My usual wine spot, 201, recently closed so I had to find a new place to get my wine. I will admit…read morethat I was not initially a fan of Total Wine. Then, my mind was changed on a recent visit on Christmas Eve. Yes, I ventured out on Christmas Eve to get a last-minute gift. The customer service was amazing. I did not feel like it was a holiday. Instead, I had a "personal shopper" help me patiently select several wines. A friend mentioned that curbside is available. Oh my! Who would have thought about making wine pickup so easy? Brilliant. Simply order and pay online, pull into a numbered spot and let them know you're there (email or app). They've made getting wine easy. Maybe too easy! enJOY.

Unfortunately after that I had a lot of issues with the special event team being unresponsive. I would have to wait weeks for a reply, even after sending multiple follow-up emails. There was a large discrepancy in the price quote I received and thankfully I caught it and got it corrected. On pickup day, I thought my order would have been already counted out and ready to go, but none of the quantities on the cart they rolled out were sorted. The cashier was confusing me, scanning bottles and not setting them aside, asking what I ordered, when it really should have been on them to know that. It was very stressful and I ended up buying more than I ordered. There are still significant pros to using them- they have an excellent bulk order discount and the fact that you can return unopened bottles is great. Plus, you can't beat the selection. I don't regret using them, I just wish my experience was better and I hope they improve for future brides/event planners.

Total Wine & More in Steele Creek is easily one of my favorite stops for beer in the area. The…read morecustomer service here is consistently pleasant. Every time I walk in, the staff is friendly, welcoming, and ready to help without being pushy. The beer selection is fantastic including local craft brews, "the basics", and harder‑to‑find options. I appreciate the labels with descriptions of the beers which make trying new ones less of a gamble. I'm not much of a wine, cigar, or THC beverage consumer, but they have a seemingly plentiful selection of those products as well if you are. If you're in the Steele Creek area and appreciate great service paired with an impressive beer lineup, this location is absolutely worth the visit.

Charlotte is blessed to have three Total Wine locations and this one is closest to where I usually…read moredo my shopping. Located in the Rivergate Shopping Center in the former Books-A-Million location, it's convenient with lots of parking and multiple other grocery stores nearby to finish out the shop. What sets this store apart is the breadth of its selection and the way the staff make it approachable. The aisles are well-organized, with clear signage that makes it easy to move from everyday table wines to more adventurous bottles, and the beer and spirits sections are equally strong. I've found the staff here to be consistently helpful, whether pointing me toward a reliable mid-priced cabernet or suggesting something new from a local brewery. I also had no problem finding the non-alcoholic wines that will go well with our Thanksgiving dinner, which was a pleasant surprise given how often those can be tucked away. The tasting events and seasonal displays add a bit of fun, and the store feels welcoming rather than overwhelming despite the size. It's also practical: the checkout lines move quickly, and the proximity to other shops means I can pair a wine run with errands without feeling rushed. For anyone in Steele Creek or the Rivergate area, this Total Wine is a reliable stop that balances convenience with variety, making it a solid anchor in the shopping center. Something fishy about this place and I don't trust them…read more For the past 10 years or so, we have made it a practice to say thank you to close friends and coworkers by giving them a bottle of Biltmore Estate Christmas wine. Normally we would just go out and buy a case or so but with Covid and Supply Chain issues, stores were not able to get bulk shipments which meant that you had to go to multiple bottles. Started out at Total Wine and More in Birkdale and scored 4 bottles. Next tried Wine Maestro and despite the fact that it was 11:30am, there were no cars in the parking lot, lights were off and doors locked. Went to Olive Garden for lunch and while I was there, I called the store. Someone answered and I asked if they were open, and they said yes and they had been there from the time the store opened. Explained I what I was looking for as well. I explained that I had been there 30 to 45 minutes earlier and the lights were off, doors locked and no cars in the lot. The gentleman on the other end of the line said I was wrong and besides, they don't carry the Biltmore Wine. I don't like dealing with this type of untruthfulness. Note: My wife was with me the whole time and she can't understand it either
