Made an appointment to have the oil, oil filter, and fuel filter changed, and my tires rotated on my 2016 Chevrolet 2500HD. I normally do that myself but I had business in the area and figured it would be an easy in and out. 3 hours later I walked out extremely angry. Yes, 3 hours to change the oil and filter, the fuel filter and rotate the tires. The Service Manager knew I was mad and said they were backed up and short staffed, they didn't realize I had an appointment, they would take the labor off the bill for the fuel filter, and that the Service Tech would work through his lunch to get it done. Wow, work through lunch? The horror. Well, lady...I sat there through lunch. Things would have happened quicker if I had gone in the back and done the work myself. On getting into my truck, the TPMS says my front tires are at 75 pounds, and my rears are at 65 pounds. Great...Ill fix that when I get home. Good thing I marked my tires with chalk so I know they were rotated, but Im almost afraid to crawl under the truck and see if they actually drained my oil and changed both filters. With my luck Ill check the dipstick and they will have added ATF to my crankcase. On leaving the property and driving by the service department, the employees are all standing around smoking. Let's be honest - NO car buying experience is great. You're sitting there for hours, haggling numbers, and end up leaving with a new vehicle and new debt But both of our experiences at Miller Apple Valley have been positive. Everyone was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. We've also used their service department for regular maintenance and have been happy with that, too. While we don't plan to (or need to) purchase a car for a while we will definitely consider Miller Apple Valley first. read more

Had my vehicle in last year for an engine issue. After having it for a over a week said it was fixed. Started driving home and still had problems . Took it back the next day. Then claimed they fixed that issue. Long story short I had to take the vehicle back "five" separate times the day after having it returned for the same or similar issues resulting from their fixing. Finally after out of pocket money and warranty coverage combined $7300 I got it back the last time and it was still acting up and then two whole new problems arose all of a sudden and when I asked about them they told me a price of over $2700 !! I just went and traded the vehicle in at another dealership. That was last September! read more

Couldn't leave less than 1 star or they'd have it. We were traveling from Nj to Sc pulling our travel trailer. We stopped overnight at Cracker Barrel across the street which was wonderful. In the morning at 7am we went to leave and noticed a small drips of transmission fluid on the ground. I looked to see where it was coming from and noticed the o-ring leaking at the top of the transmission cooler. This is a simple 15 minute fix if I was able to get the o-ring. I saw the Chevrolet dealer across the street.!I noticed they had opened at 7 so figured I could get either the 35 cent o-ring or maybe they had room they could squeeze me in so we could get back on the road with our family. We spoke to the service writer and initially he seemed like he was very accommodating and would be able to help us out. He checked in the truck at 7:30 am and the tech told us that the o-ring was leaking and was not available without getting a whole fitting. (Number 1 lie). I said ok to replace the fitting no problem. We were wondering after an hour and a half what was happening and was told the truck was done and he was searching for a plastic clip that he dropped. After a half hour my complaint was that he's looking for a plastic clip that costs about 30 cents as it's costing me $129.00 per hour. So this 30 cent plastic clip costed me $75.00. After two hours of this they finally told us it was done. The bill was $460.00. I had questioned this and they said said this was for labor. It is clearly marked on the bill 2 hours labor and the posted labor rate is $129.00. In my book this is $258.00. The parts were $23.00. They had the service manager Paul come out and when asked he told me "You were broke down weren't you"? This was the first scumbag thing he said. Then he said if we didn't like it "he would take the part out"! This was the second scumbag thing he said. It was marked at the top of our service ticket "IN TRANSIT" The third thing was that he told us that he put three technicians on my car to get it done. REALLY? 3 TECHNICIANS TO CHANGE AN ORING THAT IS OPENLY ACCESSIBLE. I guess this is Apple Valley Chevrolet commitment to insult and screw the customer. It's a shame they missed out on a opportunity for a great review to receive this review. I had no problem paying for the legitimate repair but to be price gouged because we were from out of state is shameful on this dealers part. They should be embarrassed! I will also be filing a complaint with state consumer affairs as well as the BBB in hopes of preventing this from happening to the next person. read more

I am not sure I can list all the issues we have experienced. We bought two cars from here, but the trouble is completely within the service department. On Saturday we brought my car in, but we were told it was perfectly fine and to pick it up. As soon as we did, it continued to have the same problems, so we had to bring it back and drop it off (after hours). I specifically said to contact me and not to begin work (only diagnose the issue). This morning I am quote $622 for issues, shocking not covered under warranty, and now there were suddenly codes that they couldn't find Saturday (although they claim to have tested it twice). The car shakes so bad that it's amazing they said it was ok to drive, and another reputable mechanic said they can replace the spark plus and ignition switch for $380. The parts only cost me $154 total, though Apple Valley said they would be $260. Our other car required a solenoid. They quoted $800. Actual cost was just around $100. I am well aware dealers are a little inflated, but this is extreme. Other issues include them forgetting to put on the inspection sticker, not checking wheel weights (and then telling me it was my tire pressue, when funny, Onstar gives me my tire pressure on request), they refused to fix a seat and radio for months until suddenly it was out of warranty and then wanted to charge over $1000 to fix (after complaining and showing proof I tried to have it fixed on multiple occasions, they fixed it without charging me $1000). One day I came for an oil change and they literally forgot I was there and admitted it when I went to question why it had taken two hours. I was also told by the new service manager that he was specifically brought in to correct all of the issues that had plagued the service department. He said that he was sorry for our poor experience, but he was going to make sure that didn't happen again. Imagine my surprise when 1. many of these issues happened on his watch and 2. after speaking to others I discovered that the previous service manager was not fired and the new one was simply hired when the other left. So, not a good start to outright lie, especially when telling me how you are going to fix the untruths from others. All I ask is for good service and for honesty. Do not treat me like I am stupid because I am female. If you are going to do something, follow through. Do not call me "problematic" (yes, Paul the manager said that) because I question the service (or lack thereof) provided. In the past I have recommended the company, I bought two cars here, and until this weekend, I probably would have continued. read more

How is it that a customer (me) asking for help at the parts counter gets a "oh I don't have that information and that I would have to ask someone else. That's it. I had a question about a stock part and the parts guy tells me he can't help. Doesn't go to the computer or a parts book or ask anyone. Just blows me off. This is either laziness, lack of training or he is just not very smart and in the wrong job. Regardless, where should I go to ask a question about a stock 2015 chevy camaro part and would they have the stock replacement part? It must be nice to make a living in spite of yourself. I came in the other day about 15 minutes prior to closing and had cash ready to buy a new car. The manager said they We're closing and had to lock up etc. The sales rep who was fairly new and he was very nice so this is no way reflects on him! He even seemed stumped that the manager was turning away a customer that was ready to buy a brand new Toyota and had cash. No matter when you are getting close to closing when there's a customer that is ready to pay cash for a brand new car especially in times like these you should take that opportunity it's just good business. I took my business up to chambersburg toyota and did not regret it for a second they did not make me feel rushed at all and they were willing to answer all my questions and concerns and I officially put cash right down for my Toyota and I'm picking it up in August very excited. I suggest management reevaluate how they treat customers that have the funds to immediately buy a brand new car ---- something is just seriously wrong about that. read more

First of all....... I'll start by saying we bought a car here in February and just recently moved here. When we bought our car we didn't have any problems but they definitely didn't go out of their way to be nice to their customers. Secondly, we went here to get our other car that we didn't buy here oil changed and inspected. As we arrived they told us it would be about and hour and a half. We decided not to wait and just make a quick trip to the store. After we got out of the store I check my phone and we have 6 missed calls and 3 voicemails from someone named Lawrence in the shop. Mind you isn't that a little excessive? So we called back and he proceeded to tell us that he has been trying to get ahold of us for over an hour (which it wasn't) and that our car failed inspection and we needed to come back in (rudely). Let me fill you in that we have a 2016 Chevy Cruz, never been in an accident, nothing wrong with it. So we got there and he said we failed the inspection because all 4 of your tires needed changed because the tred was too low. And again mind you the tred on the tires was not anywhere close to being that bad. He proceeded to tell us it was $188.00 per tire. He gave us no other options of different brands of tires. We "had" to go with the Michelin tires that we already have now. We may be young but definitely not stupid. So we asked what our other options were and he said I have to fail you because you aren't planning on buying tires. Apparently there weren't any other options on the tires (which is obviously not true, last time I checked Michelin wasn't the only brand of tires.) He failed and rejected the car. We told him we are going to find cheaper tires elsewhere and he replied, "good luck, they are rare tires." I will inform you we did in fact already find them cheaper. I'm honestly upset that they treat their customers like this. For this reason we will never be returning. If you want customers to return, treat them respectfully and don't just go after their money. read more

I own a 2015 Chevy 2500 6.0. Biggest mistake I've ever made, I have had issues from sales, to product defects, to service workmanship. Although everyone is very polite that hasn't changed my disappointment in the product and service workmanship. 4 times back to dealership in 2 months totaling 11 days in shop. Each time it's been in its either had another issue or the service department tells me it's not the trucks fault (eg door speakers muffled and the trailer connection issue must be from the new trailer not the truck). I will never buy another GM product or from Apple valley Chevy in martinsburg wv again. read more

Going on week 3 of not having my car. Took it in for basic exhaust work. They didn't have all of the consumable parts in stock (even though they had 3 weeks lead time), and didn't check to make sure they had the parts until the system was ripped apart. After 4 days, they get the part in. Get the car back, and the quality of work was horrible. Exhaust hung poorly. Oh, and they shredded my shift cable in the process. Another week goes by, they finally get time to work on it again. Now the car is throwing a CEL for an AFM valve malfunction. It's audibly noticeable, but I suppose that also passes for quality work at Apple Valley (also had to explain to them what an AFM valve is and how it works...). I talk to their service manager, Paul, and ask for them to get my car back to it's original condition so I can take it elsewhere. I'm explaining every single problem to him (without being rude at this point), and he proceeds to deflect all blame for all of their mistakes. Maybe they do that because most people don't know about vehicles, but I'm a mechanical engineer. They say they will get it fixed "eventually" The sloppiness and ineptitude of their service department is quite astonishing for a dealership. Their customer service is even worse. If you value your car, stay away from this place. Still waiting to see when I get my car back, but I'm not getting my hopes up at this point. read more

The dealership tried to get me to authorize service that was not needed claiming that two of my tire sensors were bad on the right hand side of the car. the let me leave the dealership with the tire pressure system in alarm and showing on my dash. After researching on-line, I found the manual reset process and was able to get the system reset and the tire pressures reading on all four tires. The only problem is that they were filled with nitrogen and now I have to take them in to be refilled with nitrogen again. The dealership wanted to charge me well over 200 dollars for a sensor replacement that was not needed. My faith in this dealership is gone. This is the third strike. I will not purchase a car from them again or have my car serviced there again. I had two other previous problems with this service department and like I said, this is the third strike. read more

I wish I could give negative stars to this place. I scheduled a brake service for my work vehicle 3 weeks in advance. The time for my service appointment came so I dropped the vehicle off the night before. My appointment was at 9 am. At noon I called to see how things were going. They told me that they hadn't started on my vehicle yet. I asked what the point of the appointment was. The guy then said "you wanted it worked on at 9 o'clock? I thought you dropped it off because you didn't care." Then he tried to tell me it was a miscommunication and they didn't know I had an appointment. They called me three days prior to confirm the appointment. So how does that work? This place cost me an entire day of production. The way I see it these people owe my company $900. read more

Encountered a problem with my charge cord to my 2014 Volt. Called AVC and no one was to be found to speak to me and after waiting for a return call for 1.5 hrs, I gave up and called GM Volt Advisors who in turn called APV. Was told they couldn't see the car until mid Jan. EVs need to be plugged in during cold temps and extremely hot temps to maintain battery. This is strike 2 for this dealership. When we went to lease a 2013 Volt they refused to honor the feds incentives, so we went to Jerry Chevrolet in Leesburg and Ourisman in Gaithersburg for my 2014. I will not go up to bat with this dealership again and as much as DH and I love our Volts, unless GM gets a Volt trained tech at another Chevy dealership near hear, I'm done. Btw, I was directed by the Advisory team to go to Hoffman in Hagerstown, who does not service or sell Volts, they found the problem and did not charge GM for the time they spent. If you want to deal with friendly helpful staff, go to Hoffman's. DH took his Volt there for a software update and same thing, courteous, helpful staff. (GM should have the software updates available online for their customers!) read more

First off I am a 70+ year old Vet. who spent 28 years in the navy and this is what happen to me when I went to Apple Valley Chevrolet in Martinsburg WV. On Oct. 19th, I took my 2014 Silverado 1500 Z92 truck to get the instrument cluster fixed at Apple Valley Chevrolet in Martinsburg WV. The digital readout was 5 miles an hour different the analog gauge was saying. Chris said the they would order a new one and send it to the conversion company to get it fixed. They had to send it off because the truck had a $16000.00 upgrade done to it from the factory with the full GM warranty. The upgrade came with a lift kit upgraded wheels and rims, an upgraded interior which included a instrument cluster that was up graded. Two full weeks went by without any updates so on Nov. 3rd, I called to see what was going on. Chris called me back to tell me that they sent the new cluster and my original cluster to the conversion company to get it fixed. He then told me that when they sent both back they were broken. He then told me that it would cost me $500.00 for a new one. At that point I told Chris that he will return my truck back to me in the exact same condition as I left it with them. I told him he needs to call someone and get the exact same instrument cluster and have it installed and call me when it was done and that I wasn't going to pay a dime because it was under the factory warranty. I get a call from Chris today Nov. 8th, telling me that my truck is done and that they installed a generic cluster and if I wanted to have the same one like before that I would have to do it myself. He then told me that you can't really tell the difference if you are not looking at it, how stupid does he think we are, it's an instrument cluster, we are always looking at it. . As far as I am concerned who broke the parts is no concern to me. The fact of the matter is that my truck was left in their hands and it is not being returned to me in the same condition as I left it with them. This is the last time I will do any business with this company and I do not consider this matter closed. read more

On 2/16/2016 set up an appointment at 2pm with Zack the salesman. Arrived at dealership only to find out Zack was busy. We were directed to the waiting area which we hung out for about 15 minutes. Then Bud Barbour appeared telling us Zack was busy but he would let him know we were waiting. Some more time went by. Bud checked on Zack again. He let us know Zack was tied up. So much for a 2 pm appointment! To be blunt, Zack blew us off and a $27,000 SALE. Really, you have to set up an appointment to buy a car these days?!!! I am thinking to myself, this doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy regarding their service department. I am thinking, I don't think this dealership wants my money or my service business. In most dealerships, if your stood up, there is another salesman ready to jump in to make the sale. Not here. Bud volunteers to show us what he has on the lot. We look at the Equinox. He has six on the lot. However none of them are the ones advertised on Apple Valley Chevrolet's website listed as Internet Specials as I show him on my cell phone. I think to myself, strike two. Bud advises us the vehicles listed either have been sold, or doesn't know where they are. Again, I think to myself, the "bait and switch" tactic using the internet. The wife decides the price is too high for the six vehicles they have on the entire lot. Thats right, a Chevy dealer with only six Equinox on the entire lot?!!! Bud asks us to come back to the showroom to see if he can find what my wife is looking for. My wife finally speaks up and says no thank you. We are tired of wasting our time. Bud and I exchange pleasantries about how to run a dealership. Just in case Bud doesn't pass these along to the General Manager or owners, I'll repeat them. The taxpayers of this country bailed out the automobile industry. I wonder what General Motors management would say about a dealership who pulled what Apple Valley Chevrolet did on my wife and I? Second, I don't think the owners would appreciate the fact that a check writing customer with a trade in was turned away. A $27K sale lost. Does the dealership owner know this type of business practice is going on? How about the general manager? If the GM doesn't know, he is either not doing his job or is actually condoning this type of sales ethics. As I let Bud know, if I was the dealership owner or general manager, I would be lighting up some a$$ starting with Zack, then Bud, then everyone else. For the record, Apple Valley called my wife to set up an appointment based on her internet browsing of their website and her GM discount. She didn't call them! The dealership in my town has a horrible reputation so I went to Apple Valley based on some online reviews - some bad, but more good. I had been looking a the Traverse for over a year (I was hesitant because I've always owned Honda or Nissan). I made arrangements to meet the salesman on a Saturday morning. It started off bad! They didn't want to honor a price that I printed right off their website for a 2016 Traverse and they low balled my trade in almost 50% of the value. After about an hour of haggling on the Traverse and my trade, we finally agreed upon a price. Then it took over another hour for a finance person to be available. I was there over 4 hours total. Fast forward 5 months... the transmission goes out with only 4K miles. They had my car for 9 days. Excuse after excuse why it took so long. To make things worse, they gave me a 'Sonic" for a loaner. I have a family of 6 so we were unable to travel anywhere together for 9 days! One staff member told me "you really caught us at a bad time, we have at least 3 days of work before you". As if I chose for my 2016 car to break down! There was no empathy, acted like I was a bother. I had to call almost everyday to get an update. Buyer Beware!!! read more
