This company operates a fraudulent scam with pre-paid gas. They will lie to you about the price of gas, their records artificially increase the size of the gas tank in your rental car and then they still over-charge you for that inflated amount of gas at the false price. Normally I avoid the pre-paid gas trap because I know it's harder to return a car empty than it is to return it full and you end up swallowing the cost of any gas you leave in the tank. But the agent assured us that what we'd be pre-paying was 40% less than the cost of a full tank, so logically, even if we returned it nearly half full, we'd break even. However, during the course of our travels we ran the car to almost bone dry during a cyclone, when gas prices had gone up considerably and even then, the cost of filling it up was around 20% less than the amount they had charged us for the pre-paid tank of gas. So we researched the car online and discovered that the size of the gas tank was substantially smaller than the size they used to calculate the amount of gas to over-charge us for. We confronted the agent with this fact when we returned the car and they refused to do anything about it, cynically offering to let us speak with the manager on Monday (we were flying out on a Sunday). Shame on you, Apex! read more
