Do you enjoy the smell of sweat and using dirty/broken equipment? Then this is the gym for you!…read moreWant a guest pass? That'll be $20 for one day, please! The first thing you'll receive upon entering this "gym" is a slap in the face by the overwhelming stench of sweaty balls and old leather. Walk a little further and you'll meet their staff, they're great too! Relentless attitude, scoffs, and you're definitely on your own if you need to find anything because they sure won't help you! You need dumbbells? Well you're in luck because now you get to go on a hunt to find the right ones because none of them are in order, or even there at all. It's as if they're trying to say, "Hey, while you're working out your muscles, you might as well work out your brain too!" If you get off on sitting on cracked and worn leather benches then this is definitely the gym you're looking for. Not a single bench is without a rip, crack, or stain! There's even some leftover "seasoning" from the last person who used it, because God forbid they supply you with disinfecting wipes. Let's not forget the cardio equipment. Rhythmic squeaks will lull you to sleep, peeling labels will sure get those brain muscles flexing, and sometimes they're missing handrails, because you clearly need to strengthen those stabilizing muscles! When you finally leave, you'll enjoy the lasting effects of a lighter wallet and feeling like you need a shower, and not just because you worked out.

The manager and employees here are trained to make up rules and prices to squeeze more money out of customers. Excited for to pay only $8.88 a month for the summer? Just wait and see what requirements and fees the crew will think up for you! "Must be a local", "must pay from a checking account" were some of the better ones I got. In the end, I was cajoled into paying 40$ for a week pass. "You're getting a bargain", "We don't even have to do that," I was told. Gym experience is quite bad as well. The gym is essentially a warehouse decorated with some cheap, disorganized equipment. Smell is awful, as well.

Not only that but I was told I would be considered as a no-show and charged the associated fees because 'other people could have booked'. Of course they are keeping the class fee that's completely understandable but they are telling me (in person 7 minutes after my class started) that they will be charging me a 'No Show' fee even though I am standing in front of them while the class is going on. They refused to check us off as having showed up even though it was clearly obvious they were capable of doing so but just taking a hard stance behind it would go against 'policy' For first time client experiencing B/Spoke I really am disappointed how we were treated. I get that we can't enter because we are late, and of course the class payment would be forfeited as well, I am not expecting a refund but don't gouge customers for no show fees while they are standing your gym late for a class that is going on. Highly recommended that policy be changed online. Pretty bad customer experience.

In short, I've always been a fan. They're consistently a great studio experience regardless of location and I have always loved the staff I've encountered. Being on the cape this weekend to run Falmouth, I decided to pop into a HIIT Strength class at the Cape House with Ashley. And oh my goodness, it was amazing! Absolutely loved the programming and absolutely loved Ashley's energy! Such a great class. I never thought I could lot a mat HIIT class like I loved this one. Even the fellow classmates were great and high energy. If you're on the cape and looking for a stellar experience, run - don't walk - to Cape House. It easily rivals any studio experience you'll find in a big city and then some. Thank you Ashley and B/SPOKE for a phenom experience!

fitness 500 is a great gym, from the beginner to the IFBB this is the gym to visit. In the summer…read moreit can be a bit crowded but I'll always get my workout in. I highly recommend visiting Fitness 500 to any one visiting the cape or a local looking for a gym.

As a long time member, Fitness 500 periodically has staffing issues when the employee that opens up…read morethe gym at 5:00 am or 6:00 am (weekend) does not show up. This leaves a dozen+ members waiting in the parking lot guessing when the doors will open or if they should go home. And honestly, things happen it's about how a business handles them that tells the story. That is where this review starts... For the 2nd time this month the person opening the gym no showed. Instead of Fitness 500 using this as an opportunity to go above and beyond or wow members they instead get defensive, testy, and full of excuses. The manager, 'L' may be a fine personal trainer but needs to spend more time learning how to speak to the public when such situations arise (this coming from a career executive who cringes when I read 'L's' emails other members share with me). Heaven forbid Fitness 500 would credit dedicated early morning members, but a simple stand at the door the next morning and proactively apologize would go a long way. Send an email, facebook post, or do something PROACTIVELY to acknowledge the frustration instead of waiting on members to contact you upset. Imagine if you wrote an email to Fitness 500 with your frustration and the next time you came in they said grab a drink from the cooler 'on us' for your trouble. THAT is customer service. THAT is wowing your customers, THAT is something memorable that members share with other members instead of people pissed off talking trash to one another about how poor Fitness 500 customer service is. And lastly.. when the owner gets involved, STOP yelling at members. Multiple members have shared this. We WANT Fitness 500 to be successful. WE WANT to have a fun gym community. Fitness 500 has every opportunity to come out shining in a unfortunate situation that seems to be reoccurring. But fails to do so each time and instead puts down members encouraging them to cancel. Nice!

We love the place yes the equipment is older than you might find at a chain store gym but everything works and you get the job done but it's also about the people. I was however charged. when I called to find out about it Rocky answered and started right off hostile to me. he told me I was supposed to know the EFT was going to come out on the 10th (even though EFTs come out anytime during then month) bc it gets logged on the 1st. I didn't even mind that. So it's something to learn no big whoop. But the problem was his daughter an employee told me I would not be charged and still...I wasn't upset about this....but...after awhile of just being yelled at bc Rocky just yells at people I told him I was going by what his employee told me but whatever how do we move forward? I just wanted to get to the other side where I was even clear about what was happening next. I just got yelled at. when he used the f word (for no reason I'm trying to get along and diffuse, not fight) I just started thinking, "you run a business bro. this is how you treat your customers? brow beat them and try to make them feel bad for listening to your employees?" customer service was like from the 70s. no sense. no respect. after being yelled at enough I told him to cancel my membership I don't want to freeze. now I'm wondering if I'll be getting the refund check he's supposed to supply next week. seems like the type of place that will try to screw me over on that too. don't go here.
