Yummy cute spot near the Frankfurt central train station for local eats. Some reviews suggest it's…read moreclosed but it's just moved over a little while the main restaurant is under construction - check their website for the latest (they have details in English). Nice ambience and staff all speak English and are good at suggesting dishes to try! Beware portions are large - even by American standards!! My partner and I got 2 apps and a main to share and could not finish. We got the hand cheese music(?), beef sausage salad and a mushroom schnitzel. The schnitzel was by far the star of the show (as we should have expected)! The cheese is famous so we had to try it but sheep's cheese is a bit too strong for me and it had a harder texture than I prefer. My partner liked it though so I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're adventurous!! We also got their homemade lemonade which was a fizzy raspberry lemonade. Pretty good as well but wish I had tried one of their ciders!

They're trying to stick to the monastery beer vibe but it doesn't hit the mark in that regard. The old place was cozy and old and felt authentic, this place is new, loud and generic. Maybe it's not so bad and I'm sore because I miss the old place but it just doesn't feel the same. Service was good, food was good, beer cold but it still feels like every other place out there. Probably won't be back, unfortunately. If you like well lit, upscale, generic restaurants try this one out. The food is good but the ambience is off.

Twelve-hour delay at Frankfurt Airport. Twelve. Hours. At my age that's a medical condition, not a…read moreschedule. Rather than stare into the abyss of Gate Z-97, I did what any reasonable adult would do: I escaped on a train into town. Best decision of the trip. This place was an absolute oasis. Staff was warm, friendly, and spoke English (thank you, global civilization). Beer was exactly as advertised -- cold, honest, and doing the Lord's work. Food was excellent and arrived faster than my flight did. The place was immaculately clean, which I noticed immediately because that's what we do now. Even the bathrooms downstairs were spotless -- a bold move and one they pulled off flawlessly. If you're stuck in Frankfurt with a long layover, don't panic. Get on the train. Come here. Have a beer. Eat well. Remember why traveling used to be fun before airlines ruined it. Highly recommend. Would delay my flight again (not really, but you get the idea).

We came to this location in the early summer for German food and German beer. Because the weather…read morewas nice, they were primarily seating people outside. We sat in the shadow of the cathedral. The food was sufficiently German, on par with German food I've had elsewhere. Lots of meat, lots of mushrooms. The beer was Paulaner; we tried other flavors of this typical beer. It seemed like most of the other customers were also tourists, so they're probably used to international visitors at this location. Come here when you're in Frankfurt for a typical beer garden experience.
