The attitude and communication were not what I expected from a professional medical facility. When I checked in, I was told that my insurance was accepted, and I was asked to provide a credit card to keep on file. Based on that conversation, I understood that my insurance would be properly processed and that I would be informed of any additional charges before my card was charged. Several days later, I received a hospital bill/charge that I was not expecting. I was not clearly informed that I would be responsible for this amount or that my card could be charged for the balance. I understand that insurance claims and billing can sometimes be complicated, but patients deserve clear communication about what they may owe. The front office should explain any potential out-of-pocket costs and charges before billing the patient. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both customer service and communication with patients.

We are appalled that she never bothered to contact my husband regarding the results of his lab test results. Not a call, not a text, NOTHING! At times texts are fine to answer many questions, however when a patient requests a call to speak to the doctor directly, not by text and she never responds, it is unacceptable. Even after speaking directly to the office staff regarding a call back and told two days in a row that the doctor would call us back that NEVER happened. We just got another useless text. If Dr. Amy Schettino does not want to take the time to have a short conversation with a patient on occasion, and will only respond with a text she should not be practicing medicine on patients. We did not receive the medication prescribed in the form that was discussed in her office. She asked how we preferred it administered and confirmed this in a clear discussion at the end of our appointment. We called the office and spoke to an assistant who kept blaming us for not understanding what form of the medication was ordered. We understood EXACTLY what form of medication was discussed. It was not the first time my husband used this medication. Take responsibility for your mistakes! The medication was ordered in a different form than the first time we used it which caused confusion resulting in delayed administration of the medication. This caused my husband to be in pain and severe discomfort longer than necessary. Specific messages were left regarding this issue requesting a phone call from the doctor to discuss it. A call was never received. We also called asking if one part of the lab results were back and were told they would let us know the next day regarding that particular part of the results. We never heard back regarding the result we asked about with a call or a text. We understood there was a different culture that would take several weeks. As stated, we never received a call about any of the results to discuss what further measures should be taken. We went to the portal several weeks later to review the lab results that we were informed would be available after several weeks. Dr. Amy Schettino did not have the decency to get in touch with us regarding the results and to discuss them. This is despicable. What respectable physician ignores their patients lab results and never calls to discuss them. I come from a family of many physicians and if they treated their patients the way Dr. Amy Schettino treated us, they would not have a practice. We had to request the medical records four times in ten days without them being sent to our primary care physician. If you do not have the respect for a patient that needs to speak to you on occasion you should not be practicing medicine. It takes more than some medical knowledge to be a good doctor. It takes communication with your patients in a timely and considerate manner. That means a short conversation on occasion. You are required to follow up on your patients lab results in a reasonable timeframe. We also learned that his symptoms could be other issues that she never addressed in her diagnosis or from his lab results. We requested my husbands records and proceeded with another capable, caring and responsive ENT physician at a different practice. Our new physician discussed in detail with us my husbands results and what was causing his symptoms. Now that I have researched many of your reviews I wish I had read them before we visited your office. We never would have trusted you with his healthcare. After he had me on 2 different statins - and ignored the fact that my memory was being affected, I stopped going to him (multiple reasons). Since then I've been hoping to find a cardiologist who not only is up on the very latest medical information and has extremely impressive cardiology training - but who considers integrative options and actually listens and truly respects me as a patient who asks lots of questions. In my first appointment, Dr. Reingold took a detailed summary of my medical history and keyed into several important points on my medical history that were totally overlooked by my previous doctor (and every other doctor I've been to over the years). I was extremely impressed with his knowledge and his quest to confirm my currently accurate heart health. He prescribed two tests which we then reviewed at my 2nd appointment - and subsequently ordered some labs to get the complete diagnosis and plan of attack. (I've not yet made the appointment for the lab work for those tests which are also very impressive and not just basically standard from most cardiologists.) (Note: Dr. Reingold already changed the dosage on the blood pressure meds I have been on for 2 years. My blood pressure is low, and my internist never keyed in on this.) Weeks later, a surprise $550 bill showed up that no one warned me about. I was so done dealing with this office I just paid it rather than fight it again.The test itself came back completely normal, and no one from the practice ever called to explain the results or discuss next steps -- I had to look them up myself. This office runs on volume and confusion, not communication. Strongly recommend against.
