We traveled to Apache Junction for the first time on 04-15-25 to check it out. It's a cool little place. While we were there, we spotted a trail ride booth for Apache Trail Tours. The prices were great, but you just never know what kind of quality you'll get, even with expensive rides. We had our 6 year old with us, so we were praying that he wouldn't get bored haha! It was extremely hot outside too. We chose the 1 hour ride (just to play it safe), and we were blessed with an old cowboy named "Fast Eddie" as our driver and guide. Without exaggeration, we fell in love with Eddie in about one minute. The trail was awesome, but Eddie was better. The man was absolutely packed full of information and knowledge. We're from Northwest Pennsylvania and had a million questions. Eddie answered ALL of our questions, and incorporated them into his standard presentation. He was especially good with our 6yr. old, and kept everything extremely interesting. Eddie explained wildlife, rocks, views of the mountains, weather, etc, etc, etc..... WE COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIM!!!!!!!! Eddie stopped at several predetermined locations for beautiful views and photo opportunities, but he would also stop anytime we asked him to. We could see that he was one with nature, and that he absolutely loved all the plants and wildlife around him. It was so awesome!!!!!!! I don't know much about the company, we enjoyed our tour and our tour guide more than I can really express on here. Eddie was a great representative of the state of Arizona, as well as Apache Trail Tours. The man was like a historian, college professor, kindergarten teacher, comedian, rancher, cowboy, bullrider, park ranger and old friend all at once. Truly remarkable! read more

We booked a large group at the relatively last minute and Jan was really nice and got us booked! We had an amazing backroads almost sunset tour with Smokey and Sandman! We all totally recommend! They gave us history of the flora and fauna, the awesome geology of the land, and the stories of the people who lived on it. They were really funny and nice asking whether we wanted to go the smoother or the rough way (go the rough!!!!) The cranky husband said they saved the day because he doesn't like tourist traps and Goldfeild was a bit too much for him but he LOVED the trip out into the desert! Our tour guide, Sandman, was very funny, personable, and made the historical knowledge amazing to learn! The views were stunning, we took a ton of photos, and visiting Tortilla Flats was truly fun. I've lived here for about 20 years and I learned so much and saw the most beautiful parts of the desert for the first time. Had a great tour with "Lobo" to explore our new area. He is a resident and lives on Superstition mountain and was a wealth of knowledge about Saguaro cactus and animals in the area. The ride was comfortable but if you get carsick, take some pills beforehand because the road has a lot of switchbacks. Take lots of pictures, the scenery is awesome! read more

Our guide, Boots, was friendly and knowledgeable. She maneuvered the terrain expertly and made for a very comfortable 1 hour ride and experience my whole family enjoyed. (2 adults, 12 yr old and 6 yr old) Dress warm and enjoy!! My only complaint is that is was FREEZING. We were visiting from Chicago and ignorant to how cold it is in the desert in the mornings, we foolishly under-dressed. It would have been great if blankets were offered, even for purchase. Lobo was amazing on our 90 minute desert 4 x 4 tour. His knowledge of the land, cactus research, water resources, geology, local folklore and reality in Arizona were entertaining and informative. He cited his sources for credibility, such as the University of Arizona or Arizona State, for example. He was kind and warm to the guests. He offered a mid way stop to stretch our legs and have cold water from his cooler. He gave excellent information on wildlife and ensured our safety. Ask about the creosote bush! He will show a demonstration on the amazing plant! So glad that my daughter and I had this tour. Loved it! read more

We did the three hour tour and it was awesome. Our guide and driver, Rex was so personable and informative. He told us lots of history about the area and also the plant life and some geology. We opted for the two hour tour which was perfect. I would skip the extra hour for the three hour tour you go down a steep unpaved road. The ride is full of twists and turns and at times is unpaved. We did stop at a look out point for photos and some additional info on the plants, etc. I would recommend this trip. It was well worth it. read more

I took my 11 grandson on a 30 trail ride 2 weeks ago and he had a blast. Came to Goldfields today to let my 9 year old grandson have the same experience. The ticket office was closed so I called them. They told me that since there were only 2 of us we'd have to do an hour tour for $100 total vs $60 for half hour tour. I can't afford $100 as I'm on disability. Why the change in just 2 weeks? Very disappointed and won't ever deal with this company ever again read more

I booked a one-hour excursion as a Valentine's Day gift for my husband. We booked last night for today's 2:00 time slot because we wanted to take advantage of the wonderful weather conditions. Our guide, Timbuktu, was friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the town and about the various plants in the desert. Today's scenery was spectacular, but if we go again, we would wait until late March/early April in order to see the desert plants in full bloom.
