All of my reviews for Braga are just whining about their lack of outlets in cafes. Ape Coffee has coffee. It has outlets. It has wifi. It has a couch. It has a bathroom. It has a surprising amount of seating upstairs. And it has crepes.
Are the crepes particularly good? No, they are not. They're fine. I don't think I have particularly high crepe expectations, since 80% of the crepes I've eaten in my life were probably on St Marks Place (at the Crooked Tree, which was my go to date spot in college) and far too many of the rest were at a very short lived place in Ditmas Park where the owner angrily, and publicly, defended his right to have a cafe full of mice after he was shut down by the health department. Sadly, there was another place that we referred to as "baby mouse place" and that was my favorite spot in the neighborhood. New York is a disgusting city.
Anyway, the crepes aren't great. No mice, though. And they're cheap.
Daqui has better people watching opportunities. Ape is better if you actually want to get work done, rather than pretend to get work done while actually people watching. read more
