Progressively getting worse and worse and worse. The quality caliber and basic knowledge of so called "genius" is at an all time low. Furthermore, The customer service of some staff is appalling. We went in today to talk about the diminishing battery performance on a three-year-old MacBook Air and was told Point Blank we needed to upgrade to a new MacBook Air or have the battery replaced at our own cost, As the device is now outside 24 warranty ( The battery had been diminishing for the past 12 months) The Genius Mark and the manager David were so unhelpful and basically ushered us out of the store... Took my laptop in to have the trackpad replaced. This was the second time I had to take it in. Was told it would take a few days but got a call back the same afternoon saying it was ready to be picked up. My fault for not asking when I picked it up - maybe - but the problem persisted. It wasn't until I'd had several calls with tech support that one of the operators did a little bit of digging and low and behold, the trackpad had not been replaced at all. read more

After five beautiful years with my little ibook it told me it was time to leave. Technically it was it's power cable that died but it was a slow machine and I understood it was time to move on. Before I got to this stage of acceptance however I had made a few visits to the Apple Genius Bar at Chatswood Chase. Ben, one of the technicians there helped me to recharge my ibook with one of their 'vintage' model battery packs and subsequently backed up my hard drive. Brilliant. I had backed up a decades worth of travel photos to an external hard drive but had been a little more slack with the hundreds of music albums and work documents. Anyway - the 'genius' didn't have to this but it did. I went back a few times after that to check out the latest laptop models. I spoke to about three different shop assistants and they all seemed fairly in tune with the machines. I love that at this store - and it's a busy one with up to 40 odd shoppers in there at one time - the ratio of shoppers to sales assistants is pretty equal. They're all fairly jovial too, there's lots of youthful energy in there. Saying that I didn't find them overly techy or hard to understand and there were plenty of 50+ people looking keen to learn from the youngsters. I ended up with a MacBook Pro and they set me up and added the software I'd bought there and then. There was no - take me to the till and package it up faffing either as the shop assistants have card machines and receipt printers in their pockets. Bright shop. read more

For the online order experience I would give you 5 stars , however that's not what I'm here for. I wanna give you feedback on my Store experience after purchasing a MacBook in your online store. Sad you don't wanna hear about that anywhere, as there is nowhere i can leave feedback privatly on your website. You just wanna hear about your product , but not the people that make you what you are , your staff in the stores. That must have changed. As a result I have to use that platform here and most likely others so you get the message. So here it is. Booked myself in to an early Sunday morning pick up in store to beat the Sunday croud. Arriving at the store 10min earlier , I did ask a member of staff where to queue for online pick ups, obviously didn't wanna end up in the long queue for in store shopping experience. But I did. While waiting for another member to book me in, I reconfirmed the purpose of my visit with another member of staff, however that didn't make any difference. Obviously the store opened up and the queue slowly started to move. Ceveral people looking at each other as no one looked after us ( check in) as we slowly entered the store. After just standing around - surrounded by plenty of staff, don't get me wrong - I finally got picked up by someone who asked me what the purpose of my visit would be. Long story short, i got checked in finally and advised that i should have been waiting in another queue for online pick up, basically would have shortend the wait drastically on that Sunday morning. Well done. So I moved into this direction now waiting for my product to arrive. Brought by another member of staff, calling my name. Asking to confirm an email that was displayed on her screen and handing me over my purchase and gone. Sorry what just happend. Anyone , that I was surrounded by could have done that and receive that package instead of me. With all your security and privacy features you are implementing, not an experience you expect. Getting worse by talking to a manager/ supervisor in store who was more like , sorry we are busy , please get going, just not applogetic enough to acknowledge that the staff in store is overwhelmed, has no attention to details and no idea on customer experience and probably left alone by unexperienced Managment. I would prefer a retail telco shop or kiosk before recommending Apple as a place to procure a contract for the iPhone. I give my full support for Phi over at Apple Hornsby as a knowledgable employee of the Siebel system and Telstra procedures. In light of that, it is not my place to name and shame the 3 employees who seemingly aren't very well trained in Telstra Siebel operations. NOTE: I have extensive knowledge of Siebel for Telstra and 3 other major corporations. I know staff that should be trained better before using these systems. read more

Had my iphone5 for less than one year now,the speaker which used to making phone call stopped working last week. the technical staff in chatswood chase told me that they can not fix it after they opened my phone at te back of their shop. the reason is I changed my screen somewhere else instead of fix it in apple store. I admit that I broke my screeen and fixed it somewhere else since the price is half of that in apple store.however that does not change the fact that the speak is still genuine. They refuse to check whether it is the speaker's problem or the receiver's problem since the screen is not genuine. what worse is that after they opened my screen, i found that the screw socket has been broken by the tachnical people in apple store.The screw threads have all gone and i couldn't open the phone any more with any screwdriver.The screen was brand new without any scratch on it when i gve to the technical people, but after they brought it back to me there is abviously a scratch mark on the screen but they said the phone was like this when I gave to them! And the screen was not assembled propably by them. what I want to say to apple is, you did not just lose me as one customer, good servicea can be known by three people, however bad servicea could probably be known by three thousand! read more

These people are truly amazing. I can honestly say, I've never experienced another company with such a high level of customer service and a genuine "care" for their Apple community. The team is friendly, knowledgable and genuine, and has been a big reason for myself, my friends and my family never even looking at changing our devices to a competitors model, even if they are cheaper. Shameless. After exhausting every single option on the phone menu trying to make an appointment at the store to resolve an issue with an iPhone, for the call to be terminated by their 'system',eventually we got some tiny incremental progress on the business option. A person. Who said we can book an appointment in a week's time, or go into Chatswood and get in a queue and wait for between 20 minutes and an hour and a half OR MORE. Now, the call cut out halfway through the extraction of that much of the process. So, after calling back for a sixth time to get the hour and a half or more dead time as the "Apple optimal outcome", "Chris", went on an extremely aggressive sales pitch, proclaiming that dog's breakfast of a system to be "World's best". Personally, I will never consider another Apple product, and expect such corporate sociopathic myopia to be reflected in the share price as the market, and Apple's competitors respond to such oligopolistic hubristic contempt. read more
