This review is as of April 2017. Our daughter attended Apple Montessori in Fall 2015 for Pre-K . I absolutely loved our teacher at the time(Mrs. Warner). She was great and our daughter had a noticeable intellectual growth from her time here at Apple. In fact, I liked it so much that I thought enrolling our second child, our son, there as well. However, during the 2017 enrollment process we changed our minds on the enrollment for the summer and would continue eventually continue in the fall. Here's where the problem occurred, Maria, the tuition director, re-opened our account from 2015 and had already withdrawn the funds from our account via an ACH transfer. 1) We NEVER authorized this payment. 2) The account information should have been deleted from the databases at Apple M. when our daughter left the school. 3) The account utilized was for my daughters tuition in 2015 and was not a medium for tuition payment for my son in 2017. After requesting a refund from Maria, the tuition director, she stated, "This year the policy changed and we require 4 weeks minimum of summer in order to enroll for September school year. The summer session policy stated on the tuition policy is as follows: Summer weeks are nonrefundable under no circumstances, I cannot refund you the payment." Our problem was simple, we never gave authorization for Apple to withdraw funds nor confirmation that our children would be attending. Therefore, the funds should have been refunded. I called Maria several times and left voicemails requesting the funds to be reverted. These calls, messages, and voicemails were NOT answered. I complained to the director of the school, Kellie Ann-Capatasto, and she was able to contact Maria regarding the funds reversal. It took Apple M. six weeks (plus a few days) to finally resolve the matter. If you are planning to enroll your child here, you may want to consider the above. Personally, Apple M. should have refunded the funds on Day 1 as the transaction was NOT AUTHORIZED. Secondly, having a mandatory requirement to have your child enrolled for a minimum of 4 weeks during the summer to "guarantee" enrollment for September school year seems very "fishy" to me. And lastly, the fact they retained my account information from 2015 also concerns me. This information should have be deleted from their databases once my child left in 2015. The SIX weeks it took to get the refund from Apple M. was a horrible experience. I called and left messages for Maria regarding the situation and our emails were returned several days later. I escalated by calling the director of the school; but she was only able to provide little help since she does not have anything to do with payment processing. I even also escalated to the owner of the Apple M. - Joanne Mooney. I left voicemails and numerous messages and received no response. As the voicemails were not answered, I followed up with emails to Joanne M. and the same, no response. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau(Case ID: 12112651). The school located at 2825 Woodbridge Ave, Edison does NOT have BBB rating and it is not accredited by the BBB. This is also a concern to me. As a result of this experience, we have decided NOT TO ENROLL our children here at the Edison/Metuchen Location(s). The 2825 Woodbridge Ave school may have had great ratings in the past; but based our latest experience with management/owners, we have decided to look elsewhere. There are just as comparable schools in the nearby vicinity with similar pricing/learning experiences and you should keep that in mind. My wife and I work full time jobs and trying to resolve a dispute with a school doesn't want to assist you, return phone calls or reply to emails to matters related to your children - is completely unacceptable and irresponsible. If you run into payment issues with Apple M., trust me -- it will be become a difficult experience. Also, in case you are wondering - Apple NEVER refunded our money. It was our Bank that reverted the funds as a result of their investigation. read more

AMS- Woodbridge Ave, Edison Excellent Montessori school in the area!. I enrolled my eldest son in 2015( who graduated Kinder last yr) and continuing with my youngest one who is in Pre-k. My little one is in Ms. Deskins class. She is a wonderful teacher who really understands her students personality to deal with them. She is very funny ( which the kids love!) and at the same time strict as required. She is always ready to answer my questions and I feel very comfortable voicing my concerns to her. Her team which includes Ms. Cedano, Ms. Welch, Ms. Flores and recently Ms. Paredes are very loving and genuinely caring. My son had morning starting trouble for a long time and would cry everyday while I drop him off. Ms.Cedano was always there to support me. To some parents she might look like a very strict teacher, but honestly in my opinion, she is a very experienced and a sincere teacher. Through the multiple years of being an AMS parrent, I have come to know almost all the main teachers and they are all very good at what they do. This location is managed very well by Mrs. Capatasto, who is another wonderful human being. She always has a listening ear to my concerns and never blindly supports her staff like some managers do. Well, after all the positive review about the staff's, do I have any negative reviews? Yes I do. The fees is on the higher side and parents are charged for multiple registration fee, supply fee, etc. And a month enrollment during summer camp is mandatory which is a real pain for families travelling during summer. My 4 year-old daughter started in Ms. Aguero's class 2.5 years ago as a half-day student. I wasn't working at the time but knew I needed to get my foot back in the workforce so I put my daughter at school 3 times a week (3 hours a day). Ms. Aguero made this nervous first-time mom feel safe in 2021 when the pandemic was very much upon us. I knew my daughter was and still is in the best possible hands. I never have to worry about how she's doing because I know that if she is ever struggling with anything (personally or academically) she will immediately notice and bring it up to me. Ms. Aguero helped potty train my daughter and has seen her blossom into an intelligent little girl. I'm amazed every single day at how much she learns, especially now that she is starting to read. Given that we're both from Argentina, we share a love and passion for some of the same things. For the last world cup, for example, my daughter wore the Argentinian jersey and it was priceless seeing her enjoy the passion with Ms. Aguero. When our family grew by one little human, I immediately placed him in the waitlist because I knew I wanted no one else other than her. My daughter only spoke Spanish when she started and Mrs. Stark made sure to place her in Ms. Aguero's room knowing that she would be understood. She's patient, sweet, kind, respectful and runs a tight ship. My 2 year-old son is also now in her class, and I'm forever grateful for her coming into our lives. We couldn't recommend Apple Montessori and Ms. Aguero more. A special shout out to Ms. Bravo, Ms. Gonzalez, and Mr. Castro who have supported both our children along the way. read more

My sons both go to this school (edison- Woodbridge Ave) and I absolutely love the school! My oldest has been there since he was 2 and I have seen so much progress. All the staff at this school are very attentive and they all make you feel welcomed- I also really appreciate how all the staff know who my boys are and are accommodating. Always greet us with a smile. A special shot out to the teachers who have worked and continue to work with my sons: Ms. Murphy as you know my son mimics your accent and insists you are "Spanish" Ms Welch for being as patient as you can with my son. Ms Aguero, for coming on as the new teacher and treating my son as if you have been with him since the start- learning and accepting his styles of learning Ms Carmen and Ms Ortiz for treating my boy like your own and caring for him his 1st yr at the school and making him feel safe. Making him feel special everyday. Ms Rosa- for really working with my son to get to the next level of his education. Also for taking a great lead during Ms K's leave. Ms. Rodriguez- you aren't my sons teachers but might as well be ha ha thank you for all your guidance and recommendations.. thank you also for those quick fixes I.e. Show and tell Keep up the wonderful work you are all doing and may you be celebrated everyday not just a week during the school year! Being in ECE is hard work and you all are doing a fabulous job! My son is here for more than 2 and half years and goes full day from 8:30AM to 6:00PM. I don't have experience with other schools in US to do a real comparison. However here are few things that makes me comfortable with this school: 1. He is safe and in caring hands - There are always lots of teachers and assistants to take care nicely. 2. Its a quality time he spends there - The whole day is spent in learning something - Active lessons, passive learning through activities, discipline, breadth of subjects covered etc. etc. 3. He loves going to school - We eagerly waits for the school day during holidays and also does not like if I go to pick him early some days. 4. Effective activities - For example there are activities for strengthening fingers which indirectly help in writing. His handwriting is really good. But I don't think he got it by practicing actual writing. There are few things which I am not sure how effective they are, like the Montessori method itself, reading group, phonics etc. I do see good progress in him on these. But considering the fact that he is also naturally growing, I am not sure whether it is less/more/normal when compared to other schools. read more

One of the best schools in and around Edison township on Woodbridge ave. Very professionally run, curriculum focused, activities are based on individual performances n goals. My daughter who is 5 now have been going there since she was 3.5years. I started my son at age 2 last year. Hands on learning , kids are allowed to make creative choices and the teachers offer age- appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and also individually and develop their maximum potential. Safety is their top priority. The bigger kids take care of the younger ones, its amazing! My daughter was able to read before she turned 5. Quality comes with an expense; If you are able to afford their tuition fee, don't give a second thought! There is not one teacher who you won't appreciate. Every child is given attention n care. Their hot lunch program and parental view CCTV access on phones make your life easy. They have plenty of other activities throughout the year- art festival, science project, parents day, international day and so on. My kids adore Ms Buie, Ms Welch, Ms Aguero, Ms J. Sending my son to Apple Montessori School was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our son is in Mrs. Linkletter's class and he absolutely loves his teachers... We have seen a huge improvement in him, not only academically, but also socially. He gets upset if I pick him little early, only because he wants to play there and listen to the stories which teachers tell during after school hours. This is what he says about his teachers Mrs. Linkletter is my favorite teacher Mrs. Shanti loves me a lot and I just love her. She hugs me everyday I like Ms. Prez, she is the princess I hugged Ms. Carballo today, because I like her When I hear things like these from my son, it gives me a sense of satisfaction, that he is liking there, he is comfortable and it's a HUGE relief for us The teaching style is excellent and Mrs. Linkletter and Mrs. Shanti has always taken time to discuss any issues or questions I have, with lots of patience. Our daughter has been going to this AMS since she was 2. I cannot express how thankful we are that she was placed in a class of the most amazing teachers - Ms. Deskins, Ms. Cedano, Ms. Welch and Ms. Flores, and Ms. Sue in the morning care. Our daughter has learned so much academically and socially, loves her teachers and is excited to continue learning how to read, write, compute and play meaningful, purposeful games at home. Our daughter speaks of her teachers with so much love for them. The head master, Ms. Capatasto, has also proven herself to be very caring and considerate about the families that are a part of her school. Our son will be starting soon, and Ms. Capatasto has been so accommodating; letting him explore the school, see his future classroom and meet the teachers. My 5 yo daughter has been attending this school for over 2.5 years and is currently in Kindergarten at the school. My 2 yo son has been at the school for six months. They both go to Ms. Aguerro's class. I can not possibly thank Ms. Aguerro enough for creating a safe, fun and nurturing atmosphere for my kids. I'm so grateful for the fact they are both thriving academically and (most importantly) that I never have to worry about whether they are happy or not (because the answer is always yes). Thank you Ms. Aguerro for always being there for my kids. We have worked with numerous folks over the years at AM who have been great. Special shout out to Mrs. Lao, Ms. Rodriguez, Ms. Patel, Ms. Goyal, Ms. Bravo, Ms. Gonzales and Mr. Castro for always having a smile on their face. Our 2.5yr old daughter shifted from a traditional day care setting to Apple Montessori schools at Woodbridge Avenue, Edison and now when she is graduating as a kindergartner I am glad we made that decision. For all the dilemma and apprehensions parents have with moving to montessori ciriculum, you should take a tour and have that cleared. This is an environment where you can see your kid play, learn new skills, grow in a very structured way and get access to STEM based early education. They ensure to make the kid reach their full learning potential and make them ready for K-12 schooling. We can't say enough wonderful things about Apple Montessori Woodbridge. Our dauther's teacher Mrs Rodriguez and the team ( Mrs Shetty , Mrs Melita and Mrs Ajeethan) were thoughtful, sweet, attentive, wonderfully gifted in making learning exciting and deeply committed to her well-being. They don't have a one-size-fits-all approach to learning and treat each child as an individual. They encourage their strengths and help them in areas that need improvement. We also get frequent pictures and videos of her daily schedule that help us in knowing about our child's day and activities. Excellent learning environment with dedicated Montessori materials and incredible guides. Apple Montessori School is really amazing- We highly recommend. read more

Apple is a great school with good emphasis on one to one relation ship with/amongst the kids and teachers helping establish the personal connection. Our son joined Ms Aguero's class and was taken care from day one by Ms.Aguero , Ms. Josewick , Ms. Lou , Ms Denkins . They have taken utmost care of our son to an extent that he got adjusted in a very short span. His happiness quotient in ms Agueros class is something that I feel proud about and definitely something that goes past our minds every day . AMS teaches kids kindness, and helps them become thoughtful people. However, I am most impressed by AMS' reading program. Both my sons attend AMS. They both have Ms. Aguero. She is an amazing teacher, firm but very kind. My kindergarten loves to learn and thanks to AMS he is an awesome reader. He's been in the AMS program since PreK. My younger son is in PreK and has become a truly independent thinker. My only concern is that my kindergarten will be bored in regular school next year. I should note: another review mentioned a mandatory summer camp. That has not been my experience over the few years I have enrolled my children in the program. read more

AMS has been great for our daughter especially with Ms. Dworak and her staff for last 2 years - pre K and K. My daughter really blossomed into a very confident and well-rounded child. Her social skills have shaped up really well and more importantly always uses her please and thank yous where appropriate. We are very happy to see her development as a kindergartner at AMS, where they have given her the opportunity to learn and do more based on her skill level. My son started attending AMS during the summer camp and our family loved it so much we enrolled him in the Fall. He is there for before care at 7 AM & Mrs. R. Rodriguez is always there to greet us with her lovely smile even on mornings where he may not be smiling back. Apple Montessori schools provide the best Montessori experience for young children. This is the 3rd year my child is in the school and we simply love it.. He is a kinder this year and I think it was the best decision we made for him to stay at Apple and do kindergarten there:) Mrs Linkletter is so compassionate , kind and sensitive to the need of all the children.. she makes sure she reaches all of them and guide them :) the office crew is wonderful and we r very happy with our child's growth.. Our daughter loves her pre- school so much. It was amazing to see how well she adapted to the teachers and school environment.
