History

Established in 2014.

Appeal to Heaven LLC: Independent Nurses' Network began with the goal of keeping folks in their homes as they age. Adult children often live more than 50 miles from their parents and are not available to help manage complex health issues. These families face difficult dilemmas that may challenge even the strongest family ties. Does someone quit her job to become a care giver? Does she have the skills and knowledge to be an effective care giver? Do we push Mom and/or Dad out of their home and into a facility "for their safety?" Given the complexity of health care a private nurse seemed to be the best solution but there were no affordable options on the market, so we decided to build our own. Our challenge is educating the community on the benefits of RN care and care management as a cost effective way of remaining at home for people who have or are at risk for complex health problems.

Meet the Business Owner: Christine E.

I became an RN in 1991 and began working at U of Iowa Hospitals in vascular and bariatric surgery and later in oncology. In 1997 I moved to Eau Claire where I worked as a float nurse at a local hospital until I got a job in home care a field I always felt was the best fit for me. I worked as an RN case manager for several years before accepting a supervisory role that included clinical staff education. From the management role I was recruited by a local college to teach in their nursing assistant program. In 2014 I formed Appeal to Heaven LLC with the goal in mind of building a web app similar to Uber for finding private nurses. I had seen the frustration of families trying to navigate the health care system and the indignities of long term care and spent several years crafting a business model that would provide trustworthy, affordable services that adapt to the individual needs of clients.
