Great time, especially as a beginner. Definitely get the two hour tour. The first hour on the ATVs is a little slower which is great to get everyone accustomed to the turns and hills. However, once your break is over the adventure begins and everything is kicked up several notches. It is for sure a workout, wear clothes that you don't mind getting muddy. Tim and Brad were excellent guides. They made sure we were comfortable, safe and most of all that we had a good time. We will definitely do it again.

My family of 5 had a fantastic time there during our vacation to Shenandoah Park! The guide was thoughtful and we had fun while taking in the beauty!! I just wish we could have done it all day!

My hubby brought me and my best friend here for my birthday this past weekend! Omg it was one of the best things we did. We were so afraid to go and spend the money because we saw the bad reviews. But we decided to go very very last minute (the day before) however they were able to accommodate us and were very nice about it! And on top of all that we were a hour late because we came from the VA Beach area and traffic was bad, we almost turned around because we were expecting for them to still take us on the ATV tour. We communicated with them and they were so understanding. The tour guide was simply amazing! Nothing less. We felt like because we were late and the last tour of the day, he was going to give us only 50% energy and cut the trip short. Absolutely not! He was so friendly and warm. He made sure we were all comfortable and happy with the decision on going!

My wife and I were looking for a local yet fun weekend getaway. Appalachian Adventures most certainly met our expectations. Make sure you wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Wear gloves if its lower than 60°! Be ready to have fun! The first hour of the ride was slower and easier so the first-timers can get used to the machine. Just because it was slower doesn't mean it still wasn't fun. The guides kept your safety and well-being on their mind the entire trip. They were constantly checking-in to make sure we didn't need any help/had any questions. Patricia did a great job on educating and teaching us the rules and expectations when we first arrived at the office. Her job was to make sure we were informed consumers. Great experience, definitely recommend for anyone who wants to experience the outdoors in a way they've never done it before!

I was celebrating my first year wedding anniversary and wanted to do something new, different and exciting. I left a voicemail and was soon contacted by Patricia. We discussed details and I told her I needed to relay the information and call her back when I was ready to book. She was very transparent with all the information from the start to finish. Our tour guide was Tim and he was awesome. It was my first time and I expressed to him that I was nervous. He made sure that I was comfortable from start to finish. The trail was beautiful and slightly intense( again I was a first time rider.) I will be going again.

This was way better than what I was expecting. My wife enjoyed her birthday with a two hour surprise guided ATV tour. Our tour guide was fantastic. I will be requesting Brad for our next trip (which we are already planning). The trails and views are breathtaking. They have specially made trails on private property that really highlight what the ATVs are capable of. We did the two hour guided tour and felt it was worth every penny. When we initially met the staff they made us aware of the safety procedures they put in place, which made me feel very comfortable. They take safety and protocol very seriously (as they should). Don't be a clown and follow ALL directions in the emails and you will have a 5 star review to write after mine. I'm still blown away from our experience.

    Conversation with owner

The owner was consistently rude and uncooperative. I tried calling 8 times with no answer and no call back. On the 9th call she finally answered and quickly told me she would text me; screenshots of that are listed below. Any interaction we had I initiated. She never bothered to send me any information. When I finally got ahold of her this afternoon she was instantly rude and demanding. She attempted to belittle my knowledge of ATVs and I told her I was no longer interested in patronizing her business.

    The view at the top.

Appalachian Adventures is top notch. I had none of the issues that the other reviewers noted below. Patricia couldn't be nicer - and their company is meant to introduce folks to the great outdoors. I rented 2 ATVs for 2 hours for myself and my 16 year old son. Our ATV guide was Larry and he was great. Very safe and very fun. My son had never been on an ATV machine before and Larry did a great job getting him comfortable. These are 300 cc machines - very powerful and fun. I recommend the 2 hour tour. The first hour is meant to introduce you to the machine and for your guide to be sure you can handle it in the back country. The second hour was much more fun, big hills up and down, very rocky and muddy... the whole adventure was great! I will be back next year when my other son turns 16.

There is a workout area, park, and pool area for young kids and a full pool area as well. Upon entry we were immediately turned off as staff are all rude from the front desk to the lifeguards. The woman at the front was so brash. Cost Warrenton locals: $6 kids and $7.50 adults for the pool area, playground is free. They have family lockers and rooms to change in which is really cool. Everything is clean. Pool area isn't ventilated well and needs fans. It's more humid inside than out on a hot day. They also have minimal seats with broken chairs if you're a bystander. There are three lifeguards on duty which makes you feel secure in the size of the play area, some of them however have their feet kicked up and are talking to each other on walkie talkies so not sure how much attention they are paying to the kids. The kids had lots of fun inside and outside. Loved going down the big slide and playing in the water area. It is a good break for the kids and I would recommend it, as long as you know all the rules and regulations ahead of time.

It would be nice if more times were offered for classes but at least there's one Saturday morning class. Late afternoon and evening classes would be useful for those that work. Staff is friendly. Water aerobics classes are ok. Sometimes it feels like the instructor is rushing. As soon as you start a set they move onto a different exercise. It's quicker to do a movement on land than it is in the water. Because of that, I notice many people just do their own thing. And the instructors are hard to hear especially if you're completely to one side. Not everyone can be in the middle. You get out of it what you put in but the whole purpose of going to a class is for the instruction. I can go to a pool and do my own thing, I'm paying for the instruction. Having the toddler swim lessons in the big pool while having the adult water class is not the best idea. I understand the other pool was closed for whatever reason but cancel whatever you had over there or move the times. You've got parents and toddlers there for swim class, parents and toddlers there to just play (hanging out on the steps bc their toddler is afraid, waters too deep, etc an employee did ask one parent to move bc it's not ideal to hang out on the steps) and you've got about 15 older adults there for water aerobics....really? Adjust the times.

Horrible experience and atrocious customer service…read more On 05/31/26, I received a phone call from this resort offering what was described as a special promotion. I was told, verbatim, that they were "rolling out the red carpet" for me, my wife, and our three young children to attend a presentation in exchange for a complimentary stay. We scheduled our overnight stay for 06/06/26, with the presentation set for 8:00 AM on 06/07/26. We drove six hours each way specifically for this promotion. Upon arrival, we were informed that amenities we had been promised, including access to the water park, were not included. We were then told that the tours had been overbooked and that our presentation would need to be rescheduled to later the following day--well after our checkout time--which simply would not work for our family. The staff, particularly the managers, were some of the rudest and most unprofessional employees I have ever encountered. Rather than attempting to resolve the situation, we were repeatedly told to call various phone numbers ourselves. No one showed any genuine concern or willingness to help. I was so shocked by the lack of professionalism that I recorded my interaction with Assistant Manager Joanne, who refused to involve another manager and repeatedly instructed me to call different numbers the next day to address the issues. When those numbers were called, no one answered except for one employee who informed us that we had reached the wrong department. The entire experience was a disaster, and we hadn't even made it out of the lobby. Another employee continued asking whether we still wanted to stay. After explaining that we no longer wished to remain given everything that had happened--but that they already had our deposit--she abruptly canceled our reservation and walked away, stating that she was done speaking with us. As a result, we packed up our family and drove another six hours back home. We wasted an entire weekend, spent countless hours traveling with three young children, and were treated with complete indifference and disrespect. I would strongly caution others against booking based on promotional offers from this establishment, as our experience was nothing short of unacceptable.

He taught us how to safely spot or catch someone in front of us if they're falling back, he taught us the different whistle signals used, and how to use a compass! I had no idea that I didn't even know how to use a compass in the first place. Once he navigated us about halfway to our ending point, he had one of us navigate the rest of the way using the cave map and our compass, and then had us switch on the way back (there were 2 of us). We had never caved before, but he saw that we are the active type, so he not only led us horizontally through spaces, but we also got to go vertical and climb up and down spaces. I couldn't stop raving about our experience afterwards. This tops the list of most exciting things I've ever done, and most unique as well because I can't say I know anyone else who has ever done caving. On our way home, we stopped by Luray Caverns and it was really cool walking through with newfound appreciation. We were able to point out things and appreciate how it was formed in ways we never would have beforehand. The only issue is we wished we could have strayed off the beaten path and explore more nooks and crannies the public doesn't get to see! If you're questioning whether to book a tour with Wild Guyde, I would without a doubt recommend it. If you think you might get claustrophic, I had the same fear going into this, but the cave is very open and even when you're crawling you still have plenty space around you that you don't feel trapped. Plus, you don't have to do anything you don't want to or feel comfortable with! I promise you won't regret it.
