I am sure orange theory may be great at some locations but the two females at the desk are…read moreextremely rude and have poor customer service. Scheduled an appointment there and was turned away because I did the consult upon signing up in comparison to coming in early 30mins before the workout. The effort it takes someone to get up at 5:30am let along 5:00am is extremely challenging and then to be turned away is humiliating. No, thanks! I'll pass on that membership.

The trainers at this location (Delta, BC 72nd and 120TH) are fantastic.... but the manager has no…read moreconcept of customer service. Don't dare run late after a long day of work for your first free class (meaning instead of showing up 30 mins before, you show up 15 mins) because she won't let you in- this was yesterday sept 10th 2018. How long does it take to talk about 2 pieces of equipment in a facility- a rower and a treadmill??????? The paper work takes 5 mins, so the tour of approx. 2000 sq feet takes????? This happened to my husband I was referring to the gym, I went for my first day Sept 6th and officially started my membership On sept 10th. This also happened in front of other people waiting to go into class...one member mentioned she did her orientation in 15 mins and can't understand the issue. I cancelled my membership at this location (closer to home but the class times are limited anyways) and going back to south surrey - which is an amazing location!!!! Folks membership isn't cheap here (full access is $177 per month), for that price tag you think you would get good customer service, understanding, flexibility. Me and my husband work full time and have kids at home, we squeeze this stuff in just like everyone else... no common sense was applied. Also, to get your free first class as advertised everywhere, they'll ask if you live close by- how is that relevant???? Maybe I work close by, maybe I'm working out with friends... what does this matter??? I intended to refer my friend and husband here and that is no longer happening. Save yourself the time and go to south surrey. South surrey has a better manager, better class schedules and amazing trainers. Delta may be closer to home but no concept of customer service. When asked if there was someone else I could speak to in head office, the manager said no. I made a comment that Trevor Linden owns these facilities and I imagine there is a corporate head office and she smirked and advised me that she wouldn't give me his phone number- did I ask for the mans number? She literally left me no option but to go on review sites and social media. The website has no contact us options unless it's about membership or franchising. This manager accepted my cancellation request with no second thought or comment- I have the paperwork to prove it. I was literally an active member there for one day (not including my 30 days cancellation period). The fact that there is a regional manager at orange theory is news to me. Thanks for your response- look forward to hearing from the regional manager. UPDATE Sept 11, 2018- 6:45 pm- Later this afternoon came and went, we're into the evening and no call.

Lack of professionalism at HD Fitness, despite its name suggesting High Definition standards, my…read moreexperience at HD Fitness was far from that. As a regular client, I was disappointed by the lack of engagement during my personal training sessions. The coach frequently used his phone , missed some appointments 1:1 training sessions, and appeared disengaged or exhausted during sessions I paid for. Despite raising these concerns--supported by video evidence--the gym declined to take responsibility and instead provided misleading explanations. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) accepted and investigated an official complaint regarding that gym. Despite clear and documented evidence, the gym refused to cooperate or acknowledge any wrongdoing. More concerning, I was later accused of harassment and disrespect, which I believe was an attempt to shift focus away from the original issue. I also received warnings not to speak about the matter outside the gym. A formal complaint has been filed with the Better Business Bureau, and a report has also been submitted to the police regarding these acts of intimidation. In addition, the gym promotes 5-star reviews by offering a $5 incentive (as shown in a screenshot), which may influence how ratings are perceived. This is the first negative review I have ever written. I have since left the gym and believe others should be aware of these issues. If you're considering joining, I highly recommend you look beyond the first few stars and check other reviews. My full complaint is available on the BBB website if you would like to learn more. I have a Canada-wide membership and been to GoodLife locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton &…read moreWinnipeg...but I live closest to this location so it sees me the most often. First the good: Like all GoodLifes, it has a very good selection of cardio machines and a pretty good selection of plate-loaded/selectorized machines. The gear is all kept in good shape, and faulty equipment is usually repaired within a few days. There are two full dumbbell racks, three power cages, stretching areas, a group class room, spin class room, nice change rooms and showers etc. Lots of parking outside. The not-so-good: Crowded and smelly - especially the free weight area. Quite a few metal-heads and juicers - but not as bad as some other gyms in town. It's almost impossible to get a weight bench between 6pm and 10pm most evenings. Waiting lines are common for the more popular machines like the single pec/deltoid deck. Users rarely ever re-rack their weights, leaving them for you to stumble over or search for. The floor space isn't efficiently allocated for this location - as mentioned, the free weight area is always crowded, but the huge cardio area is never at more than 50% capacity, and I've never, ever seen anyone use a spin bike in the adjacent spin class room. The spin area and part of the cardio area should be repurposed with more benches, free weights and plate-loaded machines. This would help balance out the usage in the club. Signs reminding members to re-rack their weights would also be a very good idea. UPDATE : February 2017 Had to knock a star off. The gym had a large room where fitness classes were held, but it was very underutilized. Rarely more than five or six people in there at any given time. This room has been converted into a women's only gym... and is now used even less than before. I'm sitting in the co-ed gym right now and there are 4 women in here but only one in the women's only gym - which seems typical on my visits. This wouldn't be an issue except that management moved ALL the Hoist machines into the women's side, making them inaccessible to male patrons and screwing up many a workout. Unsurprisingly attendance at the gym seems down significantly. I know that I've been forced to go to GoodLife's Burnaby location and other gyms to get access to a full range machines. Management here had a chance to to improve the Surrey location per my original criticisms, but instead they've found a way to make it worse. Unbelievable.

I didn't hate the gym until I noticed how no one wipes down their equipment! I approached the…read morepeople at the front desk on numerous occasions advising them of this and they said "they are well aware of the issue" but "there's nothing they can do!" Of course there are things they can do. It is simply DISGUSTING!!! I havent seen any signs asking people to clean their machines and the cleaning staff never does it either! It smells horrendous in there and the gym is obviously unsanitary. I'm regretting signing a contract with this gym solely due to their lack of hygiene.
