JHall was very very quick to respond to my inquiry. Jacob asked very pertinent questions regarding all that needed to be moved. JHall's came up with a very fair price to move our over 3000 sq. foot home. His employees were very accommodating, extremely polite and very capable to move large furniture without damaging either the furniture or the walls and floors they encountered. They did their work in a very professional manner. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone who needs an honest moving company. I would employ them over and again, in fact, I did 2 more times. To resolve last details in moving our out door furniture, and cleaning out a shed that was filled with years of detained cleaning. They are an Awesome outfit. If you are moving, I highly recommend their services. And I will continue to reach out to them when in need of a move even of furniture from one part of the house to another. Thank you JHall for being there!!!

But after researching other local movers his pricing is very fair. The day of moving, he and John showed up on time and got straight to loading our furniture, they wrapped up what needed it, and delivered everything in a timely manner. They were very careful not to ding the walls or damage our furniture!! We definitely recommend them and will use them in the future.

I called at 3:30, and by four, they were overlooking the couch and giving me an estimate. Matt and Oliver went beyond and above to get the job done quickly. Honestly, I was embarrassed because my place was a mess because I am moving, and the cats demolished the couch. Same with the tree. I am also a single woman and usually very uneasy about having anyone in my place let alone any men. They made me feel very comfortable and were extremely professional. I really appreciate you Matt and Oliver for everything, and being very kind as well as treating my place and the cats with so much respect. If you are looking for a company that is reliable and quick, do yourself a favor and call them!

They did pack 6 boxes of trash and one box of laundry I had sitting by the washing machine. I asked them to load the boxes in one area last, so they would come off first and be in the back of my storage unit, things I wouldn't immediately need. So, they loaded them first. All those boxes are at the front of my unit. They left things at my house and had to go back and pack and load some more. I asked them to place my file cabinet a certain way in my storage unit and explained why I wanted it that way. They sat it 90 degrees different from my request and told me it would work better for me. (Suppose they think I'm stupid or an idiot) I gave them things out of my house, i.e. laptop computers, books, food hoping to prevent theft. No such luck. They didn't even pack my television, threw a blanket over it and put it on the truck. It's sitting on boxes in my unit, looking like you could turn it on if you had the remote. They told me they wouldn't take any containers with liquids in them, then they stole 2 five gallon gas cans and two smaller ones. They threw a lot of my things into cardboard boxes as big as bathtubs, so they didn't have to actually pack, two of these bathtub boxes. But, they don't have lids for them, just set them open into the unit preventing me from using the vertical space on top of them. Some of my clothing were wadded up so tightly into boxes with the hangers attached, that the sides ripped and the lids couldn't close. They don't understand that tape is supposed to adhere to the cardboard instead of forming a tape handle, despite my multiple suggestions that they adhere the tape on the actual box. I spent four days with these people and tipped each member of the entire team $50.00 each day. I could continue, but it makes me sad that people don't have self gumption or self respect to do a good job anymore, just haphazardly do their job and expect you to reward them.

I found out that it was not wise to use Black's Moving and Storage in NC. They had a great website…read morewhen I hired them - which no longer exists. It bragged of experience with full packing for long distance, pianos, antiques, collectibles, estates, etc. I have had 6 professional moves in the past 30+ years, and this was the scariest. This was a long-distance move (NC to NY) involving 2 months of storage. Despite a referral from the people buying the house I moved out of, I was not pleased with them in the end. The only thing I have good to say is that they were kind and friendly; and I let that impact my decision to cancel another company to use Black's. The first company offered $2000 off the price of my move to get me to stick with them. I should have gone with it. Not only did Black's end up more expensive, the final price was over $1500 higher than the original estimate. This was not just due to higher gas prices. They underestimated the miles from their warehouse to Albany at 700 (I thought it should have been over 800) and the actual address I moved to turned out to be 153 miles more. I got no copy of the "high full value" insurance policy I paid extra for. They took an inventory of only some of my antiques and high value items and I received no copy of that inventory stating the original condition. There were some items that were not even properly packed before leaving my house, and I was told this would be done before my goods left their warehouse for delivery. It was not. I had already packed half of my boxes myself. My mattresses and grandfather clock were supposed to get cartons, and they cancelled those and wrapped them in bags/cardboard. The only things packed well were kitchen items and wardrobes. I had to tell them they missed packing many items; and they missed some drawers and cabinets - which I had to pack myself and make them come back for. I learned a lesson not to use an estimate based on weight instead of truck sq. ft. used. They estimated the weight at 4500 lbs. and then refused to weigh the shipment for delivery saying it would likely weigh more than 4500 lbs. and I would have to pay more (so?). They changed my delivery date 3 times, and they were in a big hurry to get out of here. I had to ask them to unwrap my grandfather clock so I could see the condition! Some of my collectibles and furniture were not packed well. I had some damage to a few items when goods arrived - fortunately minor - and I received no response from them when I sent an email and pictures of the damage. I have been able to repair some of the damage myself, but never received the requested claim to report the damage for any insurance payback. There was no inventory anyway for proof. They left a moving blanket and a cinder block (used to hold the front door) behind. There was wall damage in a newly painted apartment from them banging things. Very stressful move. Use them at your own risk - I did.
