Yesterday, I visited the Toledo, OH Franklin Park Mall Apple Store for the second time in approximately two weeks. I have been there many times over the years with very positive experiences. The first recent visit two weeks ago was an attempt to update my mom's Apple Watch because fall detection was no longer working and the "automatic update" had not updated and I couldn't figure out how to manually update it. While everyone was nice during that visit, I was passed off to various staff members and ultimately needed to leave the store because the update was expected to take more than three hours and they would be closing before the very slow process could be completed. When I arrived home, I followed directions to continue the update process, but it was repeatedly unsuccessful. I decided it was time to buy my mom a new watch - the newest SE 40" face model- and not have to deal with trying to salvage a watch that was beyond its prime. I also decided to go to the Apple Store during the day on a weekday. Alissa was the team member assigned to me and she immediately took an interest in understanding why the fall detection feature was important. She was also very patient as we tried various passwords. It would have been a more stressful process without Alissa right there next to me with her understanding encouragement. Throughout this process of turning in the old watch (btw, received a credit of $55) and purchasing the new one, she never pressured me in any way. Alissa spent approximately one hour solely dedicated to getting the new watch set up, which included several calls to my mom to obtain a code that was generated to her phone at home). . Throughout it all, she was patient, helpful and good-natured. I left feeling that she cared about my experience and in setting up the cellular watch with ringtone and my mom's watch face preferences. Alissa is a very sincere, knowledgeable and dedicated team member who clearly takes pride in her ability to help others in her role at the Apple Store. Thank you Alissa! You're the best!!! P.S. The new SE watch also includes an extra fast charger along with a watch band. read more

I cannot believe how horribly the Franklin Park Apple Store handled my warranty replacement. Apple wasted my time, money, and patience with their absurd policies and lack of customer care. I live an hour away, and my Apple HomePod failed after a few months. I took it into the store, where they confirmed it was covered under warranty. Great! Except they conveniently had "none in stock." I pointed to a stack of them on the shelf, but no, those were for sale, and Apple couldn't just swap one out. Instead, they had to order a warranty replacement--almost certainly a refurb--and have me return later. Fine. Annoying but okay. I asked if they could mail it to me since I live so far away, and of course, the answer was no. I had to come back in person with the defective unit. So I made the two-hour round trip home, waited, and then received an email telling me I had five days to pick up the replacement before it would be returned. I had to take time off work to drive another two hours round trip to swap my old one for the new one. I asked them at the store if everything was in the box. "Yes, everything is in the box," they said. Guess what? I get home, and THERE'S NO POWER CORD. Now I have a useless HomePod that I can't even plug in. I try calling the store and battling through Apple's awful automated system. When I finally reached a human, it was just an off-site answering service. They struggle to get the actual store to pick up. After holding for 15 minutes, I finally got someone from the store. First, they try to tell me the power cord must be there because "it doesn't come off." WRONG. The large HomePod's power cable DOES come off--the HomePod Mini doesn't. They don't believe me and have to check. When they finally admit I'm right, they offer two terrible choices: drive another two hours round trip to get the missing cord or have them mail it to me with no tracking, meaning if it gets lost, I'm out of luck. So now I have to decide whether to waste another $35 in gas and hours of my time or risk waiting another week and potentially never seeing my cord. This whole process was a joke. Apple does not care about its customers. They put the entire burden on me, costing me time and money to correct their mistakes. A multi-billion-dollar company can't figure out how to make warranty replacements easy. Apple turned This simple fix into an expensive, time-consuming nightmare. So disappointing. read more

When it comes to help, I'm a pretty generous guy...if I'm not mistaken, this is only the second 1 star review that I've ever given. So yeah, working in retail can be fun but it's tough sometimes. You deal with cool people, and you deal with normal people. But, you also deal with a$$holes and idiots. I get it...I tended plenty of bar and waited on plenty of tables during the middle 2/5 of my life. But still, even if the previous few customers weren't nice to you, or even if your girlfriend/boyfriend ran off with a better equipped dude, or even if your labradoodle took a big steaming shit in your Easter basket, you should still, at least, be polite. You should still initiate subsequent customer encounters with something like: "Hi, welcome to the Apple Store. Can I help you?" If you do that, it minimizes the chances that things will go downhill from there. read more

Great service helping IPhone owners with any questions or problems. I was having some email issues with an iPhone and Ross Eagleston stepped up and worked efficiently and patiently until the problem was solved. Toledo is lucky to have an apple store so that folks don't have to drive to Ann Arbor or farther. Conveniently located near exits off I-275, it's on the first floor inside a busy mall. There is plenty of parking in a covered, free garage near the store. It's close to the food court. read more

This is a good experience at the Apple Store. I had trouble getting ahold of the store and so did Apple. Apple said they hung up on them. I was not going to go there but was going to go up to Ann Arbor. Then. I met Ben. Ben was the tech. He went out to get my computer to bring it in since I cannot carry it. He thouroughly checked my computer out and was able to provide solutions to my problems. Though he was. unable to get one unnecessary thing to work, I was very satisfied. I a new user so when I look around the store and there are several different items that look identical (too me) I don't know how to select the bwst item for me without the aid of a sales associate. Yes, it's great that there is an Apple Store (hilarious that is auto-capitalized by iPhones) in town, but for the love of baby Jesus train your employees to at least not seem to be irritated by a customer coming in and dropping almost a grand on a watch. I get it, you have to deal with idiots coming in all day wasting your time with pointless questions and getting fingerprints all over your shiny products as they peruse their Facebook feed but a "thank you" or "thanks" or even a "later brah" would go a long way. That aside, my sincerest best wishes to all of the employees at this store for the horror of every minute of every shift they will spend punched in to their beautifully Jony Ive's designed time-clock this holiday season. read more

I usually go to the Apple Store at Keystone Crossing in Indianapolis and this was my first time to this Apple Store at Franklin Park Mall. We took my 15 year old grandson who was visiting from Oregon to Tiffin (in Northwest Ohio). He had never been to an Apple store so I was hoping it would be a good experience for him as it has always been for us. We went specifically to look at the Apple watches which my wife & I already own. We had numerous employees ask us if we needed anything and we had a few minor questions but mostly wanted to look around and browse which they always let you do without any pressure. My wife was also looking to get an additional watchband (one of the new Woven Nylon ones). When it came time to get to business, an employee - associate - genius came over to us and answered all of our questions. From that point on, he was fantastic being there as much or little as we wanted. His name was Phillipe and could not have been more polite or respectful to us or my grandson. I watched him as he dealt with my grandson alone and was totally impressed how polite and respectful he was treating him the same as he treated us. We have always had a Great experience at the Apple stores and that is why we choose to do all of our Apple purchasing there instead of other retailers. The "Apple Store Experience" as I refer to it cannot be compared to any other retail experience. I seriously have never encountered a single employee who, I felt was not ready to be on the floor. When I do ask a question they cannot answer, they always go and get the answer for us from someone else. As a side note when my wife was browsing she asked one of the associates about a problem she has been having with her iPad on a setting and he went straight to a particular individual and he quickly showed her how to correct it. That made her day as we have tried everything and they fixed it in a matter of seconds. As they always do, Phillipe offered to help my grandson set up his watch and sync it to his phone, which I was grateful of since I was not going to have the time afterwards as we had to travel back to Indiana. I stepped away and let Phillipe work with my grandson and he actually let my grandson do the set up while assisting him. He was very patient and never rushed him in anyway. When they were done, Phillipe asked him if he had anymore questions and offered the various branches of support that Apple offers in case he had any additional questions or problems. I thanked Phillipe for an excellent experience for the almost 2 hours we were in the store (much of it browsing) and Phillipe gave me his business card. As I look back, I really don't know how it could have been a more positive experience for us or our grandson (who acknowledged he has never been treated with that level of attention or respect before). I'm pretty sure he was impressed and will be back to the Apple Store! A huge Thank-you to Phillipe Taylor at the Franklin Park Mall Apple Store. read more

My friends phone screen was broken. We went in to get it repaired, luckily the wait time wasn't long. We were quoted an hour, and recieved a text message letting us know the phone would be done soon. We came back to the store and proceeded to wait for 45 minutes. It took about 30 minutes to explain why we were having to wait. A little communication would've been appreciated. After waiting for 30 mins, it was explained that the display calibration machine was down, and that they would have to replace the phone instead of just replacing the screen. They replaced the iPhone 5C for the cost of the display replacement. Thanks Apple! The only thing I would've changed is the communication. read more

I'm glad there's finally an Apple Store in town. I've come here before with friends who have needed to fix their phone. The store is pretty busy so most of the time you wait a while to see a technician. I had to get my phone looked at so I made an appointment on the Apple website. I went in for my appointment and was checked in right away. It didn't take long to be seen and I was in and out of there in less than a half hour. I highly recommend making an appointment in advance! I forget the name of the guy who helped me but he was friendly and very helpful. read more

The worst Apple Store I have ever visited. I travel all over the world and visit Apple Stores any time I need an accessory. In this store, I tried to purchase a LaCie external hard drive. Went in on two different occasions and could not get anyone to ring up my purchase. Finally, I just bought the darn thing on Amazon, and got on with my life. The kids working in this store just have no idea when to stop goofing off and help customers. I won't be back and recently discovered "Mac Café" very close to the Franklin Park Mall, where this Apple Store is located. No problem in Mac Cafê getting help. read more

Nothing works at this store. The automated system, the survey, the messaging capability, the store associates never pick up the phone and the call rolls over to general customer service. I went in yesterday for a battery replacement and was told they ran out of batteries. Instead of them offering to call me when the battery came in they told me to call back which I did and spent 20 mins on the phone with customer service only to be told that they can't have the store call me and I have to call them. Our phone updated and then it wouldn't connect to the carrier anymore. Took it to the Apple store and the lady was very helpful and friendly. They had to send out the phone for repair and gave us a loaner to use. They fixed the phone free of charge and we got it back a week later. The guy that helped me when I picked it up was extremely nice and transferred everything over from the backup. Highly recommend this store. All the workers are great. read more

I agree with another review that the associates need to pay more attention to the customers. Even when you get one to wait on you, they are constantly distracted, talking to other employees and not that helpful. I left without purchasing anything, because I just couldn't get a straight answer. The young woman who waited on me seemed put out by my questions and in a hurry to get rid of me. Mind blowing incompetence to the point of hilarity. Went in today to get my iPod repaired. The tech guy, Rami, looked at it and said there is no way to fix my iPod and kept pushing me to buy an iPhone 6 to replace my iPod?? Really? A bit of an overkill, since I told him I was happy with my flip phone. Then he insisted I purchase a new iPod. I left, in disgust, went home, did a little research online and restored my iPod, it works just fine. Update: Called store manager and spoke to Leslie, who is as incompetent as the tech guy. All she could say was "I don't know what his thought process was, but I am sure he was just giving you options. I will let him know how you feel." She'll let him know how I feel?? What?? read more

I'm surprised they haven't been reviewed yet. I travel a lot and have been to Apple stores in many major cities and this is the best apple store I've been to. I'm so glad to see they have a store in Toledo now and I don't have to drive to Ann Arbor or wait until I am travelling to a major city for work. Staff is always friendly and never a wait. When I bought my apple watch this summer a very knowledgeable young man answered all my questions. I had to place the order in the store and have it shipped to me and it arrived over a week earlier than expected and he gave me some good tips to get started and told me if I had any questions with it after I received it to come back to the store. He noticed I was wearing my current watch on my right wrist and figured out I was left handed. He is also left handed and told me a couple things to do in the settings after receiving the watch to make it easier for a left handed person to use and those tips were great. I had a question this fall with my apple watch and was in NYC and no salesperson could answer the question and the next genius bar appointment they had was 8 hours later around midnight (this is a 24/7 store). I waited until I was back in Toledo and a sales person was knew what the problem was it and had it fixed in two minutes. I had a minor crack in a phone screen last week and the genius bar was able to get me right in and had the phone fixed in an hour. I just walked over to BD's and ate and did a little shopping while I waited. The genius bar get you in a lot faster than any other Apple store genius bar I've been at in other cities and their sales associates are more knowledgeable than any other apple store I've been to. Never had issues with iPhones. I finally go into the store with an issue after a phone update. I have the 6+. My screen becomes unresponsive. The phone is less than 30 days outside the warranty and I was told updates are meant to troubleshoot and let them learn more about the phones. So essentially I was used as a guenie pig to make my logic board in the phone begin failing. They told me they can help by allowing me to purchase a new phone. $1000 phone should work for some time if all its used for is to text, FB, and email. The only things done on my phone. Not a scratch, nothing. And they say they can help me pick a new phone that's best for me. What a waste! read more

Absolutely horrible . I was told my wait was an hour . Got a text after 30 min . Then proceeded to wait 30 more min until I was sat with a tech who was helping someone who came in after me . Barley talked to me. Waited another 30 min for him to tel me I just wasted an hour and a half because they don't have the phone that I wanted a replacement for . Because it's not in stock I now have to come back to this store that I cannot stand to get the phone read more

I wish there was a -5 star option. By far the worst experience with any associate at any store I've been to. My phone had a mechanical issue, not one caused by me, and apple was fixing it for free. They reset my phone, gave me a loaner phone then sent mine out to be fixed, no biggie. My phone came back 2 weeks later unfixed because there was a tiny crack in my home button, again I was annoyed but whatever they did what they could do. After turning the phone on I realized my entire home button didn't work. The associate, Sarah, explained to me that it wasn't apples fault and it was mine. After reading the papers about the damages I saw that it didn't mention an nonworking home button, and I know for a fact it worked perfectly fine before letting them take it. But still, let it slide. Then while they were trying to get in my phone they realized after trying for 10 min that they were unable to get in the phone because the original problem wasn't fixed by apple. Also no associate told me that I would not be able to get back in phone once reset. So after standing there listening to them tell me "theres nothing we do" over and over, which is also horrible customer service, another employee looks at me and asks if I want to upgrade. I laughed because they had to be joking. So after all of that they wanted me to pay them for a new phone? Ridiculous. They had no concern for my feelings or helped me at all. And throughout this entire exchange I was left more than once so they could help someone else. Walked out of there with a phone broken more than it did when I entered.
