We should have gone with Home Depot, but wanted to support local small business and used…read moreLisa/Kitchen Krafter for gut renovation of a small condo kitchen, which turned out to be a BIG Mistake. Could have purchased the same cabinets and countertop at a Big Box store, but might have ended up with a 21 inch sink as requested, and not a 21 inch sink base, which resulted in an 18 inch sink - the difference was never explained. But the big problem was the contractor Lisa highly recommended as a "craftsman" - George Evans. He continuously made misrepresentations about timing (gross delays, even by contractor's standards). A number of important elements needed to be redone (e.g., wrong type/color of paint, counter top design and grout), because he did not follow specific written and verbal instructions, and could not focus on time management, details, and task completion. He persistently gave excuses and blamed others (subcontractors) for delays and errors; after a point, he lost credibility. We ended up accepting his mistakes as design compromises, just to get the job done and get George out of the house. Bottom Line: I CANNOT recommend Kitchen Krafter.

After contacting our insurance company we began a search for new kitchen cabinets. We visited the large box stores (Lowes and Home Depot) but were unhappy with both the pricing (even after "discounts") and the level of expertise of the employees assigned to the kitchen department. A friend told us of Kitchen Krafter and my wife and I decided to try them. We were helped by Lisa and Carla, two of the most knowledgeable kitchen cabinet people I have ever met! After innumerable phone calls and questions, we purchased our kitchen cabinets and crown molding from them, at a less expensive price then the box stores (same products!). When the cabinets arrived my wife didn't like the grain on one of the cabinet doors (subjective opinion), so Lisa had it quickly exchanged without any problem. Such personnal service and product expertise could not be matched by any other cabinet supplier that we met with. Go with these gals - they are great!

We had just purchased a house in Cape May and decided on using Artisan to renovate our kitchen; all the flooring in the house and the tile on the porch; and, coordinate many of our other needs (ie ceiling fan and lighting installations). Jeffrey was our main point of contact for our project which he helped design; make recommendations; and provide us with guidance. Jeff was patient, communicative, and very friendly from first consultation til the last day. But what I appreciate about him the most is the attention to detail he had and ensuring that everything was done in an order that both made sense as well as left the house in a perfect state. We visited the showroom several times throughout the process to grab samples to take to the house so we could see how things would look in our home. Everyone we met at Artisan was very friendly and accommodating. The craftsmanship and work product was fantastic. After demolishing the old kitchen, they had put in all new kitchen cabinets and installed all new appliances for us. They removed the old carpet throughout the house and put in new laminate flooring. They replaced the carpet in our front porch with a beautiful tile. The list goes on and on. I highly recommend Jeff and the team at Artisan for your home renovation needs! Thanks!!

They were completely unprofessional and the quality of their work was terrible. We visited the garden center to purchase trees, shrubs, and flowers for a customer project and, during checkout, asked whether they offered a contractor discount. We were then asked to provide proof that we owned a landscaping business. While my husband was wearing a company shirt, we were asked whether we had a business credit card, business paperwork, or company branding on our truck. We explained that we do have a business credit card, but do not carry our business registration paperwork in our vehicle. We also explained that while our daily-driver truck is not wrapped, our business trailer is fully branded and was on the job site. The employee then commented that my husband could have borrowed someone else's shirt and credit card and stated that "everyone wants to be a landscaper." She insisted that a vehicle with business logos on the side was required and concluded the conversation by patting me on the arm and saying, "Next time bring your paperwork and we'll give you the discount." We completely understand a business needing to verify contractor status before offering discounted pricing. However, there is a respectful and professional way to do so. The implication that we were being dishonest in an attempt to save money was both unnecessary and insulting. As a local small business, we make every effort to support other local businesses whenever possible. We had hoped to establish a long-term relationship with Hammett's for future landscaping projects, but this interaction left us feeling unwelcome and undervalued. As a result, we will be sourcing materials for our upcoming projects from other local garden centers. Hammett's has a beautiful selection of products and clearly possesses extensive horticultural knowledge. Unfortunately, customer service and professionalism are equally important parts of the customer experience, and in this case, those qualities were lacking. If contractor verification is required, that's understandable. But customers should be treated with courtesy and respect throughout the process.

Went in there (after spending hundreds on mulch last week) and was snapped at that they don't guarantee anything. Very nasty about it. Good customer service would have been to at least offer 50% back towards a replacement. Nope. Hammett may know plants but they don't know anything about customer service. Buyer beware!
