a thing. It was one of the easiest and most painless blood draws I've ever had. The appointment itself was quick; in the best way. As we say in Spanish, it was a true "doctor's visit": efficient, thorough, and straight to the point. I left feeling heard, cared for, and grateful for the entire team. I'll be returning for my lab results, a breast exam, and another consultation to discuss a healthy plan for my weight. I genuinely look forward to continuing my care here. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience and would highly recommend this office. To say the least, that was a mistake. They left me with a $230 bill for a 15 minute visit, X-rays, and a splint that I could've bought at Walgreens for $10. It was worse, and came with a price tag of over $100. Guidera and his PA told me the X-rays they JUST took weren't good enough and recommended that I get a CT scan done. Anyways, after Guidera reviewed the CAT scan, his office informed me that I 'definitely' needed surgery and referred me to another hand surgeon since Guidera was unable to operate on anyone for 4 weeks due to his own surgery/injury. About a year ago I decided to get an implantable estrogen HRT pellet from Arcadia Well Woman. I did…read morea hormone panel and they told me my testosterone was low so they recommended I add some testosterone. I agreed, but the testosterone had an adverse affect on my and I spent the next three months irritable, aggressive, and full of uncontrollable anger. It affected my relationships. I almost lost my husband because of my mood shifts and irrational anger. I lost my self esteem, I grew body hair all over and I hated myself. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't think rationally. It was like a monster had taken control of my body and wouldn't let go. I decided I would never make the mistake of adding T to my hormones again. Last month I decided I wanted to try the pellet again, minus the testosterone. I went in for a checkup, and thoroughly explained what had happened last time and that while I wanted an estrogen pellet, I did not want testosterone again. The doctor agreed, she said "That was way too much, we won't do that again." We scheduled the procedure for late May. The procedure took place last thursday, and when it was over I said "I'm glad I won't have to deal with that testosterone anymore." and the doctor responded "What do you mean, we put testosterone in this pellet too." I told them to take the pellet out immediately, that we had had a thorough conversation about this and I made it clear that under no circumstances did I want testosterone. She said she didn't remember the conversation. I told her it's explicitly her job to remember the conversation. She told me there's nothing in the records about it. I told her it's explicitly her job to keep those records. The pellet had already crumbled in my body at this point and she informed me that she was unable to remove it. She gave me supplemental estrogen and prescribed spirolactone, but neither has proven effective in keeping this aggression in check. I am now faced with the prospect of another three months of artificial irritability, anger, and rage, and it is directly the fault of Arcadia Well Woman. It was malpractice, and it was assault. I wish I had the capacity to sue them. I wish I had the grace to let it go. But thanks to their actions, I have neither. Under no circumstances would I ever recommend someone go to this doctor.
