It was cardio and the funniest thing was the guy running the session out the front. He was the gayest, hypoest, fluroest most energetic fitness instructors I've ever seen. But he got us all running around, in a good mood and working out. The session was good, and the actual gym is quite nice too. It's kind of a warehouse setup, new looking inside and very open and dark with coloured lights and mirrors. Our session was only $5 but I don't know if that was discounted at all, but in a good location to go to after Magill Uni.

The best thing about Payneham Pool is that you can almost always get a lane to yourself for lap swimming (as long as you don't go during swim carnivals obviously), I like being able to rock up at my leisure and have a lane of my own. This place has enough room for kids and adults to swim and have a good day without fearing for their lives: this is not so much the case at the big leisure centres that are packed with madness and slides. The staff here are really nice (as you don't dive over the lane ropes, don't do that), and there's heaps of shaded grass areas to hang out in. It's a beautiful day and a nice relaxed vibe, dive on in.

This specific workout is 30 minutes of strength training, cardio and stretching activities, which burns up to 500 calories. Curves is actually the largest fitness franchise in the world and generally a cheaper alternative to most other gyms. Personally it's not my kind of gym, however I believe it is a great option for many others. Located on Unley Road, Curves gym is quite small and not the typical home to a common gym junkie. Do not expect treadmills and weight rooms, however rather a woman friendly environment designed to improve your health and loose weight safely. As well as the swimming centre with lessons and public times they also have a full gym / health club with creche facilities available. They have an aqua playgroup so you can get your little one acquainted with the water in a much calmer and more constant environment that the beach. They also have 2 of the coolest inflatables that go in the pool which kids and adults love the challenges of alike. They are so much fun for everyone. In addition the recreation centre side of it offers ballroom dancing, netball, volleyball, basketball, soccer, squash, roller skating and something I have never seen offered anywhere else - dodgeball! A friend of mine played netball here and was in an actual team but I know for dodgeball you can just go and they will put you in a team or use a couple of groups to make up a team. The kids think it's great fun, I love the fact it gets out some of their energy! They do some great roller skating events too and on the old school skates with 4 wheels, and no, they are not in one row! So much fun and being a government leisure centre all options here are a LOT cheaper than taking the kids elsewhere.

Trust me though you'll want to be in the water because swimming centers are by no means fun when your sitting in the humidity. There is also a gym, spa and sauna so really it is the complete package. Not a great place for professional swimming but good for children learning to swim and exercise. Expect to pay around $6 dollars for and adult and $5.20 for kids.

These gardens are actually quite lovely, and pleasant, and they do provide a lovely place to lie down and enjoy a nice day, especially if you happen to be board between classes. Of course there are a few animals down here as well, though I would hold off from feeding them, and I discovered the hard way. However, this place certainly does have quite a lot of charm about it.

This is a place with more personal stories involving late night visits with your best friends, post-dinner strolls, weddings, and nappers, a relaxing getaway for students who need to have a breather, walkers, and of course, intimate lovers. There's just deep personal satisfaction gained from walking or jogging through here, alongside River Torrens, crossing the dark green Victoria Drive bridge, looking up at the tall trees before me - everything about this place makes anyone's experience absolutely breathtaking. One of the first places you need to go if you are new and exploring Adelaide, I've overhead plenty of tourists walking past here. This Garden is definitely one of the best places for a stress-relieving walk...ahhh.....I'm away from the noisy hustle and bustle of the city!
