It is so apparent that some important standards left when he did. It is still a fabulous facility that is very well equipped. Everything that I can point out as a negative can be traced back to staff not doing their jobs. I can remember back when Red had a courteous staff that kept everything picture perfect. Now when I go in, it pangs me to see dirty towels strewn about the facility, trash cans overflowing, garbage on the floor, etc. Unsupervised kids is another problem. Inattentive staff compounds that issue. Not long ago, I witnessed a kid jumping down from a second floor walking track so his friend could film it. It was in full view of the front desk, but their attention was on their phones. I tried to report this to another staff member who let me know that it wasn't his area to deal with. I would hope that they would get on the ball and bring the facility back to its glory. If you can't do it for the members who pay a premium price to go, at least do it to honor the man who brought one of the greatest gyms in the country to Lafayette.

I wasn't complaining about anyone personally -- just the aggressive sales culture. I received the same generic response they give everyone, with no follow-up or concern. Shortly after, I submitted a cancellation request for my training because I no longer felt comfortable with how the club was being run. At that point, nothing was escalated -- I was willing to finish out the month and pay my upcoming charge. Then I learned the trainer I had been working with would no longer be allowed to continue through the end of the year. When I went to speak with Will, the regional manager, he argued with me about supplements, dismissed my concerns, blamed others for my opinions, and spoke to me very condescendingly. I still planned to finish the month despite that interaction. The next day I was told the trainer was officially gone, and management immediately tried to push a reassignment on me without acknowledging anything that had happened or how uncomfortable I already felt. Evann contacted me as if nothing had occurred, even though he was included in the same emails where I clearly stated I wanted to cancel. It felt like pressure rather than customer service. Then Stephen, their boss, emailed me only to dismiss everything again -- denying that anything had materially changed, refusing to acknowledge Louisiana law, and insisting my "requests would not be met." Throughout this situation, I've been ignored, talked over, blamed, and treated with complete disrespect by management. What started as a simple desire to cancel training has turned into me wanting out of the entire club. I am filing complaints with the Louisiana Attorney General and BBB. Members deserve a gym that values them, listens to concerns, and follows the law. Unfortunately, this is not one of those gyms

It's cheap and it has great equipment and you can access it whenever you want, even though the staff hours are very limited. So for this reason I would say that it's way better than training at one of those expensive gyms and paying for more things that you don't need and way less of the stuff that you actually really do.

Positive side....there are a couple of ladies on the weekend crew who are absolutely outstanding. They are always friendly and seem genuinely excited to see people come and send encouragement as people go!!! This is the service that causes me to refer the gym to others. They run a ton of special health and nutrition programs and have a wide variety of fitness classes. They have all the usual things one would expect to find in a gym: treadmills, elipticals, exercise bikes, and tons of weight machines as well as TV's to watch while you work out. They also offer personal training and have a place to watch your children while you exercise. I was only visiting Lafayette for a month but I absolutely love this place and will join again the next time I am in town for awhile.

Several of them were very rude and showed very little respect for me and my friends. They interrupted me when I spoke or ask a question and generally acted like they had better things to do than answer a question or two. They have a lot of outdoor workout training sessions but it's way too hot for that. Some of them involve running laps--on a busy road. All in all, you pay a lot of money to train at a small facility with a few snarky trainers.

If your heart rate gets to high, you fail and go home. I recommend not sending any employee here. Send them somewhere else . I enjoyed Chanell coaching as she seems to be the only one with any common sense. Again- do not send employees here- out of 15 guys we had 15 bad reviews.
