We used this company a while ago and just now getting to the review. The cast iron pans that were in my family for generations were put in the cab with the movers. They never made it into our home. Surely forgot. Called twice and left messages to retrieve the pans back. Even shared we would come get them. This was to no avail. We are very disappointed. They are dishonest people. read more

Approximately one month ago, an Asheville Area Movers truck drove through my yard while trying to navigate a curve. One person got out of the vehicle to try to help the driver navigate the curve, but the driver became impatient and just decided that tearing up my yard was less important than his time. As I was standing at my front door during the entire spectacle, the person on the ground tried to reassure me that the would return to repair the damage they caused. But before I could get a name/contact info, he suddenly jumped back into the truck and it sped away (a dangerous move, given that we live on a side street that is literally only one car wide). I grabbed my keys and had to follow them down Charlotte Street until I could get a photo of the sign on the door. At that time the drive looked at me and said, "We'll be back!", and kept on driving. A month later, and I haven't heard from them. I'd set all of my belongings on fire before I trust this company. read more

Today, I found myself insanely impressed with Zay, Paul, and Ryan Robb from Asheville Area Movers. They are unloading the trucks so quickly and with care. We had almost been scammed twice by a "budget" group of movers. We were nervous about hiring this company because of the feeling. Kyle was very responsive and helpful with all questions. His team of workers were hard working young , courteous and friendly men. Zion and Daniel were part of the team in Asheville . We moved to Missouri, and Isaiah and Cody were the team. Cody worked on both teams. There were a few issues of damages, but very minimal. It was very hot both days, but they didn't take breaks or complain. The movers showed up in with no identifying shirts, in ragged clothes making me wonder if they indeed represented the company. After questioning the two, I was reasonably convinced they were from Asheville Area Movers. The van also had no name on it. They did not have a tool box to disassemble furniture and had to borrow tools. The truck was too small and my family had the make 3 extra trips to pick up things after the move. They did not come straight to the new location because they said they had to get gas. One of the movers disappeared for 45 minutes to my upper bathroom. Some lamps were never delivered until I complained. The price they charged was approximately initially higher than quoted until I spoke to management. Even though my boxes were labeled in bright color where each room it should be moved to, most boxes were thrown in one big room. I am disabled and it took me six months to go through the mess they left finding several things missing. Of course at this late date, the management said it must have been left behind. The pictures on the website in no way represent the company that moved me. Tips to have a successful move: 1. Insist on on-site visit from management for moving estimate. 2. Number your boxes (1 of 32, 2 of 32, etc). 3. Take inventory of large furniture being moved. 4. Stay with movers at all times; get help from family or friends if necessary. read more

We needed help relocating our washer and dryer from a very tight space to a new location in our home. We received a quote with an hour and they were able to fit us in for the day we needed. The day of the move they kept us informed that they were running late and let us know when they were on the way. Nick and Zay were our movers, and they did such a great job. I used this company to move me from Henderson County to Rutherford County. The guys were nice and pleasant but lacked expertise. They actually had a new guy on the job, first day, who they put in my kitchen to pack it up. Unfortunately several of my good dishes and bowls were broken. Also, I uncovered some dead plants that had been packed in boxes with other objects. I could go on and on but I think you can get the picture. I don't believe the movers did these things intentionally, they just did not receive the training they needed to do the job right. Best of luck if you hire them. read more

I got lucky and got out of my lease. I saw the rating on these guys and am glad I gave them a chance. Both Hampton and Josh were amazing. Both were personable and friendly. Josh was Johnny on the spot with his knowledge about every single facet of being a mover. Both worked their asses off to get the job done. They were both extremely careful with my stuff and came prepared with all the tools necessary to dismantle furniture. 10/10 would use this company again. one of the guys named Isaiah kept asking if i wanted to sell my furniture and stayed on his phone the whole time. The other guy with him was doing must of the work. After loading everything up he tells me he needed to stop for gas..I'm thinking why didn't you get gas before coming to my house. I make sure they have the correct address and he said we're going to you house after we get gas. I'm at my house it's over an hour later they show up and he gave me some bs excuse about traffic plus they stopped for lunch. I had call the place 3 to 4 times trying to find out where the truck was with all my stuff. The guy finally calls me back and I tell him how long it's been he says I'll take money off your bill. let me t you that didn't happen and I guy named Isaiah had the nerve to ask me for a tip after I paid I felt like was for the hour+ they did whatever before getting to my house. they may be cheaper but that's the quality of work you get too! The owner should look for better help because Isaiah isn't doing you any favor. he had a very filthy mouth cussing every other word, and giving the other guy a hard time that was working with him. read more

I've had some bad moving companies in the past, but this one was the worst. I had a one bedroom, moving to a two bedroom. Not a lot of big furniture but a lot of boxes which I warned them about. They did show up on time which was good but everything went down hill from there. They had no tool box in the truck to dismantle anything, did not have their own dolly and had to go get gas in the middle of the move. The truck they had was not big enough so my family had to make three trips to move the rest. They just threw the boxes in my new living room. Most (not all) were labeled to which room they went to. That was largely ignored. The two guys disappeared for over an hour in the middle of the move and I was missing two items at the end of the day. I called Kyle and all I've heard is "we don't do things that way" and how surprised he was and he would call me back. I've called repeatedly and I've gotten no where. I did finally get my items back, but no partial refund of my $800 dollars. I'm a single, physically disabled woman and I don't think they took advantage of me so much as this is the regular way they do business. The excellent reviews are unbelievable. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!!!!! EDIT:::: I just spoke to one of the owners. Seemed to be a nice, concerned owner. He is going to refund me the difference between the quote and the actual price and I'm very pleased. After speaking to Brendon, I just might use them again. I can't say enough good things about AAA. These guys were great! Domingo and his wonderful partner's work was outstanding. They were ahead of schedule and called to ask if they could arrive early! They were careful, courteous and efficient and kind to my 5lb dog who was constantly finding ways to catchup with them. They worked through the afternoon and late into the evening when the rains turned into down pouring and never missed a beat even in the dark as my new home had no outside lights at the time. This is the worst company you could possibly use to move. I used them to move on May 25th and was quoted 4-6 hrs of move time for the size of my house and basement. The two guys that showed up were nothing but lazy and unprofessional. 11 1/2 hrs in we still weren't done with the move and they had damaged several of my personal items. The borrowed glue from my neighbor to fix a desk half ass. I was in contact with their boss who suggested that wasn't common practice and that he would contact me later in the week and stop by himself to look at my broken belongings. We called them very last minute, actually as we were driving the moving truck to Asheville. Although I'm sure they had a busy day, two guys showed up and you would have thought it was their first move of the day, that's how nice they were! So fast, so friendly, I would recommend them to anyone for sure!
